Go to a couple of gun ranges that rent guns and ask them which ones are the most reliable.

A part of the dissent by Thomas and joined by Gorsuch: The petition for a writ of certiorari is denied. JUSTICE THOMAS, with whom JUSTICE GORSUCH joins, dissenting from the denial of certiorari. The Second Amendment to the Constitution guarantees that “the right of the people to keep and bear Arm's shall not be infringed.” At issue in this case is whether that guarantee protects the right to carry firearms in public for self-defense. Neither party disputes that the issue is one of national importance or that the courts of appeals have already weighed in extensively. I would therefore grant the petition for a writ of certiorari. Even if other Members of the Court do not agree that the Second Amendment likely protects a right to public carry, the time has come for the Court to answer this important question definitively. Twenty-six States have asked us to resolve the question presented, see Brief for Alabama et al. as Amici Curiae, and the lower courts have fully vetted the issue. At least four other Courts of Appeals and three state courts of last resort have decided cases regarding the ability of States to regulate the public carry of firearms. Those decisions (plus the one below) have produced thorough opinions on both sides of the issue. Hence, I do not see much value in waiting for additional courts to weigh in, especially when constitutional rights are at stake The Court has not heard argument in a Second Amendment case in over seven years—since March 2, 2010, in McDonald v. Chicago, 561 U. S. 742. Since that time, we have heard argument in, for example, roughly 35 cases where the question presented turned on the meaning of the First Amendment and 25 cases that turned on the meaning of the Fourth Amendment. This discrepancy is inexcusable, especially given how much less developed our jurisprudence is with respect to the Second Amendment as compared to the First and Fourth Amendments. The Constitution does not rank certain rights above others, and I do not think this Court should impose such a hierarchy by selectively enforcing its preferred rights. The Court’s decision to deny certiorari in this case reflects a distressing trend: the treatment of the Second Amendment as a disfavored right For those of us who work in marbled halls, guarded constantly by a vigilant and dedicated police force, the guarantees of the Second Amendment might seem antiquated and superfluous. But the Framers made a clear choice: They reserved to all Americans the right to bear arms for self-defense. I do not think we should stand by idly while a State denies its citizens that right, particularly when their very lives may depend on it. I respectfully dissent.

FBI Report on the Baseball Practice Shooting in VA

Unbelievable (but not really surprised). So this is what the average Joe reads and believes to be the facts. -
New Pew Research on Gun Ownership Published
NJGF replied to 45Doll's topic in Firearm Hobby / Sport Discussion
Garbage in-garbage out. I also take it with a grain of salt. I for one would never respond to a pollster asking if I owned a gun but that's just me living in NJ. -

I think she would need a P2P so you can transfer it to her. You would then need one to transfer it back to you. A PITA for sure. And all of the paperwork would have to be sent to the NJSP and local PD. I guess this is a good reason to always have active P2P's around. -
I know this sounds strange but assets don't have a price that is reasonable. They have a price based upon supply and demand. And nothing ever goes in a straight line. If you invest in anything you should be prepared for the ups and down of that particular market. As others have said timing is everything. But if you invest in the US stock market over the long term it has always gone up (with lots of swings along the way). Stocks represent companies and companies try to make money so stocks go up over the long term. The same cannot be said for other assets like metals, etc.

Outdoor range that allows kids younger than 10?
NJGF replied to Cecil Harvey's topic in Ranges & Gun Shops
You can visit OBRPC during one of their weekend matches. The matches are open to the public. The gate is open and it will allow you to walk around and talk to people who are very willing to give you all the information you need. There are often other kids shooting their so you can talk to them also (but aren't we all just kids anyway). -
Pistol Permits, Extensions and Exemptions
NJGF replied to JHZR2's topic in Current New Jersey Gun Laws Discussion
I always get extra permits just in case: like the dog ate one, etc. There is really no limit to the number of permits you can request except adding additional paperwork to your local PD (and $2 each) so you might not want to do it frivolously. -
SCOTUS has no power to enforce its rulings. But the President can as when President Eisenhower nationalized the entire Arkansas National Guard in September 1957: Arkansas National Guard and the integration of Central High School https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arkansas_National_Guard_and_the_integration_of_Central_High_School

NJGF replied to Maximus's topic in Current New Jersey Gun Laws Discussion
GFSZA is one of those feel good laws. It should be removed but who would vote to not protect the kids. btw: The original law was introduced by Biden and signed by HW. -
Can NYC LEO bring his weapon to NJ range
NJGF replied to Maximus's topic in Current New Jersey Gun Laws Discussion
When in a school zone LEOSA doesn't give a LEO any exemptions from the GFSZA so the firearm has to be unloaded and locked.
