  1. Hi guys.... I have my permit form all filled out but I'm a little nervous about submitting it. I moved to NJ when I was 24 yrs old. When I was 21 yrs old I did something stupid with a friend of mine. I let him put some items that belonged to him into my car that he had taken from his Ex-girlfriends apartment and we were both arrested for burglary. It was a bad time for me because my father was dying of cancer and I did not want to get my parents involved, so I let a public defender, which was another stupid move on my part represent me. Anyway, I listened to the public defender and plead guilty to a lesser charge (Conspiracy to commit burglary). Not thinking about my future I just wanted it to be over. Rather than having a Felony hanging over my head it was reduced to a gross misdemeanor. This is the only time in my life that I have been in trouble with the law. Its been 30 years ago and I have never had any problems with any kind of employment because I was honest and upfront. Just a lot of EMBARRASSMENT & SHAME on my part. I paid a lawyer $800 a few years ago to have my record sealed but he told me that he could not find my arrest and refunded my money. I went as far as calling the court clerks in Nevada and they found nothing, they said that since its been 30 years the case could have been purged. So I'm asking your advice to see if I should do what i have always done and put my arrest on the application or should I leave it out?? Thanks in advance......
