  1. I have a similar set up. My office is also my gun room. I have a 6' stainless steel work table with LED track lighting overhead for working on the guns. Here is the table (it's discontinued unfortunately): http://www.bhg.com/shop/husky-workbenches-and-workbench-accessories-husky-work-benches-6-ft-stainless-steel-top-workbench-72wb01ss-thd-pb5fe509b729baca5e55c19ec81a698ab.html
  2. I have had good experiences at RTSP. As to customer service, some people are naturally good at it and others have to be taught. I've owned a business for almost 30 years and this stuff is a major peeve of mine. Even if an employee is busy he or she should ALWAYS greet a potential customer. Even if it is to say, "Hi, I'll be with you in a second after I finish this stuff." Or even better, they should drop what they are doing to help the customer OR get someone who can. Just this morning I was at the customer service desk at Home Depot waiting for 3-4 minutes while two employees talked about some merchandising or something else. No, "I'll be right with you." They just completely ignored me while they bantered about.
  3. I have a bunch of these. I give them to my guys to keep in my work vehicles. They are probably more like 100-120 lumens. But they seem to last and I don't care if they get lost.
  4. Last year, I wanted to build a reliable, yet inexpensive AR to use as a beater/truck gun (when out of state, of course). I bought this setup for $379 w. free shipping: http://palmettostatearmory.com/psa-16-stainless-mid-length-1-7-freedom-rifle-kit.html From what I can glean, their Freedom series is a step up from their PTAC series (which does not have a good rep) but below their FN CHF barreled uppers. Is it as nice as my better ARs? No. The bolt carrier has some machine marks on it, the gas key screws weren't staked very well (easy to fix) and the trigger wasn't so hot (I did recently upgrade it to PSA's polished trigger pack.. it's better now). But it goes boom every time and the accuracy is fairly good.
  5. I've done a few. Degrease w. brake cleaner. Tape up and have fun. No, it won't last as long as Duracoat or Cerakote, but the cool thing is you can always easily strip it and do it again.
  6. That's like asking if all doctors or auto mechanics or home builders are equally good. Why would you want to pick the cheapest person to inspect and evaluate a HUGE purchase? I wish I could recommend the guy I used to recommend to everyone, but he moved to FL. Ask around for references. As with guns, cars and hookers, you get what you pay for.
  7. You win for the most ridiculous thing I've read on the intarwebs today!
  8. If you are looking for good quality knives at a decent price, the Chicago Cutlery Centurion line is well reviewed: http://www.amazon.com/Chicago-Cutlery-Centurion-8-Inch-Chefs/dp/B000277Y96 These knives are also a great bang for the buck: http://www.amazon.com/Victorinox-Fibrox-8-Inch-47520-5-2063-20/dp/B000638D32
  9. In my opinion, the best scope you are going to get for under 3 bills is this Konus: http://shop.opticsplanet.com/konus-konuspot-80-80mm-3-1-spotting-scope.html?gclid=Cj0KEQjw7_mrBRDH4Y2UjLHEmfcBEiQA8OTHfzOb-Hy9jI2Ug-CeS4jmxFzIIWGpCoyc4JKY2YTB4JkaAhA78P8HAQ Use the other $70 to buy a nice tripod, because the one that comes w. it is a POS.
  10. Good deal and good company. I bought a case of this a few months ago from them. It was shipped out and in my grubby paws in a few days.
  11. Keep in mind, with FFP scopes the reticle can get real fat at higher magnifications. Most people get used to it... but it does bother others.
  12. True dat. I missed the part where he said he didn't have a riser.
  13. A lot of companies make risers for their stocks (and for the standard M4 stock). But you need to keep charging handle clearance in mind. If you have a short stock or a pinned M4 in short position, there won't be enough room to operate the CH.
  14. Wolf Gold is not identical to M193. It's loaded to a lower pressure... hence the .223 moniker. That said, it is excellent ammo. You really don't need to worry about ammo "accuracy" in an HD scenario. Yes, you have to be on target... but a gun/round that shoots a crappy 10 MOA is only going to be 1" off point of aim at 30 feet. Of course, this is over-simplifying the matter. The point is, you don't need ammo that shoots sub-MOA for HD.
  15. If you don't want to thread the barrel, get a bolt-on brake and weld it on.
  16. Are they finicky to set up or basically plug and play?
  17. It's gone. AR Ammo Panic #2 is in full force. I'll be listing brass cased 5.56 for $600/1000 in a few weeks.
  18. Hmmmmm... looks like it would make a nice car first aid kit bag.
  19. Working link: http://www.tnarmsco.com/ar-style-hybrid-lower-any-color/ I would buy a few of the colored ones (don't care which color since I would rattle-can it anyway) if a dealer here wanted to do a group buy and mark them up for profit.
  20. Use a wide screwdriver or old chisel and hammer around the inside lip of the can. Get about 1/2 around and pop up top. Be careful of sharp edges. Or borrow a purpose-made opener from a friend.
  21. ?? Their website shows it w. a plug: http://www.bravocompanyusa.com/BCM-GUN-FIGHTER-s-Vertical-Grip-SHORT-Black-p/bcm-vg-s-blk.htm Is it an older model?
