  1. Quick story... My money was recently stolen .. I got cash back at a self serve register at the grocery store.. Forgot to take it from the dispenser.. Got to car, realized it was missing.. walked back (3 minutes had passed) it was gone... There was a person right behind me. I'm sure it was her. I was pissed and "venting" at work by saying I hope bad things happen to the person who took it. Coworker responds.. "well it's not their fault YOU left your money! " What the hell?!? The person did not turn the money ($100) in. It was not theirs. It was Stolen. We, in this country, act like the criminals are the victims. And it makes me sick.
  2. So they did pass the FID bill? I thought the ANJRPC email blast said they passed it.
  3. Damn, ray has been busy. How's that Tavor
  4. Someone please save this audio file. In case youtube decided to delete it so we can repost. Over and over.
  5. We have the send this link out to EVERY media outlet there is. This will die if it goes to the weekend. Gotta send it out now. I'm going to get emails for as many media persons in the tristate area that I can get and post here today. Standby.
  6. Good guy with a gun likely was why this dude took his own life rather than turn it into a spree killing. Yet - the media will spin this into another reason why we don't need ARs
  7. That's what I'm looking at... Some of the soe stuff. Particularly the 12ga rig.
  8. This ^^ But maybe I'm wrong.. Hey LSpooner - so what gun are you thinking of buying ammo for? You'll probably have more luck finding ammo in stores here in NJ rather than online right now
  9. During Sandy we had tough times making calls / finding power to keep phones charged. Those little Motorola radios saved our rear ends.
  10. Just as the title says... http://www.northjersey.com/news/Newtown_victims_families_to_push_for_stricter_gun_laws_in_NJ_State_House_stop.html?mobile=1&ic=1 Members if the victims killed in Ct school shooting are coming to NJ to lobby lawmakers for a mag cap limit of 10 rounds.. Whiskey tango foxtrot. I'm sorry, but I've about had enough of this. I can not imagine the loss these people have suffered. My heart goes out to those folks. It really does. But what the fugg are you doing in My god dammed state telling me what's good for me and mine. What part of WE ALREADY HAVE LIMITS do you not understand?! *steamed*
  11. There are a lot of good items already mentioned here in the thread. Here are a few others I haven't seen mentioned: -Frontier drinking straw (cheap emergency water filter) -Moleskin pads for your feet -A ball cap or other type of hat -paper maps of your commonly traveled area -some sort of 2way walkies to communicate with others taking the trip if cellphones go kaput
  12. Check out the Kershaw Leek. Pretty plain Jane knife... It does have a sort of tab flip open.
  13. Does anyone here own any on-body tactical nylon gear? If so, what's your purpose? Watching a bunch of videos on YouTube got me thinking... A lot of these guys and gals use chest rigs, plate carriers and or war belts. Some use when shooting at the range. Other use them as part of a bug out kit. Some are simple with one or two pouches, while others look like they are kitted out to go get Osama. Just wondering what everyone uses em for here in NJ.
  14. Maybe I'm reading it wrong... But given the current state of disarray that our current Nics system is in... Does anyone think that a new requirement to run a mental heath check at the time of an instant check will infinitely backup the system?
  15. I am pissed about our gun laws, and I have been pounding my law makers from the local level on up to federal level with my thoughts and what I think should be done.
  16. I agree with you on that. These issues will not be resolved at the lower levels. They need to be taken up with corporate level reps. Just like laws need to be taken up with lawmakers. That being said - some guys here are right... Where does it stop?
  17. Its principle Ron... Little by little we give up more and more.... Look at the DHS checkpoints in Arizona. In an 80 mile stretch I stopped three times for a total of 45 minutes of traffic just to tell some agent that yes I am in fact a legal citizen within the bounds of this country and, as far as I know, am allowed to freely travel the country as I please. He gave me a jerk look and waved me along...
  18. I'm pretty sure it's that once a specific membership class (silver gold platinum) sells out... Its closed out. I think non members will always be allow to come in and shoot. Placed in queue behind paying members of course.
  19. That range looks top notch! VIP lounge, snack bar, 100+ guns to rent.... I may never leave.
  20. Rep. Diana DeGette (D-CO): "I will tell you these are ammunition, they’re bullets, so the people who have those now they’re going to shoot them, so if you ban them in the future, the number of these high capacity magazines is going to decrease dramatically over time because the bullets will have been shot and there won’t be any more available." She is among those in the House that are pushing for more gun control laws....ARE YOU SERIOUS?! If you don't even know how "magazine clips" work - how can you determine that they are evil and should be banned...SMH

    NICS checks

Hoping this doesn't become longterm norm....
  22. I think the question here is the word "permanent". (feel like Bill Clinton right now) But, I guess NJ leaves us to define what a permanent modification means. It seems simple at the surface right? Make it so it can never again accept more than 15 rounds. But what modification ensures no legal trouble? At what point do we go from reversing capacity limit to construction of a new mag - when a Leo or prosecutor says we have ability to make mag hold more than 15.
  23. This is BS. The AP is reporting that there was $60K in damage to the NY Capitol's lawn after a pro-gun rally in opposition to the NYSAFE law. It was raining and sleeting that day and there were thousands of people in attendance - what did you think was going to happen?! Do you think they would have reported this or the NY govt would have made the information available if it had been a PRO GUN CONTROL rally?!?! NO WAY!

    NICS checks

Got mine today. Nics submitted 3/22. 11 days including Good Friday and Easter.
  25. Not to make an assumption, but were you thinking that the rifle would be shipped to your home? You'll have to go down to your shop and complete a nics check, which currently takes about 7-10 days to come back. Mine took 9 with the easter holiday. Otherwise, nice rifle! Enjoy it!
