  1. Scenario: I have a gun at my FFL. I think I'd like to sell it. Do I have to officially take possession (NICS and transfer) first or can I sell it and have the buyer take possession (NICS and transfer through the FFL)? Obviously, the FFL would have to agree. My question is about legality.
  2. http://www.southernohiogun.com/beretta-model-92s-9mm.html From the website: We received an excellent deal, so we are passing the savings on to you! Made for the Italian Military Police. These have no visible wear and look to be unfired! BEAUTIFUL!
  3. 10/22 is usually on the menu. Safes as well. The latter two, not sure. There are typically good shotgun deals but can't know for sure which models. Though entry level models are usually the big draw (Mossberg 500s, Maverick 88s, Rem 870s, etc)
  4. As part of the bail reform legislation recently passed there will be a ballot question allowing the State Constitution to be amended. Below is the language being changed/added in this constitutional amendment question. The part in brackets is in the NJ Constitution now, and will be replaced by the text after that. Why this is relevant to gun owners is that the details of which defendants can be held without bail is yet to be determined. We're basically giving the legislature carte blanche to deny certain people the right to bail. Anyone doubt that the wording "protect the safety of any other person or the community" will apply to anyone charged under our ridiculous gun laws? Hell, some judge might even feel that gun owners, no matter the charge, are especially dangerous and therefore ineligible for release on bail. Here's a pretty good summary of the questions- http://www.lwvnj.org/images/voting/2014_BallotQs.pdf http://www.njleg.state.nj.us/2014/Bills/SCR/128_I1.HTM PROPOSED AMENDMENT Amend Article I, paragraph 11 to read as follows: 11. No person shall, after acquittal, be tried for the same offense. All persons shall, before conviction, be [bailable by sufficient sureties, except for capital offenses when the proof is evident or presumption great] eligible for pretrial release. Pretrial release may be denied to a person if the court finds that no amount of monetary bail, non-monetary conditions of pretrial release, or combination of monetary bail and non-monetary conditions would reasonably assure the person’s appearance in court when required, or protect the safety of any other person or the community, or prevent the person from obstructing or attempting to obstruct the criminal justice process. It shall be lawful for the Legislature to establish by law procedures, terms, and conditions applicable to pretrial release and the denial thereof authorized under this provision. (cf: Art. I, par. 11)
  5. A. Your slide may not have locked back on the last round. Unless you knew for certain how many you had in the magazine and were counting rounds, you're never sure. And you may not always be shooting your own gun or one that you've trained with. B. It's easier to train one set of actions when reloading (drop mag, seat fresh one, rack the slide).
  6. I'm the first gun owner among my core group of friends. All but two were strongly against, but I still talked openly about it, met all the media driven arguments against guns, etc. There are now 4 more and two who are thinking about it. All of them have now been to the range with me or someone else.
  7. Cool, I didn't get a good look at the gun last night

  9. Alternatively, you could take the kung fu movie approach: Find the roughest material you can and rub it across your neck for several hours a day everyday, making your neck skin impervious to abrasion.
  10. And just like that, all your problem are solve.

  13. As well as all manner of birds and small game. Also clays. And home defense. About the only thing I wouldn't use a 20 gauge for is big game with buckshot. Though in a rifled barrel shotgun with 3" sabots, the 20 is still plenty gun. See e.g. http://www.backwoodshome.com/articles2/ayoob120.html http://www.chuckhawks.com/drive_20_gauge.htm http://www.outdoorlife.com/blogs/gun-shots/2013/08/twenty-plenty http://www.thewellarmedwoman.com/shotgun-basics And in case H.E. drops by

  15. I've only had good experiences at BH. Yeah, you don't get VIP treatment at the counter, but that not what I'm there for. I wanna just pay my $11 or whatever it is and shoot. Though I will share this: a friend of mine went there with his first handgun, first time shooting. He said as much when he went in and the RO spent about 15 minutes with him waking him through safe operation, getting a proper sight picture, stance, trigger control etc. In other words one on one NRA first steps (minus field strip and cleaning). That's above and beyond in my book. I've never gotten any attitude from the RO and have even been told it's OK to go over my time as long as no one is waiting, more than once. I've also never had an issue with head shots. This is from my last time there:
