Hello everyone. I have been using the forum to answer my questions for a couple of months - found more than enough good info to warrant joining.
I live in Little Egg, and have been waiting for Tip's to start construction, like many others here. Originally from Washington State, but have been in NJ since 2005. Used to hunt, pre-military. Have not had the time or motivation since the 90's. Looking to sharpen my shooting skills, as it's time to teach the family how to operate a weapon safely and skillfully.
Was recently looking for a Marlin bolt action .22 w/ tube mag. Holds 17 LR or 25 shorts. Kept getting told that max magazine capacity was 15 in NJ (only true for SA). Finally gave up trying to explain the reg and called NJSP. Provided info to gun shops, only to be told that their distributors wouldn't ship one here, as the magazine held more than 15 rounds... Grr.
NJ gun laws are bad enough. Shops that demonstrate willful ignorance of the law push things from bad to worse.
Sorry to start off with a rant. At least I can get an amen from the choir.
