  1. Thanks... So far I tried two types.. The second type I specifically asked for a hot .22 for use in and AR Upper. I'll post the type whe I get home... It is like the extractor is not grabbing the round to extract it... It is leaving a round chambered as if it slipped off the rim or did not engage on to pull out the empty case. The next round strips off the mag but can not chamber since the empty is still in place.
  2. So far only three people have pm'ed me for the email to forward you reciept to for a karma prize. Also if anyone has stuff they do not need let me know and I will try to find a new home for it with a new NJ2AS member... Everyone has stuff they not longer need use... Let's set a goal of 25 new members by September 1st... What do you think????
  3. So fourth time to the range today and my dedicated spikes .22 upper is averaging 2-3 failures to extract per 15 round mag. The gun jams with a new round trying to load and a round still chambered. I have to drop the mag and loose chamber round, close the action and then open it to extract the round on a second attempt... How do I go about trouble shooting this.. I notice it happens more with my 12 years old shooting... Could he be "limp writing" the rifle? But it happens too me as well.

  10. I was motivated to join NJ2AS by a news story how MD will become Shall Issue on Aug 11th. It got me thinking how i can help.. perhaps I can motivate a few others to join as well.. I have been collecting firearms for 20 years and have collected closets full of stuff related to firearms. I will give then next 5 people to join NJ2AS a free gift worth $10-$20. I have tones of Glock, beretta and 1911 mags, speed loaders, holsters, do dads, gadgets and ect. Let me know what kind of firearm you have and I will try to send you something appropriate. I will try to make it a good fit and give you a choice if possible.. Also if you have karma items to donate let us know. If this takes off maybe you could give away karma gifts to a few people as well. ( proof of joining is required)
  11. If Maryland can go from almost non existent "May issue" like we here in NJ to "Shall issue" perhaps there is hope for us as well. http://mobile.fredericknewspost.com/displayNews.htm?storyID=138666&IX=0 After reading this I joined the NJ2AS today. I had been wanting to join for awhile but made excuses to join next month, then the next. If there in anyone who can get us a win here in NJ it is the NJ2AS. http://nj2as.com
  12. Thanks for posting... I found it interesting...
  13. Keep me posted on the NJ to PA OC road trip...
  14. The 4th row down has the initial and renewal cost for each state I have or would eventually like to get. It comes out to be about $100/year average.... The last column has the average cost per state. http://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-J_dc9v1RyEg/UBFse59aMwI/AAAAAAAAZ7g/UzXY0uZHPes/s2048/IMAGE_AC087951-9D91-473D-87F8-30638807F405.PNG Them main reason I am getting them is because I enjoy it... Some people collect stamps... Others collect 1911 or glocks.. That said I do like to carry on the states permit whenever possible. 1)You are exempt from the 1000' Gun Free School Zone when on an in state CCW Permit. 2) Reciprocity Is in a constant state of flux so it is good to have a backup. 3) Not all cops are familiar with what states have reciprocity or they may want to verify a permit. An in state permit may be less cause for concern and less hassle for me. 4) PA carry laws change during a declared state of emergency unless you have a PA CCW (LTCF as they call it). Do other states have the same type laws?? I have not idea but I do know declaring a state of emergence happens more the you would think do to floods and hurricanes, ect. Again, the local CCW permit is preferable. I travel often so all the permits average out to around $100 year so it is worth it to me...
  15. Virginia, Arizonia and FL CCW applications all went in the mail May 29th Utah went in mail June 3( took class at GFH June 2nd) Arizonia came July 6th, Florida came July 12th Virginia came July 25th July 9th I mail out applications for N.H., Main and CT as you needed to already have a CCW to apply. N.H. came July 16th. (7 days door to door) http://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-oSA1eEWYxEs/UBCjh-A9iKI/AAAAAAAAZ7U/Jg_WqeBHhG4/s2048/IMAGE_6A0F704C-E272-45C6-81F6-E61B884380BF.JPG
  16. I really hope so... If not I would feel really stupid... Again!!!. . A different officer in town tricked me once before. I had a dispute with a TV repairman who was at the house. After disagreeing about a repair price for 15minutes.( I had a estimate in writing) I asked him to step outside and discuss it. I then shut the door behind him and said If he wants to pursue the matter any further we would have to do so in small claim court. He went to the Police and reported the incident. The police came and very nicly said the repairman reported an incident. While At the front door the officer ask if he could come inside and talk. He stepped in the foyer, then said can we go and discuss it in the library. Once in the library he said the repairman claimed I got a a rifle from my library and threatened him to leave while pointing it at him. As it turns out I have a replica western display with a replica Winchester in the library. This was visible to the repairman while in the house and now the police are in my house with the gun in there hand inspecting it... I felt played afterward. I never would have let them in otherwise. The only thing that saved me was I said I had cameras in the house and I can't wait to sue the repair co... Next thing I know they are recanting the whole firearm part of the complaint... I bluffed about the camera... They are up but not recording at that time.
