  1. HE, what’s the word on EAG Tactical nowadays? I see they are running classes in St. Augustine. Just wondering how it would compare with Pat’s old courses. Thanks.
  2. I would expect a revenge attack fairly soon on a church on Sunday morning by a lone wolf who saw what happened in NZ and wants retribution with his own manifesto. Kinda what happened in Dallas with the BLM guy and his SKS targeting police.
  3. Living in Florida, I’ll be the first to admit there are trade offs in terms of food, culture, weather, people, and other “only in NJ/NY”comforts. But, man, you cannot put a price on the freedom and the negative effects of oppression on mental health. To defend otherwise is like Stockholm syndrome.
  4. After my fair share of panic buying during the Obama years and pre-election, buying a gun is like taking another bite out of the same burger. Yeah, it's a great time to be a gun buyer with all the new products and affordability going on. Sig Sauer is like the Ford Motor of gun manufacturers with 15 different auto models and 20 different trim levels of the F-150. Plus, technology is such that it seems anyone can open a machine shop and start producing cool AR or CZ Evo type guns or custom handguns (ZEV, LAV, Langdon, Proctor, etc). That was my take away from past SHOT Shows. So, the novelty has kinda worn off for me. Yeah, the Sig 23423 and the new Glock X, Y, Z are great, but I'll stick with my Sig MK25 and BCM AR. I would buy another game changer gun if another were to come out like an RPR or VP9 (bang-for-the-buck into Precision or H&K smooth striker). Now, if Colt were to start producing the snake guns again, then.....
  5. NFA Act of 1934 set the tax stamp at $200 because that was the going rate of a Tommy Gun back then and legislators thought of it severe enough to freeze machine gun purchases. Still the law of the land. Not sure what legal challenge is available.
  6. Interesting article but a lot of fantasy. If the gubment wants to go after guns they won’t use door kickers. They’ll bring semi’s under NFA and then tax ammo or even bullets. They regulate and tax it to death. Make an example of anyone unlucky enough to be caught like NJ does. NFA and NY/NJ laws provide the blueprint for de facto confiscation.
  7. What color is the boat house at Hereford?
  8. I do remember the friendly fire incident in Long Island a few years back: https://www.nydailynews.com/news/crime/mta-shot-fellow-geoffrey-breitkopf-friendly-fire-incident-inconsolable-article-1.123891 IIRC, the mangy neighbor (ex-cop) yelled "Gun! Gun!" when he saw plainclothes officer with an AR-15 slung on his side. Another MTA officer promptly drew his weapon and shot him dead in the side. I guess it boils down to training and discipline (or lack thereof).
  9. Dang. That sign was my marker when traffic would slow to a crawl on I-80.
  10. +1 on Fisher. Good dealings. Recommended from my old mechanic.
  11. Not Rockwell Tactical Group... Joe @ S&T is by far the best value out there. Would love to take a class with DeFoor or Langdon.
  12. If you’re a member of North Jersey Target Clay Club, you can order cases of shot shells and/or reloading supplies from their clay supplier from PA. Prices were pretty reasonable since there are Fudds there who shoot through cases each week. Have to pick up early on a Saturday or Sunday though when the delivery truck arrives at the club.
  13. That's a very nice impact wrench. Milwaukee tools get a lot of love over at GarageJournal.com and the company has done alot of cool things (to the point of gimmicky like Sig Sauer). With current advancements in battery tech, buying cordless tools today is like buying a TV. There's always going to be something new like 1080p, 4K, UHD, OLED, 20V, 24V, brushless motors, etc. Current gen Milwaukee is based on 18V Fuel platform but I'm assuming they will move to 20V at some point.
  14. Not fake wine. Pairs well with Russian dressing...
  15. I would budget in everything from the rifle, glass, bipod, match grade ammo, spotting scope, rear bag, mat, training, LD range membership/travel, etc. Glass is probably as important as the rifle. A good article here: https://gundigest.com/gear-ammo/optics/buying-the-perfect-precision-scope As for 6.5 vs .308, .308 gets pushed around by the wind after so many hundred yards (less so than 6.5). If you want to "learn" and be challenged, then .308 may be a better round to start out with (or be frustrated with). I think an RPR with decent Vortex or comparable scope is a great place to start for a beginner.
  16. The day confiscation begins is the day the shooting starts....
  17. Yup, that's Gronk. You have to be pretty brawny to do that like Jesse "The Body" Ventura in Predator. Many moons ago at Knob Creek MG shoot, they had three miniguns mounted to a tripod which flipped over backwards and killed the young girl firing them (from her skull being crushed by one of the miniguns). You can have one with a Class III or 7 FFL going through LEO demo letters, post sample, etc. process. Figure 2,000-6,000 rounds per minute of 7.62x51 (.308) at $0.50 a round. You can do the math. For something more accessible, the Dillon Aero calendar is usually pretty sweet and features the minigun prominently for your garage/workshop.
  18. I have to admit, I would love to get my hands on a PSA Space Force lower. Good post about the history of PSA lowers here. https://www.ar15.com/forums/Industry/PSA-Lowers-The-Definitive-Thread-on-their-Differences-/301-243849/
  19. Does this mean I can have a 10.5" AR rifle, but remove the firing pin from the bolt and my home and I'm good to go under NJ firearms laws since it's inoperable? What if I just remove the magazine floor plates from the 15-rd magazines and from my home. Am I good to go under the letter of the law?
