  1. I am not sure if this is the proper place for this question so if it is not I am sorry but, here is my question : can anyone tell me where I can shop for a NJ compliant CZ-75 ? What I am shopping for is a full-size ,full-metal frame variant and I would like to find someone who will make available 15 round magazines to go along with the pistol. I don't want to settle for the 10 round magazines that we in NJ often need to settle for. Many of the CZ-75's come with 16 or 19 round magazines and while I accept that I cannot have one and that I will have to pay a bit more to get a modified magazine that will past muster in NJ but, I want the capacity to be what we are permitted ,15 rounds. If you can help by suggesting a shop or two or dealer or anyone who can legally fill this type of order please let me know . Thanks
  2. I am not sure if this is the right thread so if I am wrong please forgive the intrusion . Here is the question: Can anyone suggest a shop or two where I can purchase a NJ compliant CZ-75 . I want a full size ,metal variant with a 15 round magazine . I prefer to find a shop in norther New Jersey but ,if the shop has enough to offer i would drive a couple of hours to get to them.If you can suggest a dealer or two please do so ,
  3. I have been shooting .22 rifles and pistols for years but, with the world having become so unsafe I want to get a more powerful home defense weapon for myself and possibly my wife to become comfortable with. It seems like the logical choice is an AR-15 and I would like to keep the price at or below $1000 so I can add the needed optics ( scope,red-dot or perhaps a top mounter optic and a side mounted iron site as well ) without exceeding $1500 but,if someone cares to suggest a different platform I am certainly interested in hearing what they have to say. The more information and the more detailed the better. for example if you suggest a specific brand AR and a specific model to be purchased at a specific shop that would be perfect but, a general guideline such as, "you DON'T need an expensive AR, any brand will do so look at Del-ton" or you DO need a better brand so look at Colt or Daniel Defense " or "don't limit yourself to AR's look at AK-47's or 74's instead" would also be appreciated. I know I want more than a 9mm pistol for home-defense and want something that ultimately my 5 foot 100 pound wife can also handle aside from that the subject is so broad I need good advice to even start my search so if you are willing to pass on some of your experience I would be grateful. Thanks ,Rik

    I quit

I Just want to say , "I quit". I wrote to the governor ,several senators and a number of congressmen. I donated to the NRA and used every argument I learned in 4 decades of being an attorney to promote the 2nd amendment but,Feinstein and her followers were nothing compared to the greedy Judases who lived within the shooting community. They and all who stood and did nothing , or worse , gave in and helped them by paying the inflated price for ammo and thus virtually destroyed the 2nd amendment and those of us who believed in it. I started shooting 53 years ago but,I am now prepared, just when I thought it would become the prime past time for my wife and myself,to say ,"I quit" and sell my firearms to the police the next time they run a "cash for firearms" program because the abject greed that exits in the community of gun owners ,the fact that some of "you" (no longer "us") will destroy the practice of recreational shooting just to make a few extra dollars by buying all the available ammo and selling at 3xs its value and the fact that so many of you will pay the inflated price and that gun shop owners will ask 3xs the price and risk driving so many out of the community because it has become too costly to shoot makes me ill and ashamed to be part of you . So I say "goodbye" and that I will no longer use what I haved learned to defend the 2nd amendment not because I don't believe in it but, rather because too many who have stood behind it and enjoyed its benefits are less than real men and women because real men and women don't rape each other for a few coins and that is what is going on right now in the gun world and even though the majority is not doing it the majority has stood by and let it happen.Few ,if any ,have called out the greedy few and kicked them out by refusing to buy what they sell or standing behind them while they shoot and "booing" their presence or extending a chosen finger when they turned to look. In short, you let it happen. The greedy within have destroyed the 2nd amendment and destroyed what I held dear and looked forward to embracing and practicing its benefits..So again, "good bye" and again I will no longer speak for you and I am sure that the others true believing men and women will soon join me and all that will be left and the traitors and the cowards.PS if you ever collectively decide to "man up" please let me know. I'll be at the golf course instead of the shooting range.
  5. Glad to hear that there is a good -friendly place. I am looking for a gun shop to make a purchase in and possibly establish a relationship with but , so far it has not happened. For example ,I called a place (let's called it a"Bergen" shop) a second time about the same firearm I was looking for. It was an honest mistake but ,before the owner hung up on me he called me an asshole . I know its a seller market right now but,do you really insult a potential customer for trying to find the gun he wants. The real test of a good shop is how it treats you when it does not need your business. Anyway,I'll never again call or go to that shop. Anyway, thanks for pointing out a good shop.I'll be there soon.
