  1. 2nd sunday of the month is the new member orientation. Check out the OBRPC website and it will provide you with some information. If you would like to meet up sometime, I will show you around and you can make your decision. I tend to go on weekdays so I rarely see another soul at the outdoor range, Yesterday I went for 3 hours and it was quite busy but that may have had a lot to do with the Gun Appreciation Day/2nd amendment support day.
  2. I would imagine the stack of books is a much better bet. I don't produce these things, I personally think it's a waste of money but I found it funny and figured I'd share.
  3. It was pretty busy today, but nothing too bad. the 50 yard line was packed, and the USPSA team was working on their trailers but all in all a good day. Sorry that you had a negative day. I'm not sure what time you got there, but I left at 2, and if it was before then, I would have been happy to share a pit with you so you can get your stuff done.
  4. Saw this on News 12. Ballistic insert for your child's backpack. Unfortunately, it's only a type I insert. Ballistic Shield NIJ Type I The J. Bullivant Ballistic Shield is the result of our Research and Development efforts spanning several years with a focus on ballistic and blast mitigation. The chemists and engineers developing this technology are Subject Matter Experts (SME). They have taken that experience and shared it with J. Bullivant and our line of backpacks. The Standard Series Ballistic Shields are rated as NIJ Type I. They have been tested against a 22-caliber Long Rifle High Velocity lead and a 38 Special Round-Nose lead ammunition. Fired at a velocity of 1050 feet per second and 850 feet per second respectively. The panel will also provide stab and blunt force protection far exceeding that of any other backpack. Heaven forbid anyone bring a dreaded "black rifle" in where the velocity greatly exceeds this. For the price of the backpack and the "insert" you can outfit your child with a level 2A or possibly a 3A vest if you are bargain hunting. http://www.jbullivant.com/urban-survival-products/student-series-solar-backpack-technology-package.html
  5. Does that only apply to duty and off duty carry weapons, or all personal weapons as well?
  6. I hate to be THAT guy, but I wonder if they are going to adopt the "justifiable need" criteria. If not, go IL!!
  7. I wonder if someone tripped over the power supply or if they want this to be like NY and do things behind closed doors.
  8. http://www.livestream.com/governorchrischristie That's what I have up, if it's 2:30 it should be coming live soon.
  9. Nick, Henry and I are both looking for supplies, but powder valley is out of stock on just about everything. Got any other ideas? I'll split the hazmat with you.
  10. I just got the same email but it wouldn't load properly on my phone. Consecutive runs is a nice feature but damn, that's expensive. I build my firearms for use, not for a showcase.
  11. I just spoke with Henry. I'm not sure what he wants the world to know and what he doesn't so out of respect, I will leave it as, he is incredibly thankful for all of the thoughts and prayers that have been given. As you can imagine these are difficult times and keep the prayers/positive thoughts coming.
  12. I'm guessing a private message that isn't so private anymore?
  13. You are probably pretty close to CJRPC as well. There are multiple members of each on the forum and I'm sure someone would be willing to let you come and take a tour so you can check both out before making a decision. Not sure what your schedule is like, but I'd be happy to let you take a look around OB if you are considering it. Welcome to the forum. So are you in the boro or the township?
  14. I would imagine that a majority of the stores don't carry reloading supplies in large quantities due to the hazmat storage laws, regarding "magazines" for storage and the regulation of 1.4s explosives. Google the storage requirements, and then picture trying to get approve from a municipality to store that large of a quantity in order to satisfy the current market. I believe Mastadon is looking into that currently, someone from there will be able to comment on the current requirements.
  15. "They can't put anything on the internet that isn't true"
  16. Judging from the photos that I've seen, I would say it's legal. It's listed as a muzzle brake and not a flash hider right? The two holes (barrel side and exit) are the same sized or different sizes?
  17. I would imagine you can register an ATV or a dirt bike at the DMV/MVS. Progressive Insurance is one of the companies that will insure just about anything with wheels so you can probably get your insurance through them. Interesting concept, but not nearly large enough.
  18. Welcome to the forum. Have you checked out OBRPC as well considering your location? If you would like to take a look at it, I'm sure myself or one of the other members would be happy to offer you a tour so you can check it out.
  19. The kid who is in training to be a "peace officer" reminds me of Milton from Office Space. I wonder what would happen if they took away his swingline stapler?
  20. Ok, so violence is a product of an additive in gasoline now?
  21. The current guy actually seems to actually have a logical point and wants to address the mental health issue.
  22. As with all issues, there are people who are on both extremes. This man's entire livelihood is being threatened, and I can understand the anger, however the approach is a bit scary in that the "Anti's" will immediately brand him as the face of All gun owners.
  23. I'm under the impression that Troopers are required to keep a log of all traffic stops and dispositions which is the reason behind the written warnings, if they decide not to write the ticket. I could be entirely wrong and this policy may not exist but it sounds plausible.
