  1. i found http://www.jagermeistershepherds.com/. his site looks good and he seems to know what hes doing with the german lines. best of all hes about 10 min away from where i live now. ill probably shoot him an email.
  2. I don't mind the hair. My only problem right now is my stepmoms plans to spoil the pup. She works a lot so I'm not too worried about it since I'll leave at the same time for work and got home before her
  3. I'm not looking to make someone elses problem mine. I know a lot of good dogs come from rescues but I'm not one willing to take my chances when I know what I want in a dog. If I wanted some sort of pit mix I would.
  4. I'm trying to stay away from show lines period. Anyone know anything about the long haired gsd? From what I've been reading they are usually a bit larger but have straight backs which would lead me to believe they have less health problems. Is there any merit to this?
  5. i know the place you're talking about. only problem is i don't live in flemington anymore. i moved in with my dad in monmouth county. maybe i'll take a ride one day next week seeing as i'm still waiting for my interview for a county job and waiting on my transcripts to get the school thing rolling.
  6. didnt you read my location? i got let go from my job down in NC so i decided to come back and go back to school. now i need a puppy to make me feel better.
  7. my only problem with them is a lot of them are mixes or come from questionable backgrounds... about the only mix id want is a gsd/malinois/dutch shep mix of some kind...
  8. i know this thread is old but i figure i'd revive it instead of starting a new one. i'm looking for either a gsd or belgian malinois. anyone have recommendations for breeders in the region? i don't mind driving a while to pick up my pup. I know some of you will try to sway me into a rescue and if i can find a young puppy i'll go that route but i'd really like to be the dogs first and only owner. i don't want to miss out on the puppy experience because lets face it, it may be aggravating sometimes (when the eat all your stuff and poop in your shoes) but that's one of the best parts of owning a dog.
  9. i would just drive there and find an ffl to officially transfer it. or honestly just give it to him and not bother with the ffl. no one down there is going to care about anything thats not a SBR or NFA item.
  10. i just want to know why he was standing where he was? shouldn't he have been behind her?
  11. where would i go about finding one of these build parties?
  12. thats why god made bridges and friends. bent receivers that just need holes drilled and rails welded can be had for half that. i figure tools aren't specific to the build so they are an investment.
  13. I just feel that for around $500 I could build something better than I could buy compete.
  14. i do like to tinker but i doubt my attempt at a shovel ak would turn out 1/4 as good as his. i'm thinking about starting from an 80% receiver and welding drilling and cutting it at a friends house in PA. my main concerns would be putting the front trunnion and barrel in and welding the rails. anyone have an idea how difficult that is?
  15. i've been thinking and since the government doesnt want me to have one i need to have an ak style gun. 7.62x39 seems to be cheap and plentiful. so what is involved with building from a reciever? ive seen parts kits with barrels headspaced for like $400. is it worth it or not really?
  16. Unfortunately I left and now have to move back. So much for southern hospitality. I got let go from my job here in nc because my coworkers were talking shit to the boss behind my back. I've decided to go back to school and that requires moving back in with my parents for now. I'll give escaping another shot after I earn my degree.
  17. If only I wasn't saving for my sbr build. Killer deal.
  18. You should figure out the relative and specific humidity and volume of the room to be dehumidified. Get one that will pump enough pints per day to keep it at the humidity you want. A LGR one will probably be your best option but if you have a very cool damp basement a desiccant might work and be more cost effective as it does not use refrigerant. Just make sure you buy one big enough for the space. I work for servpro and I've come across a lot of dehus that don't do anything because they are in spaces too large or humid for them to be effective.
  19. Since they are limited to FMJ ammo even though we never signed the hague convention is like to see them switch to hot .40 loads or full power 10mm. But in reality if they just started using some +p 9mm fmj they would probably be better off. Less wasted tax dollars and a decent bump in performance from the 9mm. I don't see using modern HP ammo viable because it would be defeated by fairly cheap body armor due to the expansion...
  20. I would take some 200 grain hard cast full power 10mm loads over 44 mag. In just more proficient with a pistol than a revolver. I'm going to get one for camping and hiking here in nc for the black bears. Granted i'd take my ar too if I was going into the woods for more than a day.
  21. fine wine is sealed so it doesn't oxidize. Unfortunately all of these guns will no matter how well you think you take off them.
  22. I had the same problem with my ar with 2 sets of troy sights. I switched the rear to a KAC USMC sight my buddy gave me and never looked back. Troy won't be getting any more of my money for sights. I do like their rails tho.
  23. 17 hmr is a great round. Slightly more than .22 but you get a lot more bang for your buck in my opinion. With that glass you should be able to get great groups out to 150 yards. Beyond that they drop off real quick.
