  3. thanks for the info. I am leaving from Atlantic CIty and heading to Fort Myers, we shall see how it goes.
  4. OK - so last year i chickened out; but this time i am doing it! Tomorrow i leave for Florida for vacation and would like to carry my Nano. I got me a new plano case and non - tsa locks and got everyone nice and snug - i know that i have to declare and all that stuff. Quick question for the veterans - loaded or unloaded mags? After declaring goes back in checked suitcase (with cloths and what not) to be checked ammo in checked suitcase in box or other secured case? or should i just buy it when i get there? cheers, AM
  5. I already have a Jericho 941 (baby eagle) same gun. besides, i broke the budget with the PPQ. this is kinda the throw away permit.
  6. Like most, i did 3 permits. 1. PPQ 5" 2. Taurus Model 85 3. TBD.... i pretty much have all the bases covered, Plastic, steel, 2 1911's and a couple revolvers now. But I came across another Taurus (PT111) that is on sale and seems to get very good reviews as of late. for 199 i think it may be worth a try. Anyone handle one? cheers AM

    Gen 5 Glock!

i thought it was already perfection?
  10. Permit #2 went to this little guy, a Taurus model 85 in stainless. This is not an ultralight, so she is a little heavy but helps with recoil. i have to say this thing is awesome! Its very well built and shoots great. The grips are fantastic ever for my x-large hands. Trigger is nice and the single action is great. i put about 50-70 rounds last week and after settling in i was getting nice groups. This is my first snub so still getting used to it. my only grips are the front sight disappears a bit (some paint will fix that) and speed loaders get hung up on the grips, so you need to work it a bit to drop in, no biggie. Overall i am impressed its my new favorite and plan on carrying it when i hit Florida in a couple months. Taurus is running 40 dollars rebate on these now, so if you are into snubbies this may be worth a look. This one cast me 210 after rebate but the blues are even cheaper now. cheers!
  11. I am not really into glock, but i would like to see a carbine from them. i bet it would be cool. They would gobble up that market area for sure.
  12. what ever happened with them? am i allowed to pick up a friend now going to the range?
  13. Great choice. I am hoping to pick one up as well. Enjoy it they are fantastic shooters!
  14. Greetings All, What can i say about this pistol that has not been said already...its just great - period! The NutNFancy dude calls this the "sniper's pistol" and he is correct. Its almost unfair to be using this gun. I am a devout steel (1911's, Jericho 941) gun guy and never really got along with poly's (even though i have others) but this thing is tip top. And for being a lefty this is without a doubt most lefty friendly gun i have ever owned. All controls are easily within reach and the trigger really is just stellar. And or a 5" slide it's not that big. I was putting rounds in the same hole without even trying. 200 rounds and not one hiccup. I can't wait to get this out to a match! Cheers AM
  15. Stainless Model 85 ordered! $210 after 40 dollar rebate! this is turning out to be a very good summer for me!
  16. So my 30 days are almost up. back to the topic at hand, i think i am going with a Taurus model 85 in stainless. they are running a $40 dollar rebate thru October so that puts it at 210-220 depending on the retailer. That and i kinda blew my load on the PPQ 5" and extra mags. On a side note, i have never seen so many rebates/incentives to buy a firearm by so many makers and sellers. makes me wonder what is going on..... cheers
  17. cool, thanks for the info guys. maybe i dont have to settle for a Armscor M206....
