  1. Once a bid is placed you can't close the auction early and relist. Thus if you make a mistake in the title, which can't be edited in Gunbroker, the only way to clarify is a added comment in the description. Once there is a bid, you can't cancel it and relist/correct. Folks are hammering the guy saying it as intentional yet he has 187 transactions, all with positive feedback. I agree with paul...I see 500 2x in the fine print. Another clue is $20 shipping for 5,000 rounds. This is a case of not reading the fine print versus a scam.
  2. Easy to do business with and communicated well.
  3. Just got an e-mail thattheu will be having .223 (Winchester 223 Remmington Match 69Gr Ranger Boattail Match) and .40 (Winchester 40 S&W 165 gr. Ranger Bonded) going up today. No prices but they have not been gouging in the past.
  4. Communicated well.....flexible in meeting...added a freebie.....and was a great guy! Pleasure meeting you and I appreciate your generosity.
  5. Its crap like this that makes responsible gun owners get lumped in with the unresponsible...
  6. All the posts are worthless for comparison if you don't know the coverage levels..... What threshold......coverage amounts..............deductibles.............number of cars..........number of drivers. Otherwise it's like saying "I bought three case of ammo for $1000" and others telling you if you or a deal or not. Limited.......250/500/250 full coverage including state max on PIP.........$100 ded for comp/col/liability/........2 cars (2012 SUV's).....2 driver over 25 no accidents = $2038 a year.......Ameriprise ( through American Express through Costco). NJM wants $2800 for the same coverage for us. For that price I can almost get the unlimited threshold!
  7. There is no legal standing for any legal action against the restoration company. The only party with standing against them is the entity that hired them. The county is where pressure should be applied and then on the state level.
  8. Everyone says a USPS MO gives you protection because if he doesn't ship it's fraud. Great theory but it is far from true. In fact, it will never happen. Last year ZERO were prosecuted on a single sale that went south. Mail fraud is a federal charge.....and can only be charged in federal court. That means you need a federal law enforcement agency with the authority to charge such. Then the charge has to be filed in the jurisdiction where the fraud was.....which is where the seller is located. That means a trip by you to the local office. Then they have to present to the case to a United States Attorney for prosecution.....get an arrest warrant or grand jury indictment.....arraign them......sentencing........and prison/probation. You also have to prove intent....meaning the seller intended to rip you off. I won' touch that as its another can of worms that gets complicated. So lets break this down..... 1). Federal agency: That leaves you open to three choices in this case: ATF, FBI and USPI. For those not in the know, the ATF won't take it since there is no violation of any gun laws...it's a general fraud. The FBI won't touch it since its a single victim with low dollar loss and no public appeal. Finally, the USPIS will not take it either unless the MO was altered or is a counterfeit. The USPIS is not a local agency that handles what is considered minor losses. The duties focus on drugs, illegal currency, shipping illegal items, and theft of items sent. Ceratin cases don't get worked due to minimal dollar value and that ranges by jurisdiction but typically its at least $10k. Calls are made every day claiming mail fraud.......and those folks are referred to your local civil court. So your case is dead here...but for fun....lets move along. 2) Jurisdiction: The "crime" is where the seller gets paid and doesn't send the item. Not sure how much your deal is....but does it cost less than travel and hotel for you AND you FFL to make a trip? Since both are required for an affidavit since you can't say you didn't actually get unless you FFL says the same, both have to be there. Likely the cost of travel, food, hotel and paying your FFL for their time away will exceed the cost of the transaction. So your case is dead here......but for fun.....lets move along. 3) Court: All federal cases are presented and screened by the US Attorney. Every USAO reviews the case for merit, number of victims, loss to the government, loss to the victim, impact on society as a whole, time, cost their office needs to put into it to resolve, court costs, likely outcome, other reemedies available and deterrent value. Here we have one victim......no loss to the government.......minimal financial loss to one person......no impact on society as a whole......ten hours of a USAO's/supervisors time.........two hours of a judge/clerk/reporter/marshal time.......no prison time for a first offense but a fine of a few hundred to thousand dollars.......cost or probation officer and supervision for sentence.........and the whole thing could be resolved in state small claims making everyone whole at no cost to the US Government. For those who haven't presented a case for prosecution......this is a DECLINATION. Some venues have a threshold you must pass. Some jurisdictions have six figure minimums. If you think any jurisdiction is taking a $1k case where the government has zero loss and state small claims is an available remedy you have no idea how the system works. Again you case is dead here. It doesn't mater if you pay with a corner store, WU or USPS money order. Just get something you can get proof was cashed for small claims court.
  9. Cassis has a .40 as of 12 noon yesterday.
  10. Can somebody show me the line in the article that states DHS has ordered these NH targets? Oh wait...it isn't there! And by the way.....last time I checked, there is no descritpion of a terrorist or bad guy/gal. Kids, women and the elderly can all become a threat. How many here would shoot a pregnant woman without hesittaion if she had a IED vest on in the middle of your living room? What if she is not really pregnant and that baby bump is filled with explosives and shard? has it happened..you bet...just not here stateside. Our military has been using targets like this for years. Nobody cares or says a word. Color shoot/don't shoot targets have been around for years. Add a elederly person, child and pregnant person to the ongoing collection and suddenly they are coming for us all! My neighbor must be coming for all the foam deer with the targets he shoots bow at in his back yard! Wonder why he shoots at them instead of just a outline over some hay.
