  1. My understanding was always that they were not illegal to possess, only to carry. As a "collector" I can own anything, just not carry it.
  2. BTW - that is on sale for 50% off on Amazon right now: https://www.amazon.com/Cold-Steel-Tactical-Folding-Pocket/dp/B07MZW57XN?th=1 Bigger than I like for EDC, but a nice knife for the sale price.
  3. One of the guys from my Marlin FB group just posted this. I'm usually pretty traditional when it comes to firearms, especially lever guns, but there is something about this that I really like. Opinions?
  4. Can you post some pictures? Also barrel length, gauge, etc.?
  5. I, for one, would never hunt in the Northeast with a .223 or 556 AR. It's too much for squirrels and rabbits, and not enough for deer. Now, when I'm out in the woods and it's pissing down rain do I wish I had a synthetic stocked bolt action? Yes. Do I wish I had an AR? Nope. I'm also kind of a traditionalist when it comes to hunting (I also hunt with a flint lock), so that probably sways my thinking about this a lot. Yeah, I know, in the fall I turn into a Fudd. I can feel the change coming ...
  6. Maybe it's just me, but I have not found any of the used guns at Cabela's (at least in Hamburg) to be "cheap".

    Lever guns

Well, you actually can't hunt deer with a rifle in NJ; shotgun only. That's one (of the many) reasons I hunt in PA. With a Marlin .30-30 lever action.
  8. And anyone who walks into a sub shop and orders a Taylor Ham Hero and a pop while wearing tennis shoes - well, there are no words.
  9. While this may have relevance on a national level, we are talking Jersey here, so: It's soda Pop is the old man Coke should be capitalized
  10. And since it's still summer... Are they Jimmies or Sprinkles?
  11. It's a Sub. A Grinder is a Sub with Cole Slaw replacing the lettuce, tomato, onions, etc. A Cheese Steak Sub is a Cheese Steak with Lettuce, tomato, onion, etc. A Hoagie is what you get from WaWa during Hoagiefest. Nobody calls them Heros.
  12. If for some reason joltitor is unable to pick it up I'll take it!
  13. No love for the Kimber Micro 9? That's what I'm considering for CCW (and what I already have).
  14. On Thursday, Murphy called the Supreme Court decision tragic. “Based on a deeply flawed constitutional methodology, a right-wing majority on the United States Supreme Court has just said that states can no longer decide for ourselves how best to limit the proliferation of firearms in the public sphere,” he said. “Let there be no mistake – this dangerous decision will make America a less safe country.” And just like that, the Bill of Rights in no longer above his pay grade...
  15. You know these are incredibly easy to make. After spending a lot of time in Brazil, Columbia, and Argentina, I make these at home all summer! And Buenos Aires is beautiful - one of my favorite cities!
  16. You don't actually own that, the association does. By being a member of the association, you have the right to access it. And if it's like our association here (Hunterdon County), the association pays no taxes on that land. Your association fees go towards maintenance and insurance.
  17. When we used to participate in live fire cannon competitions (yes, they used to have them at Monmouth Battlefield), the projectile of choice was an Alpo can filled with cement. Round balls skip too much, so to control missed shots we need to use something that tumbles like a football, instead of skipping. A round cannon ball can skip pretty far!). So, in at least a partial answer, a 3 pound cannon (cannon calibers are stated in projectile weight) is Alpo can caliber. I also have a 1 pounder swivel gun; that's golf ball caliber.
  18. Buy a Kimber Pepper Blaster, and carry it. You can get one from Amazon in 2 days.
  19. Same here. I really like the binos and will keep them anyway, but no response from anyone.
  20. I had a 1972 MGB. A little known feature in older British sports cars is the checkbook scanner built into the driver's seat. If you have $400 in your checking account, it will cost $390 to fix it, and leave you $10 for beer to cry into.
  21. Sure they do - click on Greece, and click more info. Basically COVID.
