  1. A few departments around here have dumped the .40's, and have gone to .45 Glocks.
  2. At least now they can get the "everything is a sheet of ice" part right for tonight.
  3. It's sunny out now. Most of the snow that laid on the grassy areas is gone already. Such a dissappointing event after all of the hype from meteorologists.
  4. Woke up to rain today, rained till about 10:30ish. Then it was sleet for a little while. It's been snowing since about noon. Grass is barely covered, nothing on the streets.
  5. Call and ask to speak to the police chief and explain that the law is the law(including the interview). File a complaint with your county prosecutor(chief law enforcement officer of your county). File a complaint with the state attorney general. The last thing this cop wants is his boss, or his bosses boss breathing down his neck about why he hasn't approved or denied the permit application, or why he wants additional conditions like interviews. Its time the cops in this state start following the law themselves.
  6. Set that cop straight! You must be approved(or denied) in 30 days as per state law. "Processed" isn't anywhere in the statute. Approved or denied is. Tell him to read up on the law. N.J.S. 2C:58-3(f).
  7. Had maybe 3/4 of an inch, but it's gone now(rain). Northern part of Cape May County.
  8. It was more of people around me when I was taking the rifle out of the case/putting it back in, or when I came back from changing targets they would say things like "you had better cut that bayonet lug off, they are illegal in NJ...". Then I would have to sit there and explain to them that grinding the "ears" off of it made it legal. Then they would say "oh, I don't know about that...." Since they had no before picture to even know what ears I was speaking of, it made it even more complicated. I don't like to get confrontational with people, so I would rather take the time to try to explain it(and maybe they would get a better understanding of just how ridiculious NJ's laws are). The only reason I originally took just the ears off was because it required the least amount of work to make it legal. I finally finished grinding it off, filed it smooth and painted it with some flat black paint.
  9. I originally did just the "ears", but I had a lot of people(uneducated people) whine at the range about my rifle still having the bayonet lug on it. I finally just ground the rest of the lug off, as it served no purpose anymore, and it would be easier to not have to explain myself when asked about the lug.
  10. Says it does. I see that they won't ship 15 round magazines here. Thanks NJ.
  11. Not really. Last weekend, while I was at Cabelas I heard at least 4 or 5 guys get told they were sold out of powder.
  12. Dicks has a massive safe in their ad on sale for $699 I think. I think it may be a 64 gun safe.
  13. Maybe it's just me, but I don't see the point in wireless cameras. You still have to run the wire for the power . If you're doing that, it's not that hard to pull the video line along with it.
  14. I cannot stand that the 10/25's don't have the load assist button. I always have to remember to bring a tool of some sort(usually an allen wrench) to the range with me to pull the follower down. Do any of these privately converted(not S&W factory 10 rounders) have the assist button?
  15. I'm pretty sure Bangers has stripped lowers.
  16. Well, just goes to show you... NJ doesn't even trust its own cops to buy guns.
  17. I was going to build a 300BLK upper for a hog hunt I'm going on in January in Florida, but don't really have the money for it right now. Have to put some sort of optic(thinking Aimpoint PRO) on my 5.56, so that will have to suffice.
  18. Yeah, except on their permit application where it says "Occupation: State Trooper"...Yeah, I'm sure their permit gets same day service, meanwhile mine sits and collects dust and turns yellow from age.
  19. I would have waited down in their little hidden room till whoever it was came back, just to fill my curiosity of who was living in my house.
  20. If you go that route, you go tank(valve)--regulator--line--drip leg--valve---appliance.
  21. That picture I posted above is of a Ruger which came from the factory with the pin installed incorrectly. Personally i just dry fire with a spent casing in the chamber.
  22. One of the highest regarded 22 target pistols is a Browning Buckmark, and it will hit on the chamber face if dry fired. My friends Sig Mosquito firing pin also hits. This is directly out of the Sig Mosquito manual(Page 11, top right hand side): Dry firing can cause damage to your pistol and create an unsafe condition. Only Dry fire your pistol with the Dry Fire Plug installed in the chamber and the manual safety off. Some hit, some don't, it has nothing to do with the quality of the gun.
  23. Most rimfire guns the firing pin will strike the edge of the chamber. Do it enough and it'll wear a score into the chamber face and cause FTF issues. Not to mention the wear of the firing pin hitting steel versus a soft brass case. I found a random picture online of this: As you can see, that little piece that got pushed out into the chamber will now cause some serious FTF issues(if a round would even chamber at all).