  11. A company can sell a dozen cases to a store that may or may not reorder in a week or two and pay shipping for each case via common carriers. A company can sell ten pallets to a state agency and save on bulk shipping with a sale four times a year. From a financial and business perspective, I am not turning my back on any sale.
  12. Same thing here.....but my UPS guy at least knocked and waited. He was worried somebody may take it. Found out he is a gun nut too!
  13. $448 from an out of state guy (retail price) and it is here next day for $35 s/h....Dan Clarke Guns in CT.
  14. The county has told them and every news media outlet this when the list was given to them. Theyer were told falt out the accuracy of teh list is less than 50%. They still published it!
  15. It depends on the "field" (retail, service, construction, etc...).
  16. Zero issues...I have on on my Glock and one on my Sig...a few thousand rounds through each with no problem! G2G
  17. Used DPMS AR at EBS was listed for $2K on the shelf......nothing fancy added! And YES...it had a sold tag on it! I bought two Kel-tec Sub 200s a few months back. People laughed when I paid $400 for each, figuring I would keep them as a novelty. I sold both for $800 each. Ues...I doubled my money without an effort by some folks on here who begged me to sell it to them and offered that much. appears they are around that on GB too.
  18. Wasn't this problem solved when they added a 50 post count for selling stuff? What "nebies" are the problem? And I came here new a few months back and joined up, paid for memebership and listed a few things when I joined. Two folks of members respondeD: 1) Folks who knew they were getting a deal; and 2) Folks who were complete idiots, and couldn't read or felt I should take a bath on what I paid for something and sell it at half the price just because they wanted it, I had it and they din't want to pay retail. I met a half dozen senior members on here.....INSTANTLY...and met them all in person. They got a great deal. I got some cash. Two folks who live in this communist state who appreciate weapons got to meet each other face to face, make a new friend, support the cause and the board. How did anybody lose in that situation? When somebody wants the marketplace regulated (who can sell, how often, how much, etc...)........you are nothing more than a socialist!
  19. He is either lying to you.......and/or He is not a small business (Pulling in at least $1.6 MILLION in just AMEX charges to pay that much)........and/or He phone calls in every card purchase and gets a ton of charge backs......and/or He is a terrible business guy and chose a low end/high fee gateway service to process his swipes.... My family owns a "small business" upsate New York and I am very familiar with the credit cards and fees. And any merchant complaining about the fees should not be in business and has a poor business plan, because you should already be charging such in your retail prices. Over 70% of retail is credit card sales. There is rent to pay, electricity, heat, water, insurance, wages, credit card fees, and profit. You figure out what all that averages out to be and you charge such to every purhcase at the same rate. Thats how the prices have been set every eyar since the store opened in the 1940's and it continues today. The business has grown from a shack to 15,000 SQF store and at the end of the day, we have found the Amex vs MC vs. VISA vs. Discover, come in around at a cost to us of American Express operates on a closed loop network. This means that American Express issues credit cards directly to its cardholders, and opens merchant accounts directly for business that accept its cards. American Express discount rates are based on a business's merchant code (MCC). Each MCC has its own rate. So a business pays the Amex month fee of $8 plus the MCC rate on each sale (2.35% to 3.5%) + their processing center rate ($.05 to .50 each transaction). The key is the processing center rate...called a gateway fee...but all that is based on who you select as a vendor, your credit rating and how much business you do. Example: $1,000 reatil charge MMC (2.89% on retail = $0.10) = $28.90 + $0.10 = $29.00 Processing fee: $0.50 Total Merchant Fee: $29 or 2.9% of sale But MC and VISA are no better! They are a closed loop. That means you have to go to a processing center, pay their fees and mark-ups and then pay Visa and MC. They nickel and dime you for everything. Different cards carry different rates but you are required to accept all. You also get dinged for all kinds of other charges that are really never disclosed up front and you learn over time. In Readers Digest terms, a vendord pays off the new 6 tier interchange fees (.03 to $1 per transaction PLUS 1.9% to 3% of the sale) + assessment fees (.011% + access fees ~$.03 per trasnactions) + transaction fees ($0.02). Example: $1,000 retail charge Interchange Fee ($0.10 plus 2%) = $0.10 + $20.00 = $20.10 Assessment fee = $1.10 plus $0.03 = $1.13 Total Merchant Fee: $21.13 or 2.11% of sale Total difference in this example is .79% of the sale. Can it add up..sure! But when you consider those paying with AMEX in my familys store tend to also spend on average, 17% MORE than those with Visa/MC or Discover! They also tedn to be a more repeat customer. So a $1000 customer paying with cash gets a $50 discount and my 20% profit margin of $200 is reduced to $150. So a $1000 customer paying with VISA/MC/Discover gets $0 discount and my 20% profit margin of $200 is reduced $21.13 to $178.87. So a $1000 customer paying with Amex is gets $0 discount and my 20% profit margin of $200 is reduced $29 to $171.00. And on average, that AMEX $1,000 customer will spend $1,117 and my 20% profit margin of $222 is reduced $32.79 to $189.21. Cash is my last choice when you run the numbers and are doing the books 100% legal (where you also get to write off those fees you paid as operating expenses and pay less takes.)!
  20. Very easy to do yourself! Look on Youtibe and see the videos...order from Midway/Brownells and buy $20 in tools. You will be amazed how easy it is with some patience!
  21. That is really a huge stretch of a statistical number. Its not really a standing Amry if there is no organization...no structure.....rules...operations....etc...which there is not. You can claim a even larger one if you rack in everyone in the US with a hunting permit. It means nothing since they are not "standing."
