I've stated several times in the past that gun rights should, as with all rights, be an inclusive movement. It's perfectly fine to believe in the same thing for different reasons. Adding political, ideological, or religious prerequisites to be part of the gun rights movement only hurts the cause. So yes, using the phrase "god given" rights isn't a very productive way to try and persuade an audience.

Larry Vickers is coming to NJ!

I emailed them about class size and was told: "15-18 is our normal class size". Hopefully this class is close to normal. -
Just got my shipping notification. I sent them my FID two days after ordering. Was not prompted to do so by an email.

NRR can be deceiving. I've purchased cheapo ear pro at Dick's rated at 30NRR and some MSA Sordins rated at 19NRR. The Sordins are way better. Honestly, in the end, you get what you pay for.

The homepage says no backorders so I think we're safe. Though I haven't gotten a shipping email yet so who knows.

I'm taking the class and will report back. -
This is actually a surprisingly interesting thought. Seems like the spirit of the law would want it to be illegal, but the letter of the law doesn't cover it.

There's what people are supposed to do and then there's what people actually do. -

I've always disliked the "Slide forward, hammer down, holster" command. So many people simply rack the slide and pull the trigger immediately afterwards. They never give enough time for the RO to visually look inside the chamber and verify it clear. All it takes is for a shooter to forget to drop a loaded mag and you're going to have a ND. I've personally seen it happen. I always rack the slide several times and then hold it open for the RO to inspect the chamber BEFORE I put the "slide forward" and then "hammer down". The entire time also making sure I can see through the ejection port and down and out the magwell. People get way too complacent with this command and it irritates me. The command should really be: "chamber open, slide forward, hammer down, holster". /rant -

Why? I'm glad they did. We need to all see the consequences of complacency. -

The RO, IMHO. That's a huge mess up... -
Senate to vote on reciprocity next week
SgtToadette replied to revenger's topic in Current New Jersey Gun Laws Discussion
I'm all for contacting your reps, but this bill is dead in the water and Republicans know that. They sent this into the fire on purpose so that the Dems will kill it, making us angry in the process and earning Republicans our votes. If they really cared, they would attach national reciprocity to another bill which the Dems would have to vote on. -
Not really concerned with scratches, my punches are just too thick on the back end to go straight through the pin hole. I forgot to mention that I'm trying to remove the existing milspec bolt catch to install the new one.
-
I have a set of punches, even one thats the right size for the hole. The girth on the rest of the punch keeps me from getting a straight angle through the holes, though, as I have to angle it around the ridge on the magwell.
-
Yes! Exactly that!
-
Trying to install a fancy new bolt catch and my punches are a bit too thick to give me a clean path through the path on the bolt catch ears. Apparently there is a specialized punch for this and I don't feel like spending the extra 20 bucks for it. If anybody here has one, PM me and I'll send you my address. Thanks!

I'm in for tomorrow. See everyone there! -
Even with that proprietary bolt carrier? It gives me the heebie jeebies just looking at it.

My most comfortable pair is a pair of Nautica jeans which are just a cut above the rest. Seems like finding genuine denim vs look alike materials can be challenging :/

In terms of comfort, construction, materials, and style? Let the denim wars begin!
