  1. Thank you Sam - Pleasure doing business with you!
  2. yea - I didn't get that one either........?!?!?!?
  3. There is an exception to every rule but lately I found that the best way to use 3 permits is as follows: Day 1 - Purchase 1st pistol and submit NICS Day 20 - NICS complete take possession ( I find that my NICS checks are taking avg. of 15 days, not 20) Day 51 - Purchase 2nd pistol and submit NICS Day 70 - NICS complete take possession 20 days to spare. Approx. 1 week before your third permit expires, write a brief letter to the chief of Police in your town and explain as follows: "I am a gun collector, and due to the current turn around time for NICS checks, I was unable to use my last permit (#.....................) within the aloted 90 day period. I respectfully request to have the attached permit extended for an additional 90 days as per NJ law. Thank you in advance" Take the letter & your 3rd permit to the records division that issued the permit originally and politely ask if you can p/u the re-newed permit next week? 9 out of 10 times you get a response similar to " O.K. - give us a call next week" 9 out of 10 times your permit will be re-newed and ready when you call. Attaching a formal letter (note) along with a little politeness goes a long way - JMO Good Luck! .................................
  4. Thanks John! It's always a great ending to the day when I know the customer went home happy! Enjoy the rifles...................
  5. The State of NJ (NJ State police) allow NJ FFL's to accept transfers from private indiviuals from out of state as long as the transfer is accompanied by a clear, readable copy of the senders drivers lic. It would be up to the person who is shipping the gun to adhere to their local laws as to gun shipments out of their state. NJ dealers can only ship to an FFL in another state, but are allowed to receive from private individuals. Hope this helps.....................
  6. Just remember that as the seller - you must retain the Blue copy of the HG permit with your Bill of Sale. The white copy goes to the NJ State Police and the yellow to the local PD I always recommend that the seller write Face to Face sale somewhere on the bill of sale and include the Make Model & serial number...............
  7. In these times of unrest in the gun business every dealer is made to be aware of Straw Purchases. If the owner. manager, or gun counter employee even thinks you may be purchasing a gun for the person you are with - they are instructed to decline your business. that being said, some will adhere to the rules and some will turn a deaf ear (so to speak). Also, it is the law that anyone who comes in to handle a firearm is to have at least a Firearms ID card. That is another rule that is sometimes not followed to the letter of the law. There is nothing in the law that says you cannot bring a friend or relative with you to look at guns. just coach your companion not to say things that could trigger (pardon that pun) suspicion, like saying "I can't wait to shoot this thing" or " I really want one of these" ect. Just tell them you visually observe, offer opinions but stay neutral on possession issues and you will have no problems, Good Luck!
  8. In New Jersey, you are required to complete a Firearms safety course and qualify with the handgun (caliper) you are requesting the carry permit for. The easiest , and most direct course of action is to call you local PD and ask to speak with or meet the Chief of Police, introduce your self and explain your reason for the application. If the Chief accepts you reasoning, you will be asked to properly fill out all the paperwork and submit it along with your qualification from the cert. instructor. The is will be processed, and hopefully sent on to the judge for signature. Again - you need to show just cause, then show certification, then cross your fingers. it is tough , but not impossible. Good luck!
  9. Chris, Great doing business with you! You ever need a favor - just ask........
  10. Always a Pleasure Greg! I try to make my customers feel appreciated & welcome.
  11. Have you seen this? Appears to be the same lock mechanism as on the Barska.................
  12. Currently - NICS is running 6 days (not including Sunday) Of course, it depends on the time of day they (NICS) reply to your FFL, and when he gets time to get back to you, but all my customers are currently turning over in 6 days
  13. If you contact the seller and explain that it is legal to ship a folder to an FFL in NJ (we get to have all the goodies) there shouldn't be a problem as long as you use a NJ FFL that is willing to pin the stock before he gives the gun to you. Same rule applies for Hi-Cap mags, Threaded barrels, ect. If you plan on using GB.com (or another auction site) - first choose an FFL in your area that is willing to work with you (some FFL;s don't want to get involved with some modifications, some will). Once you have a reliable FFL to work with you, you or your FFL should be able to convince the seller to ship here. Just realize that some sellers will stand on principal and not ship to regulated states not matter what; so you may need to find a different seller........... Good Luck!
  14. As of today - The NICS unit in Trenton is running at approx. 6 days (Not including Sunday) They were up to almost 11 days at one point, but I'm told they hired some people to help handle the onslaught of requests. This brought the wait time back down to approx. 3 days but now it is slowly climbing back up (went to 4 days, then 5, now 6/7) - I think it is because of the added number of requests due to more people having Tax return money to spend........
  15. I started this thread to get opinions from Kriss owners; their expierences and feedback and it has turned into a Kriss vs AR debate. Please - I would just like to hear what Kriss owner have to say about their guns, I'm not here to sell anything and I really did not intend to compare to the AR. AR is great - o.k.?
  16. Glock feed system (mag to ramp) is arguably on of the best in the business. Close quarter - in side 20 yards, in a room, small building, ect. No - The optic in not on backwards. Look - if you don't like a Kriss, I get it. And forgive me if I say something that might offend the almighty AR, but I think the Kriss is a good weapon for what it was designed designed for. Yes it has an issues with ejecting live rounds, but owner generally know how to overcome that, so % wise I don't think is as big a deal as some make it out to be. I love the AR, don't get me wrong, I'm just trying to say the feed system is VERY reliable on the Kriss and it does shoot very well in close quarters (hand gun ammo, shorter distances) - o.k.
  17. Yea, but think of all the fun you'll have when the Zombies come................... Lol
  18. No Ray because it would fall into the over 50 oz rule so NJ would not allow it but they do make a Pistol version The SDP
  19. I personally don't think it is any more a novelty item than an AR. Yes it is different, yes it looks strange (cool in my opinion) but it feeds ammo better than an AR (due to the use of the Glock mag system and feed ramp) and in close quarter situation, it will shoot as accurate (if not better than an AR). I know, I shoot both. As for dirty - it's your ammo! Lol Here's mine...........................
