  1. Many businesses do not own the property their business is on. They lease it from a landlord. I would make sure you that you have your name listed as owner on the articles of incorporation or some legal document. That being said, Qel Hoth is right. Get the advice of an attorney. Unlawful Possession of a Handgun carries a mandatory period of incarceration of 3 years pursuant to the AG's Graves Act Guidelines. This holds true even for first time offenders. To get any less the county prosecutor must obtain a Graves Act Waiver on your behalf which, depending on the county, they may be less willing to do given the circumstances. The risk is too great not to seek proper legal counsel.
  2. It is definitely a slippery slope. Gun control does not work so after each new restriction there is always going to be some incident that gives the anti-gun lobby an excuse to say "we just didn't do enough, if we had more restrictions this could have been prevented." The proposed restrictions this time around will be geared towards compromise. They will ask for a lot hoping to make some headway. That is why everyone must urge their representatives and governors to stand firm on this issue.
  3. +1 on the CM9. It is very light an compact and a great shooter. Mine has been 100% reliable. You need to get a little familiar with the longer smooth trigger pull of the Kahr but that will happen when you break it in. Can't beat the price either. Small enough to pocket carry in most circumstances unlike the M&P Shield. The Sig P938 is a little tough to find and is more pricey but also nice. It is a 1911 style micro-9 meant to be carried cocked and locked. If you are familiar with carrying a 1911 and sweeping off the safety that may be the choice for you. If you carry a glock or other striker fired pistol without a safety the CM9 is very similar.
