  1. So kicking around the idea of moving. Not too serious, just doing some research for now. Currently live in Freehold and commute to the Woodbridge area for work. Looking at places in Monmouth County/southern Middlesex, maybe a bit closer to the ocean. Any gun friendly towns that you know of? Any towns I should stay away from? I wouldn't want to move to a town that takes a year to get PPP or hassles me with unlawful forms.
  2. How would you rate your experience buying a handgun from Gun broker? I'm looking for the same pistola..
  3. Cops are humans too. Its very easy to Monday morning QB stories like this, but for many of us regular guys here - we've never been faced with a life or death scenario in which we were armed. That being said - If one of the residents had been armed - this confrontation may have been done and over with before the cops even showed up. Bad guy could have gotten spooked and run off. Who knows. God bless the family as they deal with loss.
  4. Thanks to all that responded. I may just have to come out one month and check it out/have some fun with my Remy. I know there's a rule that at least someone has to have their hunting license. How strict that rule? What's the ratio of licensed to non licensed?
  5. Question for the organizers.... Can you guys help me out with the specifics about how the meetup came about and how I could get one running further south for our friends living in the other half of the state? Many folks have voiced interest in holding a shotgun shootout further south. I'd be willing to help set it up and do the legwork. Please PM me! I would appreciate it!
  6. If we do a Monmouth / Ocean central NJ meet up, I will gladly bring my Magpul Remington 870. I have some buck and #8 shot too.
  7. It seems silly to debate so much over it, but I literally have my phone on me or within arms length 24/7/365. While I love Android and it's ability to be customized - iphone is more of a simplistic setup. I think I may go iphone and nexus 7 combo. I can use Google service like maps, chrome and Gmail on the tablet and do everything else on the iPhone. What do you guys think?
  8. I am currently on ATT. I don't particularly mind downgrading screen size since the note was simply too damn big. I use my phone mostly for: Calls & texts Email Social media Tapatalk Some content consumption (pulse) Most used camera. I rarely play games, watch movies or download music onto the device. I do subscribe to Spotify for my music needs. While I appreciate the S4 specs, this plastic construction is what put me into this predicament. Small drop shattered the glass. HTC One, iPhone 5 now.... Or wait until next iPhone... Tough call
  9. Currently have the Samsung Note 2. Way too big. Dropped it and cracked the screen. Have upgrade available.. Looking at: HTC One iPhone 5 Or wait until next iPhone comes out in Sept. If you were in my position... What would you do?
  10. Hey Monmouth, I am also from Monmouth County.. Maybe we can all organize a shotgun shootout somewhere closer to here for folks a bit further south.
  11. I'd venture to guess there are over 200 instances of someone suffering a gun shot wound. Now "shots fired" incidents... Countless.
  12. You should contact NJ2AS with the details. I'm pretty sure that's out of protocol. The sheet I'm talking about is a one page for available on the NJSP website.
  13. Maybe add a bullet that talks about signing consent form for release of mental health records?
  14. I too have always wondered that. Then I heard the sound bite about "the shoulder thingy that goes up." It all made sense.
  15. What do you guys think of the Moss berg 464 lever guns. I think they only come chambered in 30-30 or 22lr
  16. Right. I apologize. From my reading.. It seems like they obtained the records at some point.. Then sent them a letter recently telling them what they did.
  17. "Integrity is what you do when no one is looking." That said... I understand the thought process. It's easy to say "do the right thing" or "it's not yours, so you're stealing." What makes it difficult is living an honest life, telling the truth, returning missing property, etc etc, all the while watching dishonest people reap benefits left and right. I don't think 9 out of 10 people expect their wallet to be returned with money in it. Doing the right thing is harder today than it used to be. I feel like having character and honor puts someone at a disadvantage these days. Sad, sad world we live in when having integrity is a disadvantage....
  18. Thought it was Ok because was raid on news Org.
  19. Well, well well...journalists finally feel what it's like to have their rights violated...Don't you think this is interesting given the raids come a few days after the IRS scandal was uncovered..... via Politico: "Journalists on Monday called the news the Justice Department seized records from phone lines assigned to Associated Press offices and its reporters over a two month period “chilling” and a “dragnet to intimidate the media.” The AP reported the Justice Dept. obtained records that listed incoming and outgoing calls and the duration of those calls for work and personal phone numbers of AP reporters and phone lines for AP offices in New York, Hartford, Conn. and Washington, as well as the main number for AP reporters in the House of Representatives press gallery. The government seized records — which listed incoming and outgoing calls and the call’s length — for more than 20 separate lines assigned to the AP and its reporters, according to the AP. Fox News’ Greta Van Susteren told POLITICO in an email that the DOJ’s seizure “sounds like a dragnet to intimidate the media,” not a criminal investigation. “What is stunning is the breadth of the seizure!” Van Susteren said. “If you read the AP President’s letter to DOJ, and if his letter is accurate, the seizure was very broad: 2 months of telephone records involving many who work at AP! 20 phone lines, home and cell? NY, DC, Connecticut employees? That doesn’t sound like a criminal investigation, that sounds like a dragnet to intimidate the media. The US Attorney’s issued statement about the secret seizure was blah, blah, blah. It doesn’t say anything. The DOJ better be following the law and the Constitution.” Read more: http://www.politico.com/story/2013/05/journos-fume-over-doj-raid-on-ap-91295.html#ixzz2TInWdObf Welcome to the club......
