  1. I second jOn's recommendation.....Jack does fantastic airbrush work and has done a number of projects for me. Shoot him an email with what you're after and tell him Paul from RPM sent you.
  2. It's been quite a while since I've had to have a set of mine or a customer's wheels mounted and balanced. However I was speaking with another custom shop owner last week in my area while ordering a new tire for my current bike build and he said the go to guy in the area is on Orlando Dr. in Raritan....right off of 206 in Tony Feil's old shop. I honestly don't remember the name of the shop but supposedly he has the touchless equipment. When my bike tires arrive in the next week I'll be taking them to him for mounting.
  3. My lab is an English breed and she's been nothing but the most fantastic dog since we picked her up at 8 weeks old. She's about 16 months old at this point and the world's happiest dog. She comes with me to work everyday so housetraining may have been easier but she was housebroken in 2 weeks time. She ate 1 sandal and 1 pair of motorcycle glasses and that's the only damage. Best temperment ever...very submissive around other dogs and just very caring. She would probably not act as a great watch dog as she's friendly to everyone, however she does bark deep and growl at people and dogs that she see's walking outside our front window. Like I said she comes with me to work everyday but we can leave her home alone for 6-8 hours easily without any worries. Often she'll go 10-12 hours on her own accord without having to go to the bathroom. I'm also a believer in adopting pets however there weren't many labs available when we were looking and we used HiView Labs in Flemington. I highly suggest them as the owner is obviously very passionate about her animals, very involved in genetic testing, and screens all potential owners to make sure you're a responsible, good fit. That being said it's not a puppy mill by any means so they only have puppies available once or twice a year.
  4. It's all situational decision making questions.....nothing factual. That's what makes it so difficult I suppose.
  5. I plan on applying again. I applied last time around and didn't make it past the written exam. While I don't think passing the physical test was difficult scoring the highest possible score certainly wasn't easy. However they do tell you exactly what you need to do and yet lots of candidates showed up extremely unprepared. I even saw people pass out and quit during the tests. Not sure what happened with the written exam. I took prep courses and studied and I was always a good test taker in school. This time I'll have to just study harder.
  6. HF is great for random tools you know you'll only use once or twice a year. They are also very good about exchanging defective items. I recently bought an pneumatic hole punch/panel flanger and it didn't work. Took me a month to actually get back to the store and they swapped it out no questions asked. My most recent and surprisingly good purchase was a spot weld cutting bit. It was around $7 and is double sided. I probably drilled out close to 500 welds with it before teeth broke off of both sides and made it start skipping all over the place. For that price it was a great buy and I'll be getting a few more next time I'm there.
  7. Hey Big John....how are you man?? I'm doing well. Haven't talked to you in forever....been super busy with the growing shop. As for the SCF&GPA....I've been there and like it a lot. I'm going to hopefully start the process to join.
  8. Picked up my new Springfield Range Officer yesterday...can't wait to get it down to the range. I decided to go with the 870 Express...it's on order and should be here mid week next week.
  9. Thanks everyone. Looking forward to being able to contribute something to the board. After some discussion and more research I think my 870 will be just the Express and not the SuperMag. I don't feel I'll ever have a need for a 3 1/2 shot.
  10. Hello everyone. A friend of mine suggested checking out this site and from looking through it quickly it looks like a good community. I've just received my FID and 2 pistol permits so I'm starting to shop around a bit. I plan on purchasing a 1911, either Springfield Armory or Kimber as well as a Remington 870. Then I eventually want to look into an inexpensive .22 revolver that I can use to teach my wife to shoot. I'm getting into the sport/hobby for a few reasons. These days I think having firearms around for home protection is important. Also I was seeking a new hobby that didn't involve doing what I do all day for a living as I'm getting burnt out in that area and firearms have always interested me. Looking forward to learning a lot and hopefully adding some info as well.
