  1. If you have nothing constructive to add skip my posts.. Your morality opinion was neither requested or appreciated.
  2. Gentleman, I don't need lecturing on my Personal Purchasing Decisions.. I am fine with purchasing a replica optic, especially having already purchased the OEM version. I would have liked to have a discussion on training and use of said optics but these overzealous righteous morality opinions have spoiled my post. I really don't think this rises to the level of being taboo to even discuss. You need to respect and accept that people's purchasing decisions may differ from your own.. Having done so if you have nothing constructive to add to a post just skip it and move to the next one.... I don't have the time or energy to keep explain my opinion on this... If anyone has questions / comments on the use or functions of these optics I'll be happy to answer them other wise let's just close this topic and move on to something else. I spend time on this site to get a break from my wife's nagging... I'm starting to think perhaps she is a member...
  3. I came up short on mine. I had the barrel cut back to 14 1/2" and then pinned the break. I really liked the look of no exposed barrel showing but now am regretting it... currently looking at options to slightly extend the thin butpad a 1/4" or cut and replace the 2 1/2" break with a longer one.... if anyone has a lead on a cool 2 3/4" - 3" break please let me know... everything I see is under 2 1/2" or over 4". Nothing in between that is appropriate. Shown with original Buttpad.
  4. These are packaged with the OEM markings covered so as to minimize the risk of confiscation. Reality is it is just not an issue with a small package no matter how much u want to pretend t is. Many companies offer lower end "civilian" versions of there military spec products. I paid Trijicon and Eotec $1500 and $1000 respectively for their optics. So until they offer a cost effective training options I will sleep just fine with my purchase decision. Many people have a .22lr clone of their primary battle rifle to use for training. It is beneficial to have the controls as identical as possible to practice the manual of arms and build muscle memory. Making this an excellent setup for training. If your personal conviction prevent you from making such a purchase that's fine. I think a majority of people would consider such a purchase and enjoy discussing it here but are hesitant due to the judgmental tone of some replies. This country is offering acceptance and recognition of almost every group and personal identification there is. It is time for " knock off optic purchasers" or KOOP's to demand acceptance of their "personal purchase decisions" or PPD's. Please click "Like" I f your are a KOOP and/or support their right to make PPD's without judgement. ☹️
  5. This is the SBR look... Minus the 13" barrel...
  6. IWI released the flat buttpad for sale, $16. It is the same as the military version of there rifle. Caution: This may put your rifle under 26". Manticore Arms has been making a curved buttpad $69 that does not decrease the overall length. It is more ergonomic but for the price just does not add enough cool factor to be worth it. The stock pad for comparison. IWI also has short forends/rails. Combine these with the slim pad and the soon to be released 13" barrel and you have and awesome SBR package.
  7. The ACOG is illuminated by the fiber optic and the cross hair is clear.. lens is decent.. the RMR looked great.. it is built solid but I doubt any more durable then a typical $100 optic on the internals. The red dot on the Eotech is crisp but not quite 1moa. Closer to 2moa. Postman left it at the front door and it had to warm up a bit to turn on bright. Not sure if it was battery or electronic issue... Well worth the $100 but certainly not in the same class as the real deal. I would rate them like this. Look and feel is 99% Function 70% Reliability 20%
  8. Two of my AR's in 5.56mm having matching AR's in .22LR that I setup as close as possible match each other for training purposes. Over the past year I upgraded the optics on the 5.56mm rifles to an AGOG and EOTECH which threw off the training compatibility with .22lr guns... I could not justify spending that kind of money on the .22lr rifles so I looked into the knock off versions of each and was very impressed with the quality for the price. I know a lot of people are against it I principle but since I purchased the real versions i don't feel bad... AimPoint makes two version of there magnifier and several others as well make Pro/military and civilian versions... Eotech and Trijicon could benefit from doing the same... Any case I got the knockoffs from Www.shootercbgear.com They shipped airmail from Hong Kong and arrived in 5 days and when I ordered. The FDE colored optics are the real deal. Black are the knockoffs.
  9. Speaking of latitude I could not find a local FFL to sell me a pistol in NJ wth a Florida DL even though they new it as not against the law...
