  1. There's a plus side to the excess material. You can now have it flattened and serrated. As Shocker said, if you are planning to send it back, don't void the warranty by doing anything to it. What's done is done. It's in your possession now. Mind the past and plan for the future. More trips to the range.
  2. I Cerakoted myself. Bought the kit from Brownells and whipped out my airbrush and compressor. Easy to apply. Great finish for the DIY. I parkerized the base metal before coating just to give the paint some extra texture to grab on. So far, so good. I run my 1911 pretty dry to put the finish to the test. Couple draws from a kydex holster. No wear marks yet except around the rails where the slide and frame contact. I love not needing to wipe down the gun after using it. Before the cerakote, it had a blued finish. Although beautiful in its own way, it was a rust magnet with my alien sweat.
  3. Not the best fit and finish, if you ask me. I'd be more concerned with the disconnector issue. Is the slide not going into battery smoothly? Do you have issues of not firing because the disconnector's engaged when the slide is fully forward? There could be a number of issues causing that. The recess cut under the slide where the disconnector rides on could be too shallow. Disconnector could be too long. The bottom locking lugs could be cut too shallow so the slide is not moving far enough forward, or it could be a simple matter of the leaf spring too tight. You can try polishing the disconnector and adjusting the leaf spring and see what happens. Depending how competent you are, you can fix the slide to frame overhang and shorten the extractor so it doesn't protrude that much. You will need to media blast to get the finish back. If you are not confident on toying with the trigger assembly, easiest approach is cash in on your warranty and have Springfield fix it. I don't think it should've left their assembly line that way.
  4. I snagged a few bxs at another Dick's. Empty by the time I left. The 2 guys behind me bought the remaining 45s. Wish I was closer to Princeton.
  5. Looks good. I think I'm gonna give it a whirl too. If too sharp, I'll break down the points with some light sanding. I noticed you got the non-beveled version. Planning to add a magwell?
  6. I enjoyed the echoing in the streets. Great movie. I too have the special edition. Classic raw movie magic. Helped me in deciding on my 92FS.
  7. Thank you for posting this. I needed a good laugh to end the day.
  8. Did you have the guy scan the barcode? My place usually does as the price tags are usually wrong and all over the place.
  9. Are you referring to a scene from "I am Legend"? I was curious what that clicking noise was.
  10. Are those the empty boxes after they sold out everything? LOL! Nice. I was wondering where all the PMCs were going. I thought I was crazy for buying a case of shotshells during November. Was only planning to keep ~500rds of each caliber I need and restock when I hit below 100. Boy was I wrong. I need a bigger tank and increase my min reserve.
  11. Needless to say, the current situation is affecting a lot of people. Some more, some less. I was in no way prepared for this poop storm and am only starting to grasp the pattern of supply and demand whether it be by politics or horrific events. This is only year 1 for me so I still have much to learn.
  12. Say it ain't so. I want a motorcycle now. Can't use the HOV lane though. LOL!!!
  13. Reloading, although expensive to start, is the same as a handgun or rifle. Eventually you'll recoop the cost. I don't have to pay taxes for making my own. Been collecting brass, so that in itself is the first step I've taken. And when arthritis kicks in or my eyes just aren't what they're use to, I can unload the press and supplies pretty easily. I've just needed the extra push to dive into it. I think this is it.
  14. I think RayRay was looking for most realistic scenes, not ridiculous scenes. Equalibrium, although jaw dropping, is unrealistic. Something like actors playing spec ops shooting full auto with their eyes closed.
  15. You just gave me dejavu when you mentioned surround sound. Watching in DTS was awesome!
  16. OMG! Just gonna start reloading at this stage. Sitting down for 2hrs reloading is better than waiting 2hrs on line to an empty shelf. I haven't done that yet, nor do I plan to. If it exceeds 15mins from them opening the door to empty shelves, I'm out.
  17. At this stage, let'em buy high and when the prices fall, let it bites them in the ass. I'm done looking. Tired of it. Midas well re-winterize my gear and put them back into hibernation.
  18. Sux to hear. Maybe it'll stay on the shelves this time. I hate going to empty shelves. 4 weeks and going. I remember seeing Remy brass sitting on the shelves several weeks because they were priced at $39.99. Must be a mis-pricing on the system, but eventually someone grabbed them.
  19. My SR came with the KAC ambi safety. I didn't notice myself using it so much until I finished building my second lower w/o an ambi safety. To my surprise, I was reaching for the right side with my trigger finger to flip the safety on. It wasn't there. As the other posters have commented, you inadvertantly get use to it and notice issues when it's been changed. I have not noticed issues with any ambi-safeties I've used, but my friend commented that mine with a clearance cut on the paddle area made it more comfortable. I can see that my hand would touch the safety if the recess wasn't there. No biggie in my opinion. Stick with what works. I wouldn't recommend KAC unless price is not an issue.
  20. Now are you talking about depicting the most accuracy to real life training or just lead rain? Accurate depiction: HEAT (downtown scene and ending scene, nuf said) Collateral, particularly this scene. Wearing the unlimited ammo bandana (only video gamers will understand, sorry), Shoot Em' Up.
  21. "Here's your sign". If you had to whip out a sledge hammer to get a pin in, wouldn't that raise a flag? He also needs to donate his Dremel and all other power tools he owns.
  22. I got a dog, kids and a recent newborn. MPro-7's got no scent and non-toxic. I save my stinky ammonia stuff for build-up I can't get off. Since I've started using MPro, never really needed to touch the other stuff. I don't use aerosol products to limit airborne particles. Don't use Ballistol so don't know about that.
  23. +1. This current shortage is definitely affecting me. I don't want to be a stalker but seems like that's the only way for me to get anything these days without being gouged. 4wks now I've tried finding lead to feed my gear to no avail. Empty shelves. Same camper issues at my local Dick's clearing out the shelves when a shipment comes in. I have only a small nest egg of lead. If I go to 2 or 3 matches this year, then I'm clean out. If I can't find supplemental source to replenish, I'm hunkering down what I have left. My 22lr was suppose to be the fun and cheap plinker in tough times. Could never have imagined even that's gone. At current rates, I won't be able to fund my hobby. Gonna have to focus on other hobbies. Fishing.....
  24. Finally got my Stag LPK with FCG. Fit and finish were good. No complaints and e vrything installed without a hitch. The pivot pin and takedown pin were a bit stiff from the detent, but will break in smoothly. Mag catch and bolt release neede no adjustments. FYI. This was installed in a Spike's lower.
  25. So, based on all the movies you've seen, what scenes have you watched that actually have some thought put into it before shooting the scene? The one memorable to me was the scene where Tom Cruise was engaging 2 thugs in the alley way. Drew from concealment, single tap on first perp from hip, followed by a two handed double on the second perp, followed by follow up single on the first perp. Such a short scene but perfect execution. Not some over exagerated movie shot. HEAT also had some great scenes.
