  1. if money was no issue i would smoke Padrons or Rocky Patels every day. but, i cannot afford that, so i usually just buy whatever CI has for dirt cheap clearance in medium to full bodied. none of that flavored stuff tho. i got a few san lotano cigars in a sampler and they were pretty damn good. i like a maduro wrapper the best. it just seems to add the tastes i like. it seems that they are fuller and a bit spicier with that wrapper, which i like. i also find that i like a medium gauge the best as well as i don't crush them or slobber all over them. if you're not sure of what you like i highly suggest getting a few samplers from CI in Bethlehem or right in front of Cabela's on your next run there. huge selections, decent prices and decently helpful staff. plus they have a lounge to hang out.
  2. they do issue out of state FID cards but you have to apply in person. And its no good when you officially change address so it's best just to wait until you get everything in order. Also the dmv in nj is a one stop shop. License, plates and some places even inspection. Im pretty sure Ga is similar to nc where everything is seperate offices and inspection has to be done at a shop. That's one thing I will miss along with the pizza, bagels, and pork roll.
  3. you don't "need" it but it is strongly recommended.
  4. You're going the wrong way!!! You can stop by my place in NC and drop off all of your guns so you don't have to worry about nj gun laws.
  5. if i cant shoot it i don't want it. even if i ever get a rare piece i'll still shoot it if its safe. otherwise, whats the point.
  6. I wouldn't be surprised. Those special forces guys can do whatever they want to their weapons. And no one wants a mushy grainy mil spec trigger
  7. For using the stock barrel nut the troy rails are hard to beat. But if I had to do it over again I would rather have more options to choose from with propriatary barrel nuts.
  8. you should pick your hand guard before you pinned it. options are limited once you can't take the gas block off...
  9. I personally like the .40 for self defense. I can keep it on target however I do not like shooting more then 100 or so rounds at the range. I have a springfield emp .40 which has the same manual of arms as my full size 1911. so I run about 100 through my emp then continue to practice with my full size .45 simply because the recoil is easier. The .40 is a snap while the .45 is more of a push. My other carry piece is a sig m11a1 (229) in 9mm. That I have no problem shooting all day like my .45. In the end its up to what you feel comfortable shooting.
  10. If your not running and gunning or using it as a close quarters/HD gun, youll probably be more comfortable with a traditional grip angle. To me it is more comfortable to shoot in a traditional bladed stance at distance or from a bench properly. Just some food for thought since you said you wanted an 18 inch barrel for distance.
  11. Its fantastic to know us freedom loving jersey transplants are moving all over. Just remember to not let your guard down and keep fighting the fight in your new home and back in jersey
  12. your guns need friends since you don't give then the attention they deserve.
  13. Its not that I dislike the culture shock. Its just not what im used to and I need adjust. I don't want to be like I was in nj. I like it here so far and want to keep it the way it is or make it better for individual freedoms
  14. Who makes good repros dave? ill be in the market for one soon. It's next after I get my 10mm for anti bear protection down here in the mountains.
  15. Too bad im enjoying freedom in nc. Found a club but they only admit members at their meetings so i have to wait til next month.
  16. It probably helps that I'm in a college town but the locals are a but standoffish. They just need time to figure you or and they are some of the friendliest people on earth.
  17. Moving to the south is a real culture shock. I live right outside boone nc now and it is very southern. The guys I work with are all from the south and didnt really like me the first week I was there. The second week was a lot better. Next week will be my 3rd week. They realize that I like the same things as them and generally have the same political and social views. So they are starting to accept the refugee yankee from the evil north east.
  18. I carry every day. But I live in nc now. I used to keep a long gun in my truck in jersey.
  19. Hunterdon is where I grew up. Nice place for being in jersey. You could look in the hopewell/pennington area as well the pennington school is a nice private school from what I understand. I know a few people that went there.
  20. Both fl and ut are still good down here in nc. Come on down guys
  21. the answer to your italian engineering problems in german engineering perfection (sig sauer). sure the berettas look good and all, but if you know anything about italians they are very emotional and picky. germans may not be the prettiest thing but they work. and when you think they are gonna stop working they show up for overtime.
  22. I used it to ween me off the nicotine. I saw it as a tool not an alternative.
  23. Get the SRT trigger. It comes in the M11-A1 which I have and it is a very nice pull.
  24. How can an aperture be too close?
