  1. Cash or check the day of is fine, check prior to the class is also fine. If you're paying by check, let me know and I will send you the mailing address. Wow, this class filled up fast. We are looking at a Friday evening class, date is still fluid, once it's set in stone, I'll post it here as well. If any of you are way south or north and want us to come to you, we can discuss that as an option as well. I don't mind having to travel within reason.
  2. If you have a kit that you are carrying or thinking about carrying, bring it, and we will discuss the pros and cons of them. Some kits come packaged with stuff that you don't need but are sold with it to increase the perceived value of it. fishnut- we can certainly find a Friday or a saturday to run this. If there's enough interest, get me some dates that work for you and we'll make it happen.
  3. I own and operate a small training business, Alpha Omega Training Solutions, which primarily focuses on Fire and EMS training. I recently developed a course that combines my background in emergency services with my passion for firearms and want to tell you about it. Management of Traumatic Injuries is built around the core of "what if" occurs on the firing range. Many shooters have realized that in this sport we can be injured, whether by an AD/ND, squib load causing a catastrophic failure in a weapon or a series of other issues. Yet most of the individuals that I have spoken to, either don't carry medical kits with them, or went out and purchased a kit but have no idea how to use it other than the standard "Well I watched a YouTube video on this once". I don't know about you, but I don't want someone doing a needle decompression of my chest if they've only ever watched a YouTube video. Want to learn how to use all of the stuff that you might be carrying but don't want to spend the money to buy it all again once you use it in training? Then come to the course and get hands on experience with it. I am NOT selling first aid kits, there is a discussion on what should and shouldn't be in the kit, most of the commercially available devices will be demonstrated and allow students to have Hands On practice with them so they can decide what works best for them versus what XYZ company says is the best product. We will be holding a class on June 5th from 1900-2300 hours in Piscataway. We are limiting the class size to 8 students in order to increase the hands on skills time. The class cost is $100. We will be covering items such as tourniquet use, both commercially available and create your own, managing a sucking chest wound and thoracic trauma (chest seals) hemostatic agents (Quick Clot, Celox, etc) and a series of other topics. This course is based off of research, science, and field experience. The two instructors both come from strong EMS backgrounds and one is a combat medic with deployment experience. Course completion certificates will be issued, however they do not constitute "certification" in any of the skills taught. Any questions, let me know. If we end up with more than the 8 students, we can run another class on another night or even a weekend. The class location will be the Piscataway Fire School, located at 171 Baekeland Ave. Piscataway. It is off of Rt. 287 and in an industrial park on the Middlesex, NJ border. It shows up in Google Maps for those of you using it. 1. checko 2. tzullo 3.njpilot? 4.redriver II 5.Damjan 6.CPRPE 7.Blake 8.Snook
  4. Same here with Old Bridge. Shoot me a PM if you are around tomorrow and a 100 yd range works for you.
  5. It has to be shipped to an FFL either way, and they can neuter the mag for you prior to taking possession. It's a fun little gun, great for kicks but that's really about it. I notice I haven't been using my 10/22 much since I bought mine but that's fine, they each have their purpose.
  6. Depending on what you want to work on, there's the V drill, and a slew of other things that Chris Fry covers in the MDTS course. Not a salesperson for him but I learned a lot in the course and it gave me a skills set to work on versus just blowing ammo. Run a youtube search for carbine drills and you will find explanatory videos on some good skills that you can work on. I'm not familiar with Range 14 so I'm not sure of their restrictions.
  7. Every Monday from 4-9 p.m. there is a Bullseye match at Old Bridge Rifle and Pistol Club. I'm not sure what the non-member rate is to participate but the coordinator would be able to answer your questions.
  8. Am I reading that wrong or was that signed in 2004 and has been in effect since then?
  9. When I was a volunteer, we had a stretch of road adjacent to a sport stadium that we would use during sporting events. It's quite effective for donation purposes, however it creates a traffic nightmare. There are regulations that if followed prevent people from being in the road when the light is green, etc. I agree that the community outreach/open house is a great feature, however you are correct that it limits you mainly to your community where your fundraising efforts are already targeted.
  10. Depending on the road, they may require a permit to operate on it, and are expected to function in ANSI compliant reflective equipment however it's perfectly legal in that aspect. Due to the economy, donations are way down for a majority of organizations that rely on fundraisers, volunteer emergency services included.
  11. Yes, you are correct. I just built a 300, not sure where you are located but you're welcome to take a look at it. When I find a pound of H110 powder, I'll be able to work up some loads for it and get it broken in properly.
  12. Thank you T Bill. I'm willing to try any or all of them to find a load that works. I was reviewing the internet and saw that Titegroup is an option but in super small quantities and there is a need for a ballistic filler material to keep the powder from moving. I have some pulled 175's that I would like to use but the Hodgdon manual doesn't show anything in that range.
  13. Does anyone have a small quantity of H110 that I could purchase from them? I'm starting out loading 300BLK and don't want to commit to a full pound if it won't give me the desired results. I have some Varget if you are interested in trading. Is anyone currently reloading 300BLK? Would love to discuss your successes/failures with a variety of different powders.
  14. I just used EB Sportsman for the compliance work on my Upper. I'm not sure where in Monmouth County you are, but they're in East Brunswick and shouldn't be too far away. Pretty quick turnaround time too.
  15. If you like Makkoli, you have to try Teppanyaki. Same shopping plaza as the Harbor Freight on Rt. 18 near Tices Lane. It's HUGE, it's cheap (7.50 for a lunch buffet and 12 bucks for a dinner including Fridays and Saturdays) They have a hibachi station, tons of sushi, etc. and I think 16 tables of assorted foods. http://www.teppybuffetnj18.com/
  16. Equifax,Experian, and TransUnion are the ones that you are entitled to one free report a year.
  17. Reports show all active accounts linked to your name. So if you think someone stole your identity you can locate the cards that they are using linked to you.
  18. If the tree falls into his yard, it's his problem per the homeowner's insurance carrier. So if he's that stupid to attempt to kill the tree with some form of pesticide/herbicide (any of the common OTC types from Lowes/HD etc) then when the tree dies and falls into his yard, it will be his issue to contend with. Trail Cams seem to be a cheap alternative to anything else and take pretty decent photos from what I've seen. Someone here might have one that they can loan you if you are really in a tight spot. I do not or else you could have mine.
  19. I don't think anyone knows who runs the Camden County PD? It's an experiment without complete information as it stands. It's also union busting at it's absolute best. Not trying to rain on your parade but at last count, they had 7 of their "new" officers quit during field training. Might be rumors, might be true, but 4 rookies to a car with a senior man which puts guys in the cage with no way out of the vehicle. Take it for what it's worth rumor and speculation as I have no first hand knowledge of that action. Not a place that I would ever willingly work for. What happens when the experiment fails??? What happens to the officers then?
  20. Define a nice area. PM me your info and I can get you in a touch with a good realtor.
  21. http://www.hodgdon.com/PDF/Hodgdon%20Basic%20Manual.pdf Pages 14 and 15. It cites the NFPA standard for quantities and construction types. The real answer is: How long would it take the FD to get to your house and make a stop on the fire prior to it penetrating your enclosure?
  22. He had 11 prior convictions, This doesn't appear to be an innocent party who got caught in the draconian gun laws of NJ.
  23. out already. in my cart, finalizing checkout when it moved to Out of stock no backorder.
