  1. takes the full size mags. they stick out a bit I have the 13 rounders and two ten rounders bought from CDNN at a great price
  2. Hi! a relative owns 10 acres in upstate NY. May I (NJ resident) shoot on her land?
  3. Just picked up a nib Beretta 92fs compact. This is one of the older models, without the rail. Having owned a full size 92fs, I have to say that I prefer this gun over the larger model. Fits more easily in my smallish hands, same accuracy and incredible reliability. Great gun. Picked up some extra mags from CDNN. For those that like the feel of a metal gun, I strongly endorse the Beretta 92fs.

    NICS checks

have to echo the sentiments expressed above. At a certain point the "not my problem-don't call us" response of an LGS after more than a week or so of waiting by the customer is simply not adequate. I understand that the delay is caused by an overwhelmed and obviously incompetent third party provider, but the "too bad -so sad" attitude of a few of our LGS is not reflecting well on them, either. If there is an LGS who has tried to contact state officials to make them aware of this cluster-f##k-let your loyal customers know. You will have our gratitude and perhaps our business.

    NICS checks

8 days and counting....time to check my permits and make sure that they will still be valid a month from now for the other gun I have on layaway....tell me-if the good Lord can create the entire universe in 7 days, NJNICS can't check my background in 8??

    NICS checks

why do I get this feeling that one day we will find out that "Champion Communications", is owned by either a Christie crony or someone connected to another NJ pol?
  8. With respect, I do appreciate that retailers are trying to prepare their customers for the worst in these times. But-if they belong to a Chamber of Commerce, should that not be a way for the retailers to voice a strong complaint to the state? many of us deliberately support brick and mortar LGS in New jersey-maybe those retailers should also advocate for their loyal customers.
  9. We are now living in a new world. OGAM plus 14 days. 44 days between purchases-welcome to the strictest gun laws in the nation. All designed only to hurt the law abiding citizen.

    NICS checks

7 days and counting. Ridiculous. Thank you for letting me vent on this forum.
  11. Welcome to gun ownership in NJ! it is 30 days from possession, not purchase. Also, be careful to count 31 days to be sure. OGAM was bad enough, now it is OGAM plus a week, at least. The one saving grace is that most LGS owners are willing to work with you.

    NICS checks

what makes NICS delay infuriating is that it is due to incompetence and laziness, as opposed to legislating, which we can at least respond to- yes I know that the contracted company which runs nics is supposedly swamped. but anyone can run an organization when things are quiet. it is the measure of a person when things are chaotic that true character shows

    NICS checks

I don't want to hurt local business, but if nj gun owners start buying all their long guns out of state to avoid this extra waiting period might that light a fire under the a- s of state assemblymen who don't want to see local business hurt?

    NICS checks

LGS shared with me today that average wait is 8 days. this is insane and establishes an additional waiting period after OGAM. what the antis do not understand is that treating gun owners like dirt does nothing except harden positions. I know that many might disagree with me but I think that if nj gave consideration to such things as ending OGAM, no more ridiculous permit delays and making this a shall issue ccw state many gun owners might be willing to sit down at the table to discuss how to respond to the violence in our country. show some respect to gun owners and they will respond in kind

    NICS checks

    four days and counting...
  17. purchased today, told NICS still taking 6-10 days ridiculous
  18. with respect, a buddy of mine's dad was murdered in an armed robbery and yes, it gives him the right to speak his mind. that's also part of our constitution. the problem is that our so called leaders posture and bulls##t and have zero interest in having a genuine fact based conversation.
  19. I have been there many times to shoot at the range and to browse the displays. I have to say that they are always helpful and often have a very good selection of handguns at reasonable prices-including more used handguns than you can find at most places these days. The RO's can be brusque but if you take the time to say hello and to be decent to them, they respond in kind. Recently I was there when the owner very patiently explained to a newbie that a "1911" did not mean it was MADE in 1911. I will continue to go back. By the way, in my experience, most genuine "gangsta's" wear a suit a tie, carry a briefcase, have a law degree, serve in our Assembly and Senate, and rob us blind.
  20. Thanks for the good words, and to a certain extent I am actually serious. This is a class issue as well. A lot of us who enjoy shooting and firearms are working people. The politicians wouldn't dare touch the "lifestyle" sports. In my area, there at least two golf clubs that are well known to be "restricted" -imagine the screams of protest if the government demanded that the members had to comply with new laws to admit access to everyone. I bet we would hear a lot about "rights".
  21. Let's treat the favorite pastime of our well-heeled legislators the same way they treat ours. Let's see- You will need a permit from your local PD everytime you want to buy a new golf club-and of couse two references. Don't forget the initial fingerprinting and mental health checks. That takes weeks, or months. You will be limited to one golf game a month (OGGAM) and of course before you can tee up you need an "instant" background check that takes a week. Don't worry, the golf club will call you when the background check comes through. Oh, and the newspaper will print the names and addresses of every person who owns nice equipment.
  22. Anyone have any experience at Lake Island at Carteret? I've met some members and they seem very nice and welcoming. Not too far from me, so I am thinking of checking them out
  23. as always thanks to everyone- just venting, I guess! will suck it up and wait
  24. Okay-I know this is stupid; but dealing with OGAM drives me nuts. I have two guns on layaway and have two weeks left to pick up one and then will need to wait 31 days for the other. How do others deal with this waiting period? I know I am a grown-up and all, but man, I am impatient!
  25. +1 on Beretta 92fs- selling mine was one of the stupidest things I have done! by the way, I also have very small hands and the beretta grip seems to fit well!