  6. I'm not clear on what is being said : pk90 said "do nothing else" since the glock was now plode's but, 302w said ,"get a FID"and "buy ... ammo".Does the fact that the pistol was left to plode mean he can take it to the range and purchase ammo without doing more or must he get a purchaser's card or anything else before he can either purchase ammo or take it to shoot at a range. Also ,if he need not get a FID in order to take it to a range or buy ammo must he present proof that he is now the owner, that is demonstrate that the pistol was left to him as indicated before ammo will be sold to him for it ? Basically, does being left the firearm legally substitute for a purchase by way of a FPID or does it mearly mean the gun is his but,the ancillary aspects :the right to purchase ammo and range use ,do not attach ?
  7. Malsua, first ,thanks for your post and the information within. Please let me make sure I understand what you have said. Upon receiving a pistol via inheritance one can exercise all of the applicable exceptions to the otherwise mandated FPID and no registration of the firearm is required before such uses are undertaken (as taking the gun to fire at a range )? Pardon my being over precautious but, what little I know about NJ firearm laws has lead me to believe that NJ is unreasonable and the inheritance laws do seem reasonable, all things considered.
  8. I have a question as to johnp's post : Is our law such that if one inherits a handgun and the handgun has no disqualifying features can the party who inherited it use it in all lawful manners such as transport and discharge without a FPID merely because it was obtained through operation of law or would the new owner need a FPID or another document to have more than mere possession ?
  9. It's legal in all ways ,no high capacity mag ,short barrel etc..Nothing prohibited about the firearm itself. The only issue is as to any "permit/licensing" mandate by the government .If purchased today with a FPID there would be no issue at all. So if I understand this in order to keep it in a car or take to a location other than a range or practice field I need a "purchase" even though it was purchased over 50 years ago ? While we are on the subject of "old" firearms and speaking totally hypothetically : if this were a handgun ,which had no prohibited features like high capacity magazine or a suppressor etc. would the situation be any different ? That is to say if one bought a handgun in the 1950's would one need a FPID or any other permit or authorization from the government even to take the pistol straight to and from the range and so forth ?
  10. I did not mean to yell.I just am old and have poor eyesight and the caps let me see that what i typed is what i intended (also i thought others might need the same assistance as i do to read).sorry if i offended anyone.i obviously underestimated the ocular health and probably the age of the forum readers.
  11. I HAVE READ HOW LONG IT TAKES FOR A FIREARM PURCHASER IDENTIFICATION CARD TO BE ISSUED BY ONE'S LOCAL POLICE AND DON'T WANT TO WAIT THAT LONG BUT,DON'T WANT TO OFFEND ANY STATE LAW SO LET ME ASK THE INFORMED THIS QUESTION : I HAVE AN OLD .22 RIFLE WHICH WAS GIVEN TO ME ABOUT 1959-1960. I DID NOT WANT TO TAKE IT OUT TO USE IN ANY WAY SINCE I WAS WORRIED THAT I MIGHT BE STOPPED AND EVEN THOUGH I THOUGHT THAT THE 2C:39-6(F)EXEMPTION WOULD APPLY IF I TOOK IT TO THE RANGE OR TO PRACTICE WITH I WAS CONCERNED WITH BEING STOPPED AND INCARCERATED FOR FAILURE TO CARRY A FID.SINCE tHE RIFLE WAS OBTAINED PRIOR TO THE GUN CONTROL ACT CAN I TAKE IT OUT LEGALLY OR DOES OUR LAW STILL MANDATE A FPID FOR THAT GUN BEfORE I CAN TREAT IT AS LEGALLY OBTAINED ?PS ASSUMING IT DOES REQUIRE A FPID LET ME ASK IF THE POLICE GENERALLY UNDERSTAND AND HONOR THE "RANGE"EXCEPTION IN 2C;39-6(F) ?
  12. I have a question ,if I am the executor of my parent's estate and there are no other surviving members of the family I assume that any guns in the estate are mine to do with as I wish. If I wish to keep and use them and assuming that they are handguns for which there are no proscriptions by character can I take them out of the house as to a range or to hunt or plink with or must I still obtain a COE,FPID or other form of permit ?
  13. If I understand this all correctly - I do NOT need a FID or FPID or COE to take a rifle (not an assault or otherwise banned weapon) to a range to shoot. ? However I do need an ID or permit of some sort in order to take a pistol out of the house to shoot at a range or other place ? If this is not correct please explain to me how and why I am wrong. Thanks
  14. The question is whether or not NJ grandfathers weapons. That is to say if a weapon which is now legal to have in this state with a FID but,was purchased before the gun control act was passed must a FID be obtained in order to exercise the rights of possession and use of the weapon or is the weapon exempt because obtained before such rules were put into place ?
