    good...eff them!

There was a time that I was spending 100's per month between soccer cleats, sneakers and other random sports needs.  Now we buy local or via zappos/amazon.

Same here.  Had three kids who all played high school and college sports.  We found alternate sources and diverted close to a couple thousand $$$ a year to other sources!

  2. So, let me get this straight.  France has very strict firearms laws, basically disarming the general population in order to make everyone safer.  Now there is a bit of social unrest and who are the first to get arms?  The lawless, violent rioters who steal weapons directly from the police?

And who is left unarmed and vulnerable... you guessed it, the law-abiding citizens.

  3. We had it for a while, but as others mentioned, got tired of the annual or even 6 month call to bargain down the price.

Switched to Spotify Family a while back and that seems to be working, the whole family gets an account up to 6 people.

  4. Hmm... we have a joint account, I worked 2 jobs for years paid for the mortgage, kid's private school, 3 college educations and funded a retirement.  My wife didn't work.  I think I I need to look into separate accounts.

  5. Thanks for the replies, I am debating sending it back to Ruger, but it looks like a really minor repair, something that I should be able to easily do. The spring may even still be there, but it may have slipped off.  I may take a look tonight and if the disassembly is as easy as it looks, I might just do it myself.

  6. I think I need to repair or replace the slide stop spring on my SR22.  The slide stop will lock the slide open when engaged but needs to be manually depressed in order to allow the slide to move forward, the stop stays up and doesn't drop down when I pull the slide back.

From what I can see on an exploded parts diagram, there is a small spring that should keep the slide stop down and it looks like that spring is either broken or has fallen off.

Has anyone ever had to change this spring?  It looks like I can get the firing assembly out of the frame by removing a roll pin at the handle.

If anyone has any experience with this I would appreciate it.

    Thanks!

  7. So, somehow my son lost both keys for his truck, a 2010 Ford F150

I would guess that even a 2010 uses a key with a transponder/chip.  Any suggestions on where we can get another key made?  My son has access to the truck using the key codes, but we need a new key.  Do I have to go to the dealer, or can a lock smith make one?

    Any recommendations would be appreciated.

We are in Central Jersey in Allentown.

    Thanks.

Battery... If you close to west caldwell. I can load test the battery for you

Thank you for the offer, I will probably just change out the battery.  It is testing less than 12.6V open circuit and drops way down when lights are turned on, so I am thinking it is starting to go.

An $1000 "at least" for an alternator?!  :fie:

What kind of car is this? How old is the battery?

VA to NJ with non functioning alternator? You would stalled out in an hour or less.

2013 Mazda 3, battery is probably 4-5 years old.

Yep, VA to NJ plus back and forth to work for a week.

Those chain shops overcharge to the point of robbery.

Probably a bad battery, if you get 13.9v at idle.

Yes- 13.9v at idol. I am thinking bad battery or... my lovely daughter left a light or something on in the car.

  10. My daughter just recently moved to Richmond VA after graduating college.  She called me last week to tell me that her car wouldn't start, and she thought it was the battery.  Of course, she didn't leave any of the lights on or anything like that (had to take her word),

I told her to get a jump and if it starts take it to the local Midas and if needed get a new battery.  She went to Midas, and they told her she needed a new alternator, and it would cost her at least $1000.

I told her to hold off and I would check myself.  After she got the jump start, she drove the car for a week back and forth to work with no issues. She works nights, so she drove home every night with the lights on, a 10-minute drive but lights on, nonetheless.

When I met her this weekend, I first tested the battery with the car off, got 12.3V.  With the car running I got 13.9V.   To me, this points to a good alternator and a weakening battery since it was below 12.6V under no load.

Was the dealer trying to scam a 22-year-old girl or could the alternator still be bad?  I drove the car from VA back to NJ with no issues.

    Thanks,

Sounds like a solution in search of a problem. Why not just make the scale eye level?  I guess if you eye sight problems this make some sense. Give it a try and see,  whatever process works best for you is what you should do.

This is my second option, bringing the scale up to eye level and making the platform large enough for a powder trickler.  I think the camera option might be easier.

This will only be for rifle loads that I do on my single stage, I have a powder cop for my progressive that I use for my pistol loads.

  12. I have seen reloaders using video cameras hooked up to their laptop to zoom in on the zero pointer of their balance beam.  I am thinking about giving this a try, I did a quick experiment with just my phone, and it made it much easier to see the pointer.

Has anyone else tried this and if so, is there a camera that you recommend?

    Thanks!
