*shrugs* sorry if I come off that way. I posted because quite often pro-gun people in my personal circle still support the insane restrictions we have on FA weapons (they are also generally against concealed carry but it is obvious you guys are not). In fact, they think like I thought in the beginning of this thread, that they were just blanket banned and could no longer be sold or traded at all. I was wondering how the members of this forum felt. If they felt like me, or my friends. Anyway, I am Albanian, we love guns. haha

Ah okay, thanks for the links and explanations guys. I understand the current laws better now. I would like to see them repealed. As mentioned, full auto weapons are, if anything, more innaccurate and ammo is wasted quickly. It is more of a rights thing in my mind.

I am not one to blame media. However, I do know that it is not a good thing to show death, destruction, killing, as if it is some easy and light hearted thing to do. This does not mean I think the media should be banned or censored for anyone, but that parents and educators should take care to explain fantasy vs reality to kids etc. These celebraties are just doing what they think will help line their pockets. If they meant this they would refuse to star in movies that have senseless violense and guns.

I am just wondering what you guys think of the sale of fully automatic weapons to civilians and whether it should be legal. Personally, I think it should be legal.

This, it is like when prosecuters give such hefty sentences for "found guilty" but then offer plea deals which are much more reasonable but require pleading guilt. Someone who is innocent but nervous about being found guilty may well plea guilt. He tries to pass this ridiculous bill, it gets edited, and the lesser, but still bad, bill gets put through.

Since when did gun owners start molesting kids? I thought public registries (which I am generally against in all cases) were meant for friggin criminals, not legal gun owners who may protect people's lives with their guns.

FIVE? What in the hell? Absolutely not! I can see them getting it to ten but not five. To hell with all these laws. You can legalise fully automatic rifles for all I care. Firing them semi-automatic style is more efficient anyway. Honestly I am not politically anything, though I guess some would call me a libertarian. I like capitalism and the free market. I like freedom and equal oppurtunity (not equal outcome). I like guns as well.

I can definitely see them limiting the legal limit for magazine capacity to ten. I should get my Glock 19 before that even happens though.

He speaks like he knows less about guns than me, and that is saying something! Looks like a piece of propoganda. Even if he is speaking the truth. The 2A was created so we could fight our government if it became tyrannical. Which means allowing citizens to be just as armed as the average soldier. It isn't our fault our military constantly funds deadlier and deadlier weapons. We have the right to defend ourselves either way.

I think I am just going to put Student. I want to do it in a way where it will go through as quick as possible. Seeing student will excuse the fact that I have no job I guess. Great piece. I hate when people say "the founding fathers wrote the 2A when weapons were nothing like they are today! If they were alive today they would not have written it in the same way!" It had nothing to do with the type of weapons.

Techincally I am mainly a student. I do help my dad out with his business however he just pays me cash under the table to use for myself. I could put his business as my employer but I don't get paid in check so I don't know if they could check that. Also, my dad isn't exactly pro-gun and that might spark an argument if they contact him. If I put "student" will that be a problem? I would put "self-emplyed" but I am not actually "self-employed". I am going to be handing in the forms later today, was just wondering if anyone had some advice.

Kids are pretty smart. People often dismiss their opinions automatically. I've found they can often have better ideas and views than many adults if you take them seriously and just listen. Haha at the time machine comment though.

Hey guys, I decided to join the forum to partake in discussion with like minded individuals when it comes to firearms. I am somewhat ashamed to admit my interest in firearms was sparked from playing Call of Duty. I always did know that, being a video game, it was hardly completely accurate. For the last year I have been doing moderate research into firearms. I like to watch youtube videos, especially the Fun Gun Reviews by Sootch00. More recently though my interest in actually getting one has been about self/familial defense and the statisics that support such armed defense. I am finally going to go to my local PD and get my papers this Monday to fill out so I can buy my first handgun. As far as I know I am going to need four different forms correct? One for buying firearms, one for handguns specifically, one for the backround check and mental health, and one for general information? I plan on getting a Glock 19 Gen4. Hopefully they don't ban magazines with a 15 round carrying capacity before I get the chance to. From what I have read Glocks are reliable and last long. I do know the Gen4's had a small problem with the springs I think it was, but that has since been remedied.
