  1. Can a noob like me do it, or should it be brought to a smith to be done? Can anyone recommend good smiths in the Clinton / Hackettstown, or even Phillipsburg / Easton PA areas? Thanks!
  2. Why did I think bayonets were illegal here? Is that just on semi-autos?
  3. Thank you, gentlemen. I am already buying Federal bulk for my AR, so I will start adding .22's to those buys as well. Also thanks Supertele and Dajonga for the heads-up on CCI and Aguila ammo. Will definitely be buying a few boxes of each to try 'em out.
  4. Very nice. I hope to own a Kimber Covert II some day. Just out of curiosity, what made you go for the 92 Inox over the regular finish?
  5. Just picked up a used Marlin XT-22R, and was wondering which brand/type of ammo feeds the best through it? I would like to run both target and small game rounds through it, and plan to use this rifle for both purposes. Anyone have one? Appreciate any advice. Thanks!
  6. What brand of ammo do you use? Is this gun picky about what you run through it?
  7. As long as it has a front sling swivel stud, Harris should have something that'll fit. http://www.harrisbipods.com/
  8. @mcbethr: Nice signature line. I have that scene from the Matrix as my FB page background image, and for the same reason. We are all batteries now.
  9. I walked into Heritage expecting to walk out with a Stag, but after picking up the VEX, it felt right and I bought it. There isn't one thing about it that I felt needed to be changed or removed right away, and I can add the scope I want without first paying for optics that I didn't. Good luck in your search!
  10. Windham got a lot of ex-Bushmaster employees, too. Check them out. I just picked up a Windham VEX-SS .223 today down at Heritage Guild in Branchburg.
  11. Thanks to everyone for all the responses so far. Some great info already. @DamJan: Definitely going to make a trip to Heritage Guild. I see they offer the NRA training courses as well, so that's two reasons for me to go check them out. @when_shtf: I'm on my 3rd A4 in a row -- '98, '07 and now a '12. Love 'em. @NJSigFan: I will do that. Some of the guys I work with shoot in Easton as well, so we will have to make a trip. Another buddy is a member at EFGA. http://www.efga.net/ @mcbethr: Thanks for the link -- didn't even know that existed. That is a must-get. I was looking at the EFK recoil spring for the 92FS, know anything about it? http://www.efkfiredragon.com/beretta-taurus-92s-pt92-pt99-9mm.html

  13. Greetings everyone. I'm a new member living in Lebanon Township. Lifelong NJ resident, have lived in every area code at least once (with a 7 year detour in Boston along the way). Just finished the FID process a month ago, and recently purchased a Beretta 92FS (from Tony at Hackettstown G&A). That was a fairly easy choice. I would like to get going with an AR15, but with all the choices out there, it will take some time to do the homework and find one that's great out of the box but also easy to upgrade when I get better with it. I am hoping to learn a lot from these forums, and will give back any info I find along the way. Thanks! -Lou
