  1. i did mine thru Green Academy, they take care of everything. Actually at the time (little over a year ago) it was a Florida/Utah course and was great.
  2. this is crazy, what next??? video of elizabeth - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mKMS4kwFvdk&feature=youtu.be
  3. Here she is - Right off the bat let me say i really like this piece! I have been wanting a 1911 in 9mm that wasn't going to break the bank and this is it. Ordered from Gallery of Guns and was smooth as always. The good: very good build and feel. No complaints here, slide to frame fit is very nice. no rattles, and when charging it just feels solid. Trigger is great! i like it a lot. i do not have a gauge but it is advertised as 4-6, but i think its a little less. sights are nice to. my first HG with a fiber front and wont be my last. rear is fully adjustable. after i picked up i did a quick 50 rounds and its just smooth. I have to say that shooting this in 9 over my 45 is more enjoyable, not that i dont love me some 45 - its just a different animal. Grips are a VZ G10 type and are pretty abrasive, will have to get used to those. I ordered a pearce finger insert (i have big hangs and like the added with along with the groves). All in all i am very impressed. I think i may need to ajust the rear sight a bit but overall a great shooter! The Bad: came with one 10 round mag. would have liked 2 at least. Its crazy packed with grease - seriously wear some gloves! the finish, some dont like the parkerized finish. for me its ok. i know it wont win any beauty contests, but still a good looking gun. very minor quibbles on my part, not much to complain here esspecially for under 700 dollars. i had purchased this with the intent for be a new USPSA and or steel gun, so i am not worried about dings, dents and scratches. we'll see how the finish holds up after time. Overall I really like this one and look forward to many matches! cheers AM
  4. i did did 3 as well, with the hopes that some money will appear magically in the next month or 2! cant wait for the Rock to arrive, i am really excited about this one. Going to use as my USPSA maybe steel as well. but now i am already thinking ahead to the next one! i knew i would get over the silly stigma i had!
  5. update - after complaining i have decided to man up and order a Rock Island Ultra FS in 9. I always wanted a 1911 in 9mm. Should be fun! http://armscor.com/firearms/rock-series/rock-ultra-fs-9mm/
  6. Man i would love to move, however i am on the tail end of my mortgage and in a good position to purchase a second home (out of state for sure!). But i guess its 10 round mags (once CC leaves) for me soon and whatever else they impose on us. For me its a tough one to leave, kids are still young and i dont want to do that to them. oh well, more 1911's then! at least i wont have to get neutered mags!
  7. I agree that there is a whole sigma with the permit nonsense. So for me there is this crazy sense of urgency as soon as i get them. Not to mention its a pain in the butt. fortunately Toms River is great (in my experience) with the whole thing. the money is one aspect for sure. My Jericho 941 is having some issues and apparently there are no parts available anywhere is this country so i figured i would get some permits to maybe pick something new up to supplement it while i am waiting. But now that I have the stupid piece of paper i am conflicted. oh well, i could have worse problems though right?
  8. The urge to purchase is leaving me! What is this nonsense about? Just picked up 3 permits and dont want to waste them all. I actually have not gone shooting that much due to work schedules. So i am having a crisis of conscience and cant seem to justify a purchase. AH whats a boy to do???
  9. can anyone give me any info on this place? anybody ever shoot there? cant find much of anything on the web; thinking about heading out to check it out. seems to be open 2 days a week??? thanks AM
  10. I am thinking of one of these since AR's are going to be on the endangered species list. at least i can still use my mags! http://www.mossberg.com/product/mvp-flex-rifle-27744/ yes i know that the ban most likely wont happen, but you never know.... cheers -AM
  11. http://www.njtvonline.org/news/video/democrats-plan-to-roll-back-christies-gun-law-changes/ listen to hear talk; why doesn't she just say "i dont care about people, their rights and their safety....let them die if they are threatened". it would be more honest.
  12. Stern is very pro gun and has a carry license. He speaks of guns quite a bit lately given the election. He speaks very seriously of it actually.
  13. this is my first thought, if it should pass then its game on. i mean how could they not allow it for everyone then? its would be a shit-storm of negative press i would think no?
  14. i am not sure how i feel about this yet... very curious to see how this all plays out
  15. OK - i will get right into it - why doesn't everyone have one of these? I have been debating one of these for a couple years now and should have bought one a long time ago. There have been so many things said about these things so I wont drone on. This is a fun carbine...period. I finally got out this morning and cant find any negatives to say about it. Sights are fantastic, its very ergonomic (at least for me and i am a lefty). Low recoil and its only 250!!! I ran about 120-130 rounds thru it and all were flawless. no hangups, no failure to anything. i have 3 factory 10's and 2 pro-mag 15's. All functioned perfectly. This gun is new and the manual no longer states that the pro-mags will void anything. Apparently they have updated the mags (ProMag #: HIP-A3). Accuracy was great, even the RO came over (he has one also) and commented how good the groups where. Overall i am very happy with this, its tons of fun to shot. it reminds me of a star wars blaster and its cheap. Honestly whoever bashes these is just bored or never shot one. Based on today i would have no issue grabbing it in the middle of the night. Cheers! AM
