  1. Looking for my next handgun purchase and am intrigued by the Kimber Micro 9. Anybody have one? Would you buy it again?

    SCCY CPX-3

So, I've got a permit I need to use, and I was reading a review in last month's Guns & Ammo about the SCCY CPX-3 in .380. The review was pretty positive, and at $230 MSRP I am intrigued. Anyone have any experience with this gun? I see that some of you have had feeding issues with other SCCY handguns, although this seemed to feed anything that the reviewers threw at it. G&A's conclusion: "The design, performance, and price of the CPX-3 are enough to rate our attention. When combined with the knowledge that this pistol is made entirely in the U.S. and almost exclusively machined from steel billet, the CPX-3 becomes a big deal. I can find no other DOA semiautomatic pistol with a better cost-to-performance ratio than those offered by SCCY"
  3. I also called today but no answer. I sent them an email asking what the dues were, if you need to be sponsored by an existing member, etc. I'll let you know if they get back to me, or maybe I'll see you there tomorrow night (depending upon the answers I get!).
  4. Eagles of Death Metal vocalist Jesse Hughes, whose band was performing at the Bataclan theater in Paris when 90 people were murdered by terrorists in December, has argued for universal access to guns in an interview with French TV ahead of an emotionally charged gig in Paris on Tuesday night. Asked if his longstanding views on gun-control laws had changed after the terror attacks, he said, “Did your French gun control stop a single fucking person from dying at the Bataclan? And if anyone can answer yes, I’d like to hear it, because I don’t think so. I think the only thing that stopped it was some of the bravest men that I’ve ever seen in my life charging head-first into the face of death with their firearms… I think the only way that my mind has been changed is that maybe that until nobody has guns everybody has to have them… I saw people die that maybe could have lived.” Soldiers and armed police will be standing guard at tonight’s gig, to which survivors of the Bataclan massacre were given free invitations.
  5. I assume I need to do the transfer through a PA FFL. Anyone know one around Easton that does this and doesn't charge an arm and a leg?
  6. At Cabela's in Hamburg this week - not listed on their web site. Limit 1 per customer. Also had standard CCI at $26.99 per box of 330. And they had a lot! Also scored some Herter's 9mm FMJ for 11.99 / 50. You can buy all of that you want

  8. If you have the STL file, you can also upload it to this site for printing: http://www.shapeways.com/ I have used shapeways to print many objects that we scan with X-ray Micro CT and they do a great job. They have an entire range of materials they can print with.
  9. Just got a cancellation email for my (2) 92 mags. Seems like it was only 50% off the crap they wanted to get rid of. Not impressed.
  10. I bought 15 rd mags for my M9 no problem.
  11. Thanks! Bought 2 mags and a nice set of grips.
  12. I got these the first time around too. They are worth exactly what you are paying for them.
  13. You want something to keep in the truck? Henry AR7 survival rifle. Trigger sucks, but they don't get much smaller. And it was in a James Bond movie, so how cool is that? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. I’ve got a Henry that I use now, and while it is my favorite small game rifle, I don’t particularly want to take it out with me in the rain (yeah, I know). I’ve got a “beater” 10/22 that would be great for that.
  15. I hunt in PA, and I know that you are allowed to hunt small game with a .22, as long as it isn't semiauto. That means no Ruger 10/22. However, I just saw that you can buy a magazine for training purposes that only holds one round (http://shopruger.com/10_22-BX-1-1-One-Round-Magazine/productinfo/90344/. )This may be playing with semantics, but at that point is the 10/22 still semiauto, or a single shot .22? And the real question: with this magazine, can I now use it for hunting?
  16. http://www.pyramydair.com/s/m/Legends_M712_Full_Auto_CO2_BB_Pistol_Full_Metal/3487 So how cool is this? A full auto replica of a Broomhandle Mauser, but it’s a BB gun. Metal frame, looks pretty authentic, but I am sure this is illegal here. I don’t have the cash for the real thing, but for 120 bucks this looks like a lot of fun.
  17. Always wanted a Beretta and have one last permit to use up. I am looking at both the M9 and 92 FS (obviously I want something in 9mm), and am having trouble deciding. I know a lot of you have either the M9 or 92, and some have both. This will be a range toy, could possibly be used for HD, and I would like to try my hand at some competitions in the future. Any advice, caveats, etc?
  18. So, being a big believer in "the gun you carry is better than the gun you leave in camp", I think I'm going for light and compact, and that brings me to the Ruger SP101 with 3" barrel in .357. I understand the attraction of the .44 mag, but that's a lot of steel to haul around all day. I might still be convinced to go full-size, but so far this is how I am leaning. Everyone I know who has one (OK, both of the people I know who have them) love them. Swap out the factory grip for a Hogue and I think I'm good to go.
  19. I've looked at both S&W (686) and Ruger GP100 - any pros/cons? Other models/manufacturers I should look at?
  20. Ready to get my first revolver and am looking for advice. I will mainly use it for HD and as a back-up to carry while hunting (yes, you can get a sportsman's permit in PA to carry while hunting and fishing; and those Perry county trout can be pretty aggressive). Actually, there are quite a few bear where I hunt, so I'd like a little something "extra". As such I am thinking .357, probably 4" barrel, preferably in stainless. Any advice? Any one have one for sale? Permits applied for but not in yet, so figure 2 months until I can actually pick it up. This is a tool, not a toy, so used is OK. Thanks!

  22. I've got 2 Kindles (original and a Fire) and an iPad. Really boils down to what you want to do. The Kindle is an excellent e-reader, works seamlessly with Prime, and is "book size", which I prefer for reading. However, the batteries don't last nearly as long as the iPad, and with the iPad I can edit documents and do most of what I do on a Laptop. I use the Kindle when I am home or out and about locally because it's smaller, and I use the iPad (with Kindle app) when travelling for battery life and quick email. I have a Logitech Bluetooth keyboard for the iPad that makes it the perfect all-around travel companion. I can also use the iPad for PowerPoint presentations when at a customer site. One final thing - if you are a PC / Windows guy (like I am), you will most likely find iTunes extremely frustrating, and that's really the only way to move things on and off the iPad.
