  1. Got my Wolf Gold brass-cased this morning. Thumbs up for fast shipping.
  2. I'll echo what others have said about Silver Bullet in Rockaway. I don't know anything about his supposed racism, but I didn't stick around long enough to find out. I walked in, he glanced over the top of his newspaper (could have been a KKK newsletter ) at me then looked back down. I looked at a few things then asked him about his transfer fees. He didn't verbally answer me and rudely pointed to a sign on the wall. Buh bye, asshole.
  3. Damn! That's a lot of sling attachments! You can take the ones on the front sight block off if you are going to use the QD one on your rail. You are better off not using an FSB/barrel mounted sling attachment anyway. If you sling up tight w. a hot barrel, you can actually bend the barrel ever so slightly impacting your Point of Aim. I don't have any advice on single point slings. I tried on once and it kept banging into my wedding tackle as I walked/jogged. You should probably move this (or have a moderator) move it to the Optics and Accessories category. You'll get more answers there. ETA: I just noticed your rail is NOT free-floated. So the farther back you move your sling attachment, the less pressure on the end of the barrel. With a free-floated rail, all the pressure is off the barrel end. You can yank your sling or put downward pressure on your bipod and not worry about changing POA. If the gun is just for fun/plinking, you don't really need to worry about those points.
  4. When you say "female" mount, are you looking for a quick detach (QD)? If so, this guy is made in the USA. And it has a flush push-button to help prevent accidental release if you bump something: http://www.amazon.com/Midwest-Industries-Detach-Swivel-Button/dp/B005NBYZB6/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1424286002&sr=8-2&keywords=sling+swivel+magpul
  5. Don't throw away your hard earned money on junk.
  6. I just bought a case of Wolf Gold from them. They are affiliated with www.the-armory.com
  7. I got ripped off!!!! I got stickers, but no Chapstick!
  8. That box is fine if it is installed correctly. (Residential Contractor for 27 years). What really stresses boxes and can cause them them to loosen or crack the sheetrock around them is unbalanced fans. A good fan kit will come w. weighted balancing clips or shims. Use them if needed.
  9. Surely you don't have the other parts to assemble a complete AR on hand or you wouldn't have posted that picture for the world to see, right?
  10. I hope their stocks are better than their magazines...
  11. I prefer to do the exchange at either of our houses or in a range parking lot. Sure, you could do it in the local Shoprite lot, but keep in mind, this is NJ. If Lauren Soccermom spots the gun, you can be sure she is calling the popo.
  12. What is that funky charging handle? Is it a Picitinny rail? Nevermind... too far back to be a charging handle. But where the heck IS the charging handle?
  13. Front end loader filled with diesel: Check 30 gallons of gas for genny: Check All vehicles full of gas: Check Plenty of wood for the wood stove: Check Fridge and freezer full of delicous animal protein and various other goods to accompany said protein: Check Plenty of books to read: Check And most importantly, booze cabinet filled: Check Bring it on Ma Nature!
  14. If you are going to go the route of wiring the furnace to the genny, make sure your genset puts out relatively clean power. As a contractor, I have several portable generators. The less expensive ones with many hours will not run the furnace because their power is too dirty. The better ones (a Honda and a Yamaha) run it just fine.
  15. I've been very happy w. my Burris PEPR mount on a scoped AR. http://www.opticsplanet.com/burris-ar-tactical-mounts.html Nice quality w/o breaking the bank.
  16. Good thread! I'm not a high speed low drag guy and I don't play one on TV. But I also tried a one point sling for a bit and found the gun knocked all over the place when I was walking or jogging. One smack into my schlong was all it took to convince me two point slings are the way to go. I have a few generics and a few Magpuls (don't remember the model #s), but that VCAS looks like a good product.
  17. Just picked up a kit from them. Nicely finished. I can't comment on fit yet since I haven't put the lower together. I'm going to give that Midwest PX kit a try on my next build.

    Ruger

Diamond are those flip-ups metal (steel or aluminum) or plastic?
  19. I don't really even desire a piston AR.... but at that price I am reconsidering.
  20. Use heavy grade mylar bags then store them in regular buckets. Or use food grade buckets alone. Do NOT just store in mylar. Mice can and will eat right through it.