  17. ( This is just my experience picking up my PPP, skip it if you bore easily, no yawns.. You hav been warned) I got a letter from my town (Franklin Lakes) informing me my PPP was ready for pickup. I went down to the station and was escorted into what looked like the interrigation room. I recently applied for CCW permits with 5 states as well as for a C&R FFL. I waited a good 5-10 minutes. My mind is starting to think worst case scenarios. Eventually Sgt Cook comes in asks for my license and leaves. A few minutes later returnes and places the three permits in front of me and advise me to read and confirm all info on them. This was not the standard protocol. Previously I just picked up at the front counter. By this time I could read his tone and it was friendly, my palms stopped sweating so I asked about the Change in ppp pickup procedure. He said they recently got a call from the state police about another resident that purchased a gun in dec and a gun in January but not 30 days apart. And wanted to explain the law to make sure everyone understood. He then went on to say the njsp wanted them to make an arrest but the FLPD felt it was an honest mistake and declined saying he was a decent guy and what not. Personally I did not realize the onus was on the buyer to comply I thought it would be flagged and not go thru if you went early.) I then asked if he new anything about my FFL application. He said he recalled seeing it and would check. He left and came back with my file. ( yes they have a file on me. I peeked over as he thumbed thru it. They had my Ppp apps, my FFL app, there were sticky posts attached to pages, ect) After looking it over he said they had no issues with my getting it but that if was a federal lic and not up to them. He said th chief was fine with residents having firearms. He asked my what it was for so I explained how in NJ they were useless but when I travel out of state how I could use it, I told him about 10% discounts, ect. We then talked about the ccw lic in other states, crime in our town, his retirement plans, ect. I spent 40 minutes talking with him... Very friendly and not the least bit anti gun. He even mentioned pulling people over carrying with out of state permits and just telling them to put it in the trunk locked up while in NJ. I explained the whole transport to PA for lawfull purpose verses exempt activity to which he was un aware. I really enjoyed speaking with him. My wife later said he was a good detective and got a lot more info for my file that he could not have gotten otherwise.. I hate to be so sinicle could she be right? Does my file have a bigger yellow sticky that says " Firearms Enthusiest " use caution Would you advise to just politely check over the ppp for errors as requests, sign and leave. I was thinking to shoot the breeze with the officer so he can put a face with the Permitt and feel comfortable about me moving forward for future request from a normal guy. Did I meet a great pro 2A officer or was I skillfully fleeced of Info for that folder they have on me?.. ( it tha legal?)
  18. It took almost 6 weeks to the day but they are finally approved and ready for pickup. Now what to buy and where.?? I'm trying to expand my CCW options. I currently have a G27 which is as big as I would want to carry and a NAA Guardian .380(very heavy) which I would like to remove from the active rotation. I have three permits and with one I would like to get a NAA .22WMR revolver for ultra deep carry when the only other option is to not carry. That leaves 2 permits to fill in my options between the NAA .22 and my G27. Perhaps one of the new light pocket 9mm's and one of the pocket .380's? Any suggestions for either? Also, if you could recommend a cheap FFL in north jersey or near cherry ridge range to do an online transfer that would be terrific...
  19. I regret opening a site bashing thread.. I'd like to just close it if possible.
  20. MIPAFOX, Knight0334 absolutely is an extremist. You can not even Mention bringing your gun to PA for CCW purpose under FOPA. Check out his the latest sticky on the subject. Anycase, let's focus on the positive topics here... I'm sure there are a lot of great guys and gals over there... This is a negative energey thread. I opened when i was bitter over feeling i was unfairely booted. I'd like it closed if possible. Nothing good will come of it.
  21. I don't think it is like PA.. OK... I just joined a S.C. Forum... I'll ask the group... I have spent quite a bit of time in S.C. and never saw anyone... Then again in PA I have only seen one guy in the past 3 years.
  22. I got this from them almost 10 years ago.. http://www.deansafe.com/vli-41214-s-qv.html My turn knob is different and it say " Dean Security Safe Co" instead of Vline. Other then that is is identical.