  10. If the tax bill does not work. Switch you DL to PA and get a NJ Boat lic with your NJ address. Best of both worlds. The boat lic works with NJ nics system so you won't have an issue buying guns in NJ if you need to.
  11. Bergen has the best shooters... Just say'in
  12. Called A.R.M.S today.. they had me test on three other rifles.. All with similar issues. Is has to go back to them to get adjusted.. They are factory preset...
  13. The QD levers on my A.R.M.S. #19 LD mount are extremely tight. I can get them closed but need to use a tool to pry them open. Nothing "Quick" about it. I googled the web and searched the manufacture website for instructions on how to adjust these but nothing is available... There are thru pins that can be punched out to remove the levers but would not be an easy task and even then not sure it it is the correct way to adjust. Are these perhaps preset at factory and not adjustable? Close up of Pins that can be punched out to remove levers..
  14. What profile do you have on the Noveske and LaRue barrels?
  15. Excellent reply, exactly what I was looking for. Thank you... I'll check out Odin works for sure... The Red X barrel was mounted on the receiver at the factory. Odds are it was done correctly. It is just a low end budget barrel.... it has to go!!
  16. I understand but I will likely want to replace current barrel regardless with a lighter profile and the SS is not the look I want anymore. I only paid $89 for it. What brands do to you recommend that I start looking at as a good value and/or best in class options. Bellow pricing is what I see at Brownels and such. Am I summing it up about right for what I should expect to pay for a quality barrel capable of 1 moa accuracy? Budget barrels $79 -$150 Quality material barrels run $150-$250. Accurized barrels run $$250 - $500 Specialty / Designer name Barrels $500 and up.
  17. About 5 years ago I built a custom AR-15 using all quality parts. Everything was sourced with top notch components excet for the barrel. I ended up using a company called. "Red-X", out of business now, and got a Stainless Steel heavy barrel profile but accuracy is only 2-3 MOA at best. I'd like to replace as few as possible parts to turn the rifle into something on par the my recently purchased LWRC IC-SPR in terms of accuracy which is approximately 1 MOA using Black Hills 68Gr. MatchKing HP ammo. I'm thinking a new barrel and possible BCG? Can anyone recommend what is needed to turn this rifle around into the tack driver I was dreaming of...
  18. Wow, all that from running his gun range, plus a paintball park and go kart track.... it don't figure. Article on him: http://www.roadsideamerica.com/story/23576
  19. ^This is what do as well... no need for special stops... perhaps if I was driving down to Florida but even then I would do it at the first required fuel/bathroom stop not a specific stop to holster up. Discretely bring the firearm from the trunk to the passenger compartment and saddle up... I often pocket carry a small .380 in PA so I can place it in my pocket while standing outside the vehicle and vice versa when putting it back in the trunk with out attracting attention. The point is you need to be discrete. Alway assume someone is watching you...
  20. I got the OK from the misses as well but the hive would have to go on the outside of out backyard fence... There is a 100' wide Rockland Electric easement through the back of our property and we do not use that part of lot. It gets afternoon sun.. I put a smudge on the picture of where the hive would need to go.
  21. What does the hive setup look like? Can you post a picture. I would consider this...
  22. Thanks... i will check them out for sure....
  23. I have a nice little 15 year old Black Bear I would like to get repaired. He has taken a few boot kicks to the noise over the years and his coat has thinned out a bit.. He is almost exactly 5-0' from the tip of his nose to the tail bump. Any info on the following would be greatly appreciated. What is he worth? About how much can I expect to pay to fix nose and add some fur? Where is a good taxidermist in North Jersey.( Bergan)
  24. Thanks for all the legal advise.... Got a lawyer lined up and a court Date set for April.... As for my son, He was the only senior on the school bus this morning and he will be on it for the foreseeable future.
  25. My son is 17 with a restricted lic... He got a speeding ticket for doing 88mph in a 55mph on RT 208 in Franklin Lakes ( Bergan County)( Violation 39:4-98 .34) fine is $240. If I hire an attorney it is worth it? I'd be happy if they could get the points reduced or Maybe I should just pay the ticket online and avoid the hassle of showing up for court? Do I need a good$ lawyer or just any lawyer? Letters just started coming in the mail from attorneys citing a specific charge and summons numbers offering consultation. I guess they pull the public records. Any advice, please....
