  1. So just to make sure, is the expiration date on the permit the last day that it is good for?
  2. What happens if my P2P expires (it was already extended for 90 days) after the NICS check is started but before the state police approves it (which I have heard is now taking over 2 weeks)? Would I have to start over again and apply for new permits? Will the FFL hold the pistol for a few months until I get the new permits (it was already paid for)? And I always thought the I in NICS stood for Instant! My bad.
  3. So I contacted Glock today. They want me to send back just the 10 round magazines. I will let you all know what they find.
  4. So I tried again at the range today. The 10 round magazines still failed to go to battery on the next to last round (I had said the eighth round but it was actually the ninth round). I then tried the 13 round magazines and they worked perfectly in the Glock 30. I tried a number of times with only 3 or 4 cartridges in the magazines and the 13 rounds magazines always worked. So I guess the problem is the entire batch of 3-10 round magazines that came with the Glock 30. I will contact Glock and see what they say.
  5. Both magazines came with the pistol. I didn't have them with me today but next time I will try the 13 round magazines from the Glock 21 and see if I have the problem with them in the Glock 30 (they work fine in the Glock 21). Thanks.
  6. I took my brand new Glock 30 Gen 4 to the range today. I first cleaned and lubed the gun. I shot 100 rounds and probably had 5 failures to go into battery. I shot 50 rounds with the same Federal American Eagle 230gr FMJ ammunition that I normally use in my Glock 21 Gen 4 and another 50 rounds of Federal Premium JHP (first time using this). I have never had this problem in the Glock 21. One thing I noticed was that each time it happened it was the 8th round being shot. The slide was about 1/4 to 1/2" from fully closing. I dropped the magazine, racked the slide, and the unspent cartridge dropped out. I then inserted the cartridge in the magazine and was able to shoot the remaining two cartridges. Any ideas what could be causing this? I tried two different magazines and they both had the problem.
  7. Ok sorry the person might have heard the police records department person incorrectly. He thought they said 6 but their form says ONLY 3 and they do have to be notorized. Not sure if he should make a big deal of this though. This is only for a FPID/P2P not a CCW.
  8. I know the application for a FPID/P2P has space for 2 references. Can a local police department require 6 on their own custom forms?
  9. So I read this post about the Fobus being tight but I figured how tight could it be. I bought one for my Glock 21. The gun went in and I couldn't draw it out. I had to hold the bottom with my left hand and I could finally draw it out. Not good. I went to Fobus's web site and found a FAQ "The holster won't release my gun, its way too tight." at http://www.fobushols...html#2739_66427 They recommend lubricating the holster with gun oil or silicone. So I sprayed a bit of silicone on a paper towel and lightly wiped the inside of the holster. They say to concentrate around the trigger guard area but I found it helped most opposite the trigger guard area near the slide. I ended up lightly wiping down the entire inside of the holster. The holster now works perfectly. It still completely retains the gun and as long as you quickly draw the gun in the direction of the cant it comes out easily. No issues at all. So please no more boiling the holster, putting in an oven, or blowing it with a hair dryer! btw: I have the paddle holster.
  10. I am a new shooter. I took the NRA First Pistol course and I have been to the range 4 times. What type of accuracy should I expect (not from the gun but from me)? I have been shooting a semi-automatic pistol at 25 yards using a 10" target. I have shot a few hundred rounds. I find the best I can do is get about 7-8 out of 10 rounds on the target. I wear glasses and when focusing on the front site the target is not very clear. What type of accuracy does an experienced shooter get? Thanks.
