  1. Thread is pretty simple.. What's your next Glock? I know some people may not like Glock firearms, but I do, and so do many other gun owners. So I ask again, what's your next Glock? Mine: G21 Gen. 4
  2. Apologies - this isn't a news article, but rather something that I found while doing some research. I did add a paragraph at the end with some personal opinion on the matter and why I chose to share it. I hope that others may find the passage useful in their 2A discussions with their friends/acquaintances. If it still does not meet forum rules - please feel free to delete the thread.
  3. EDIT TO BRING POST IN ACCORDANCE WITH FORUM RULES: I think its pretty interesting that those that founded this country frequently addressed the issue of civilian disarmament and the hazards it poses to the people. Its sort of like they saw these attacks on our rights coming. Those who attack the second amendment with gun control measures frequently say that their proposals won't infringe on the 2A, and then they make their appeal that hunters don't need X amount of bullets or "assault weapons," etc etc.
  4. Sweet gun man. For some reason I thought those were illegal here.
  5. That's NJ legal? What the heck is that?!
  6. Interested in this thread. Same situation for me. Looking strongly at the 686
  7. This is very true. Still in the hunt for my 686. No luck yet...

Today marks day 7 for me. Hoping to get a call either tomorrow or Monday.
  9. I use the blades from Dollar Shave Club. For a flat $6 a month, they ship me 4 brand new cartridges with four blades on each. Beats the heck out of any store bought razors I've used. Plus - I never have to go get them, shipped automatically every month. They also have other plans for razors with more or less blades.
  10. Yep! Nothing like turning neighbors against each other
  11. This guy is a piece of work! Cuomo's is trying to back away from the steaming pile of doo that is the NYSAFE ACT. Via the NY Post: (http://www.nypost.com/p/news/local/gov_faking_care_of_business_execs_9uIcEq5lJPk96ayylaRAGL) A Cuomo administration source is flatly denying the governor’s claim that his new anti-gun SAFE Act was carefully drafted, saying the governor himself wasn’t even aware of some provisions when it was hastily enacted into law. “The governor thought the limit on the size of [gun] magazines would only apply to assault-style rifles, not to handguns,’’ said the source. “That’s why there’s the big problem now with handguns, among other things in the statute.’’ The legal sale of virtually all semiautomatic handguns will soon be impossible because Cuomo’s law limits the size of bullet-holding magazines to seven shots, virtually none of which are manufactured for sale. “Much of what’s in the law was drafted by people connected to Mayor Bloomberg and the Brady Center, not by the governor’s staff,” the source said. “That’s why there are so many problems with it.’’ * Can you imagine if lawmakers passed something drafted by the NRA or SAF or GOA?? The media would cry bloody murder!!
  12. The shop is Diamond Back Police Supply in Tucson according to the report I read

^Another reason why I like dealing with Paul.
  14. Many on here say they use Speer Lawman in the same weight bullet as is it supposed to mimic duty rounds. Not sure how correct that is. I had a case of Lawman about a year ago and it was a bit hotter than your standard UMC or WWB.
  15. I really can not stand it anymore. What's the ANJRPC suggesting we do now? Are they Assembly or Senate bills? I'm ready to kick it back into high gear.
  16. So after some thinking and research.. I think I'm pretty set on the idea of using my permit on a revolver. You guys make a lot of very valid points and I'm very excited at the prospect of owning my first wheelgun. I shot a 686 when I took my basic handgun course and I was pretty accurate with it. I think I'd like to go that way. Now I'm struggling with choosing either the plus or SSR. Anyone have either of these in monmouth area?
  17. I know this won't come as a shock to you, but... Via Cory Booker's Twitter feed: @CoryBooker "I understand we need to have a bill in congress that can pass but I'm deeply disappointed that support isn't there 4 an assault weapons ban." And hes the guy looking at a 2014 run for Lautenberg's seat..
  18. I'm pretty much sold on the idea of a 686 now. Now the question becomes... 686P or the SSR? Main uses will be HD gun at some point and range fun. I'd like to get into gun competitions at some point but that's down the line. My focus now is more and more training.
  19. You guys make some pretty compelling points for the revolver. I do like that ammo for it is a bit more available than some of the other more popular handgun cartridges. Now to find a shop that has one in stock or can get one... I'd love to shoot the 686 first
  20. I've never owned a revolver, but it is something high on my list.. I feel like every American should own a good revolver... :-) If I were to go 1911 route, I'd get a sig, Kimber or s&w. However, a striker fired 45acp with a mag cap over 10 rounds is extremely enticing.. Ugh choices... Glock 21 S&W 686 SIG 1911
  21. I just got word my permits are in!! So my current handgun collection consists of a lonely Glock 19. I have a good amount of 9mm ammo in both range and HD/SD variety. I plan on picking up a G26 as a HD backup, CCW for pa and messing around at the range. I also like the fact that it can use the G19's mags and that I have a decent supply of ammo for it now given the scarcity. Now to my problem... I want a larger caliber handgun. I want to keep to 2 or 3 calibers total. SO, I've been considering a .45acp or .357 revolver. In 45acp I've been looking at: Glock 21 Glock 30S 1911 of some sort in .357 I really would have my heart set on a 686 SSR. That thing looks so dang sweet. If you were me...what would you get?? Need some help hashing out pros and cons.. Thanks!
  22. I was at the Oaks show...picked up half a dozen gen2 pmags..30 rounders for $20 a piece. ...stopped at a Post Office in PA and shipped them off to get them pinned back to 15 rounds. Not a bad deal.
  23. I just got the trijicon hd on my glock 19. Got the one with the orange front. They are fantastic.
  24. Welcome and good to have ya with us! Mr. McBeth is right. The NJ2AS & ANJRPC are our best bets at preventing the in - effing - sane laws that have been proposed. Stay strong and shoot straight!
