Has anyone actually have shot this stuff? How does it feed?
  2. There's nothing going on at the site. The property looks exactly like it always did.

    The Road ---Movie

All true. And those hard working folks will keep plowing ahead as they've always did regardless of the circumstances. All others, will do as they always did: sitting on their behinds bitching the gov. isn't there anymore to help them. Or get killed first, or resort to lawlessness.

Would eat mine right now if I could.

  6. Life sentence. No other alternatives.
  7. And that's why I'm against the death penalty. Death is final. If the gov gets it wrong, there's no remedy and it has gotten it wrong a lot of times. Besides, do you really want 12 easily swayed, mentally challenged mouth breathers deciding if you live or die? I don't.
  8. Thanks. I'm thinking of going on a different direction.
  9. Morris and Essex counties, please. Long story short: 12 year old car with 217,000 got rear ended. Nothing too bad. I would like to have an idea of how much it will cost to fix before I proceed with an insurance claim. If there's a chance that the insurance co will declare it a total loss, I'll leave them out of it and fix it on my own. Please pm for details. Will pay for your time with money, beer or ammo. Thank you

  11. So, I ordered a box of Win. M22 on 2/25. Got the following email on 2/26: "Hello! Thank you for your recent order. Cabela’s appreciates your interest in our merchandise and we welcome this opportunity to serve your sporting needs. Unfortunately, we are unable to get authorization on the credit card that was used on your order. Please contact our Customer Relations Department at your earliest convenience." Unable to get authorization on the credit card used??? Dafug?? It's their CC. So I called in. And went something like this: Hi, I got this email about a problem with my CC. Yes, where did you find out about that ammo being available? Saw it in a forum See, that's the problem. Those links sometimes are not updated---honestly I zoomed out after that. I saw I wasn't getting the ammo- No problem, it's not a big deal. And it isn't a big deal. Inventory issues happen. But I was thinking all day long, why just not send an email canceling the order? That would have been fine, and has been done before. Why have me calling in? So I emailed them back that evening: "A simple "we are canceling your order" email would have sufficed instead of having me calling the 800 number to be told the same. Thank you" So I got the cancellation notice on the 27th, sold out for the season. No big deal. I don't need it to stave off the invading hordes. I just really wish they had sent the cancellation email instead of having me calling in.
  12. Maybe it was one of them ghost guns.
  13. Red, in the context of the article and graph in it, means " no carry" not political voting patterns. At least that's the way I read it.
  14. I know what Volokh is saying and he's technically correct, but: "By 2014, the percentage of people living in the Red states, with no possibility of even applying for a permit, has declined to zero." we all know that's really not so. He, later, does acknowledge that getting a ccw in NJ is extremely rare. Regardless, this can only be good news for us.
  15. Indeed. The wife and I did it a couple times. Loads of fun and a great way to break in new people into shooting and gun ownership. Unfortunately it came to an end unless somebody steps up to help. From their facebook page: Hope everyone has been enjoying the Olympics! Don't the winter biathletes make it look easy?! If ever NJ were to venture into the winter variety of biathlon, this certainly would have been the year! But for 2014, we have a new challenge. It is with great appreciation but a wee bit of sadness that I share the news that our Chief of Range, Paul Mossip, and his lovely wife Emmy, are retiring from their volunteer posts. I have always stressed that I am AMAZED at their hard work and dedication to NJ Summer Biathlon, considering that they do not compete or have any family members that compete - they are just really, really nice people. Along with Mom Caroline, they have given almost 20 years of volunteer service to us. They have more than earned the right to step back But...without a Chief of Range, we cannot host events. Period. Keep in mind that Paul Mossip also owned the rifles, and without him, we have no loaner rifles for beginners. This would mean that until a solution is found, our events would only be held for individuals who own rifles. Even then, I really need a new crew of dedicated individuals to step up and help time the events and work the range. NJ Summer Biathlon has always been a group effort and its success is due to our amazing volunteers. I would greatly appreciate any ideas you might have as to the future of our events. Maybe you know someone who would be willing to be our Chief of Range? Please share your thoughts and ideas If you have specific questions about how our events work, especially with the firearms laws in NJ, let me know. Fingers crossed that we can find a way to continue hosting fun & safe biathlons here in the Garden State! Enjoy the Winter Olympics and all our East Coast snow and I look forward to hearing from you! https://www.facebook.com/pages/NJ-Summer-Biathlon/111322242229252 The loaner rifles were Marlin 2000, blue poly stock with peep sights, I think. Nothing fancy. This was done for the fun of it. Anybody can and are willing to help?
  16. It's going to be a while. I drive by every day and the property still has the for sale sign on it. Also it's a very short distance from a day care center. It's not going to be pretty when the soccer moms find out that a range with all those black, evil guns may be going up next door.
  17. Wow, thanks for this tread. Next time the wife and I go to the range we'll drive separate cars. I'll take the guns and she'll take the magazines and ammo. Furthermore, we'll depart the house two hours apart so there's no chance of us crossing paths until we are inside the range. We never know what can happen. Should I filed strip the guns and put each little component in it's little baggy with a little lock? One can never be to safe, you know.
  18. Here: http://www.nj.com/politics/index.ssf/2013/11/election_2013_state_senate_results.html Except for a race or two, the results are pretty lopsided either way. District gerrymandering at its finest. Gov. Christie had a chance to undo that during the last redistricting, but he failed.
  19. 2013 election results: Loretta Weinberg 68.5% 28,321 votes Paul A. Duggen 31.5% 13,038 votes Sandra Cunningham 73.1% 18,822 votes Maria Karczewski 26.9% 6,932 votes Nia Gill 73.1% 27,132 votes Joseph Cupoli 26.9% 9,972 votes When the incumbents win with margins like these, do you think they care? Do you think it matters to them if they lose a couple percentage points?
  20. It wouldn't hurt to call/write your own senator to support/cosponsor the proposed bill. Of course if your senator is either Senator Weinberg , Senator Cunningham or Senator Greenstein, don't waste your time.
  21. Not getting crazy at all. What I was trying to convey and didn't come through is that, while I agree with old school's thoughts, boycotting the FFl's is nearly impossible since we don't know how many got the same request and how many complied. And we never will know.
