  1. Scrap you bring up a good point, I bought my mini thirty a couple years ago (used) for $500, that price is a joke now because they have more than doubled that. It is a damn good rifle, but for $1000-1300 or more you can get just about any high end rifle in 7.62 x 39. With that said, as far as NJ crazy legal is concerned, it doesn't get much safer than a mini thirty, since everything else seems like a loophole or grey area here.

  2. Ahhh, that makes sense... mine was a 186-xxxx serial number, 90's I think, ate the steel cased stuff no problem. Good to know, thanks for clearing that up.

  3. I had an older version mini thirty, I found it a very reliable and 'fun' rifle myself, to this day I regret selling it. The rifle itself is small, but very accurate. The factory mags are a little expensive and difficult to find, but that can be said about most anything nowadays. Aftermarket mags suck for it, so stick with factory. Some people will tell you not to shoot steel cased ammo through it, but I had no problems using the cheap Russian stuff. 7.62 round is more effective too in defense situations and more exciting to shoot. I also recommend getting a stabilizer bar (harbar or accustrut) not only does it make the rifle more accurate, it makes it look badass m14 or m1a style. Just my humble opinion. Anyway, hope you find what you're looking for.

  4. Not sure on an exact number, I bought this rifle off a guy I worked with in Virginia, he was the original owner. I don't think he shot it that much, so I can't say what he put through it. For me, about 400 rounds, no hiccups. Some Rugers only like to eat brass, but I never had a problem with steel cased ammo in this rifle.

  5. KEEPIN IT...

Ruger mini-30 with a 186-xxxxx serial # in great shape. I installed an Accu-Strut stabilizer bar (I can't testify to whether it made the rifle more accurate or not, I just know it is extremely accurate at about 50 yards, which is what I sighted in the iron sights for). $500 firm takes the rifle, factory 5rd magazine, a little over a hundred rounds of TulAmmo, original instruction manual, and cheapie case. FTF only, must have FID and fill out NJ COE. I might consider a trade for a Mossberg 500 or Remington 870 + cash, depending on what it is (I want a shotgun for HD only, not hunting, so black/tactical is preferred).

  6. Hello CAM, yeah I know it is ridiculous that I moved from VA, which is a complete 180 from NJ when it comes to gun laws, but work brought me here. I'm in field service, so I work all over the place in South Jersey. As far as firearms, I have a Ruger P90, Taurus 85 UL, Ruger Mini30, and Stag Model8 AR15. I am trying to get more into handguns, will probably get rid of the rifles I have left, maybe get a Mossy 500 for HD.

  7. I really hate to sell this, but I do not shoot it enough to keep. This is Stag's Model 8, which is a GP (Gas Piston) AR-15 chambered for 5.56. Bought this almost a year ago, under 300 rounds through it. OD green magpul furniture (grip, stock, handguard, afg2 foregrip, trigger guard, MBus rear sight). NcStar red/green illuminated scope, Condor dual bungee 1 or 2 pt sling, 3 Stag factory 10 rd mags with OD green magpul plates, about 100 rd Brown Bear ammo. Stag AR manual and all factory parts are included, which are black. I am also including the case, which is a Plano o-ring sealed pressure adjustable case, very sturdy with locks built in. $1200 firm for whole package, might consider breaking up certain parts (not separating upper & lower), FTF transaction only, you must have FID, government issued photo ID, and fill out COE. Sorry, NO TRADES. I am located in EHT, if you want any more pics/specifics, just let me know.

  8. Have you gotten your FID and any permits yet? I'm moving to EHT in a few months and have been wondering about EHT PD's usual timeframe. Hopefully it won't be too long for an address change.

Yes I got my FID last year, took just over 3 months, I guess that's about average talking to a couple others near me. I am about to go back and get a P2P handgun, i'm a little pissed I have to pay 60+ bucks again though...
