  1. So wait.. you won't use Google because of their business practices but you can't wait to see what Microsoft is doing??? I think my head just exploded.
  2. A certain amount of revisionist history going on here. When Apple first came out with the iPhone.. and especially the 3G version it was way ahead of it's time. Look at the market at the time: Blackberry, and Windows mobile were it. You certainly can't say "From a technology standpoint, they are always inferior and obsolete to the competition." At that time Apple was revolutionary with the iPhone. The market place is much more competitive now, mainly due to Android.. but lets give credit where it's due. Note: I'm an iPhone user.. have had a 3G and 4. I'm hardly a Fanboi.. I want android and the other hardware vendors to succeed since I believe competition drives innovation. As for the iPhone 5.. I may upgrade, I may not. I certainly won't be waiting in a line just to get the one first. Absolutely no desire.
  3. Then complained when we hit their embassy. To paraphrase Kennison, "maybe if the pilots had more fn sleep"
  4. I agree with the benefit of hindsight. I know they tried. And there are pictures of the attempts. Big brass ones, those test pilots.
  5. I think that applies to separate sections of the same bag, right? Say, a Range bag? Mags in outside pocket of range bag, gun (in a zipped up "bag") in the main section of the range bag. Range bag in trunk.
  6. With respect to the F14 you've got to remember that times had changed. The F14 was designed to carry the Phoenix and protect the fleet from waves of Russian bombers beyond their engagement range. Once the cold war ended the Navy had to ask themselves whether that role was worth the high cost (both in $$ and footprint). They did try to keep the F14 and adapt it to new roles (aka Bombcat) but the Super Hornet could do almost everything nearly as well for a lot less cost. As for the Navalized F-111.. It's not like they buried it.. GD couldn't adapt a ground-based strike aircraft to meet the requirements of a carrier-based interceptor. A lot of that work found its way into the F14, however.
  7. We were also talking about NYPD in another thread. Don't assume we are the best. The Russian aviators are good. Either way the concern isn't the Russians but a little further east. If your going to compare planes the the Su35 and Mig35 are contenders to the F15. All three have been heavily updated since the original models.
  8. Can storing a Semi automatic pistol with the slide back cause problems? I just realized when I checked my safe the other day that I left my P226 with the slide locked back. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary but I could see Spring issues with it being left that way for a few weeks.
  9. There are some SU-27/35 pilots that beg to differ. The F15 is a fanstic fighter but the modern Russian fighters can't be dismissed so quickly. The Su-35BM, for example, looks like it would give the F15 a run.. all else being equal (pilot, training, ,C2, ROE..etc).
  10. Another? At least you have one. Best I can do is read this thread and drool on my keyboard until my budget allows. Jealously tastes.. bitter..
  11. F15 definitely a fantastic fighter, and has proven its adaptability over and over. Continuous updates/enhancements allow an airframe originally designed in the 60's to still compete with more recent fighters.. Strike Eagle, AESA, Silent Eagle.. The F15 ACTIVE stuff is pretty damn cool too (canards and thrust vectoring).
  12. Those two statements are not known facts. The articles I've seen say the pharmacist pulled out his weapon when the robber was at the counter and reached for what looked like a handgun in his waistband. We also don't know when the robber started to flee relative to the pharmacist firing his weapon. Finally, I haven't seen anything saying they caught the suspect so we don't know if he was hit. The investigation is still ongoing.. lets not hang, or exonerate this guy based on guesses. Nothing I have read makes me think he acted irresponsibly. Some articles say that the shooting occurred outside, others are not so clear.
  13. At least he got the last sentence right. What's incorrect? I highlighted what I thought was incorrect in bold but those statements don't change the context of the post. Nor does the post really have anything to do with the issue at hand.
  14. You seem to know what you want.. check out NewEgg for some options as well.
  15. From the ABC version of the story http://abclocal.go.c...ocal&id=8808156 The Camden County Prosecutor's office tells Action News that one man entered the business and demanded a prescription painkiller, Oxycontin, from the owner, pharmacist John Agyemang. Rather than comply with the demand, prosecutors say, Agyemang pulled out a handgun and fired several times at the man.</p>
  16. Interesting article on this very subject: http://publiceditor.blogs.nytimes.com/2012/09/11/how-to-cover-the-11th-anniversary-of-911/
  17. You know there is already a day to remember that, right? Ask anyone who was alive then and they can still tell you exactly where they were. That's after 70 years. Should we be surprised the scars from a similar event are still fresh after a mere 11? The biggest difference between the two events is that if this was 11 years after Pearl we would have already dropped 20 kilotons and ended this mess. As to the coverage, Even now more and more of the media is about the rebuilding. As it should be.
  18. Thanks for the feedback guys! Will have to check him out.
  19. Too late. It's already been recruited for the CCPD-Metro division.
  20. May have had something to do with the fact that the cell towers fell with the rest of the WTC. As for the topic at hand: I don't know what to be more concerned about, The possible abuse of this by the government.. or the fact that Apple originally patented this technology for use by the MPAA
  21. Sure it will.. it draws them in range. Attacker: "Does that Mace have a label?" Me: "Sure it does. Here, look...." Attacker: <Looks closer, wide-eyed> Me: <bzzzzzzzzzt> Attacker: "AHhhhhhh!"
  22. Has anyone dealt with The Way It Was Sporting Services in Moorestown? I'm looking for a gunsmith to do some work on my late father's Rem 760 Roberts. I found the listing on The Google but no real reviews or information. If not there then are there any gunsmiths around 08054 or 08057 you would recommend?
  23. True.. but that's what I thought when I got my other firearms too..
  24. There's a reason it is called International Waters. The US can't really squawk about an Iranian boat off our coast in international waters since we do the same thing over there. In fact, it may be a great opportunity if we accepted them with our arms open.. a few port calls could do wonders for interacting with the Iranian crew (vs their wackjob government). Either way, I'm sure they won't be alone..
