  1. If you want to shoot it let me know. I'm in central nj. I have elcans on most of my short range guns. Best optic for 300yd and in IMO. Works like a red dot on 1x and there is no POI shift when you move to 4x. Sent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk
  2. You could have just got the regular version (not the ban state model) and twisted the FH off with some pliers. I put a Battlecomp on mine, and have found the Elcan DR 1-4 to be a perfect optic for the rifle.
  3. This is what I'm going with...
  4. I'm gona chime in with the voice of dissent here even though it won't be the popular opinion. I have a Gen 4 G23 and a complete Gen 4 G19 slide to go with it so I can shoot both calibers (not that you need the whole slide, I just happened to find one cheap). Gun goes bang every time for sure, but I find it to be the least enjoyable and (for me) the least accurate of my handguns. I find the recoil of the 40sw to be worse than other handguns in the same caliber, and even in 9mm for whatever reason I am more accurate and comfortable with almost any other pistol. This isn't to say that the Glock isn't capable of good groups, but for whatever reason I can't get it to do that. I can shoot holes in holes with a few handguns, and would suggest at least shooting these before deciding on the glock: Sig 226/229 CZ75 FNX Beretta 92/96 HK USP (this one is highly dependent on which trigger you choose) HK P30 ^ S&W M&P I have most of these sitting in the safe if you want to meet up for a trial shoot. I'm not a glock hater I just shoot better with most other guns.
  5. I got a week membership to Galves to help a friend who wants to trade in their car. This gives a rough estimate of what a dealer paid for any given used car on their lot. It is what most dealers use to also base what they will offer you for your trade. If you are looking at getting rid of your car or looking to buy a used car and want a place to start your negotiations shoot me a pm. Also, you can purchase directly from galves.com if you see this after mine has expired. I don't work for Galves and am not trying to buy your car, just thought I would post and try to help anyone in the process of buying a car.
  6. I sent you a pm. Let me know if interested.
  7. The mags are The mags can be finicky (gota really make sure they are seated well) which is a shame considering how much the rifle is. That being said it wasn't enough of an issue to detract me. I've only had an issue on one reload. They do have 10rd short action mags now although they are very hard to find. As far as the trigger goes I feel ya on that one. I use Geisselle SSA triggers in all my AR's so Im used to the 2 stage. The DTA trigger is adjustable though and I have it set at about the second break on an SSA. Again took getting used to but I am comfortable with it now. All in all I have adapted more to this gun than any other I have owned save one (Tavor) but now that I am used to it I really enjoy it and plan to use it to its full capability in a few classes.
  8. The DTA def isnt for everyone. The bolt placement is awkward until you get used to it. I shot another forum members a couple years ago and using his technique I got hooked on the rifle. Very happy with it so far. The caliber changing capability of the DTA is what sealed the deal for me. 6 calibers in one rifle is a huge win IMO. I'm looking for a 6.5 and 338LM barrel now.
  9. My DTA SRS A1. Now it has a SilencerCo brake on it. Shoots lights out as far as I have been able to shoot (340yd) and am looking forward to stretching it out to 1k.
  10. Very nice. I was down to the AI or the DTA. I will probably wind up picking up an AI at some point as well.
  11. Carbine version of the mpx available on gunbroker in the 1500 range. Sent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk
  12. 1/4x. I really like these optics, have em on my 16s and 17s as well. For 300yd in they are the best I have found. Cerakote job was done by Backwoods Custom Coatings in Whiting.
  13. Thanks everyone! I'm stoked with how it came out.
  14. I got bored with the black on mine and just had it refinished in woodland. I have almost 2k rds thru her with no issues. Mag in pic is blocked obviously. Battlecomp 1.0 MA gasketed gas port cover MA curved butt pad MA Rail Geissele Sabra & Bow Elcan DR Here she is:
  15. My vote would be Tavor. This is a really old pic but its a 16" tavir vs a 16" ar and 14.5" ar.
  16. In any retail shop the key is this...hiring staff that leaves an impression on customers so that they come back to the store even f you aren't the cheapest, most convenient, etc. My family owns small businesses and I make my living in corporate retail and I try and impress this on my employees daily.
  17. Hi, sorry haven't been around as much as I used to be. Shore Army Navy (my families store) in Seaside Heights has them for $16 for NJGF members. Just tell them you are a member when you go in.
  18. Not to say BCM isnt a great company, rifle builder. I'm just saying if you go used you can go top tier (Noveske, KAC, etc) for not much more. I recently got an sr-15 for $1500. Bought a like new Noveske for the same price. All my Noveske rifles out shoot my BCM and DD rifles, and the KAC is the same accuracy as DD/BCM but doesnt even feel like you are shooting it. Just my opinion.
  19. I wouldn't go so far as to say BCM is the end all be all of AR manufacturers in this price point. Remove the T1 and light and you are in the $1300 price bracket, which buys you alot of AR right now.
  20. I have a BCM EAG upper and its performed extremely well. I bought it used but only paid around $600 for it with bcg/ch IIRC. Worth every penny of that in my opinion. Wound up swapping the rail on it but thats just personal preference.
  21. STI as other said, or hold out and wait for a great deal on a used Wilson Combat or Ed Brown. I recently picked up a great condition Wilson CQB for under 2k. Shoots fantastic and is the smoothest 1911 I own, better than the Ed Brown, STI, or Springfield IMO.
  22. Picked this guy up with my last permit. Im too lazy to dig out pics of everything else. It's a fantastic shooter.
  23. I was wearing a Tier One Defense T on Wed and the checkout lady asked me about it when I was purchasing my stuff. I told her it was a shop up north and she got all interested lol. Never know when you are going to find a pro 2A'er. His T's are really nice btw. Super soft cotton. Also have T's from GSSC, Howell Gun Works, and CJRPC.
  24. Own 7/10 Missing: Browning: On the list SW: Never heard of it before just now. Walther: I've looked at em but never pulled the trigger I don't really agree much with the list though. Of the guns listed the only one I love is the 226. I like my cz75, MK3 is ok, 92 is ok, hate my g19, My p38 and Colt 1911 are historical items that I don't shoot. Personally I find much better options in the current 1911 market than Colt.
  25. I have the PRO CORE and love it. Still not as fast with the red dot on top as I am with irons but I don't practice as much as I should. Gun has been flawless with about 1k rds downrange though. The lengthened slide def helps with follow up shots.
