  1. I checked it out abt 3 months ago and it was the same way.... an old house and no sign of anything being done. I did email them with some questions on it and the main problem I have is they will not allow you to bring any of your own ammo in to shoot. They told me all ammo used at the range must be purchased there. When pressed on the issue as I like to have some freedom in where I buy my ammo, I was told it was due to Insurance purposes and no exceptions. It could make a trip to the range really expensive.....

I can see if you are renting the gun from them but if I am bringing my own gun they can kiss my butt if they think they are going to force me to buy there ammo. Just my opinion but i think this is another sign they are underfunded

  2. 30 30 with the new hornady leverevoltion (sp) would be a good choice for thick woods deer an even close range bear if ou put he bullet in the right place for deer I hear the new bullets are good out to 250 if you are going to use it as a woods gun it is nice and light and just feels good coming up to the shoulder. There is also less to catch on as the lever actions are usally a little shorter. If you are lookIng to use the gum for bear moose or elk I would step up in caliber maybe 444 marlin or the like built for lever guns

  3. I saw guys at the match yesterday with velco belts used just for holding holsters and mag pouches. I like the Idea since I have no butt i was fighting with my belt and pants all day yesterday. I like the ones that have velcro. Also not looking for ones that are crazy expensive. I dont know if it helps but I am shoot SS 45 with two SA mag pouches and 1 safariland trhey are all 2 mags per. I am also using the Holster that came with SA range officer its a paddle type.

I would appreciate any suggestions from where to buy and what you use now.

    thanks

    mike

  6. I bought the springfield Range officer for 825. Full steel frame 40 oz's so not a light gun but i love the feel in my hand. Adjustable rear sight came with 2 mags a mag pouch and a holster if you are going to get in gun games its a few less things you have to buy.got about 400 rounds through it and it has been running great the only problem i have is a bought an extra mag (kimber) and it FTE' on the last round with that mag every time. P.S. for you 1911 guys is there anything i can do to fix that magazine i understand that you can sometimes adjust the follower.i hate to not use a 28 dollar mag but it is just annoying i could keep it the same and use it as a training mag to learn to clear misfires if all else fails
