  1. The law says "directly to or from any target range" so you are covered going from range to range - you are going directly from AND to a target range. Ultra compliance!

Note it says "any" target range, not target range whose rules allow that particular type of firearm.

I think if you read the statute, you are covered even if you go to the target range when it is closed. Doesn't say the range has to be open for business, or that you have to get your stuff out and actually shoot there.

That is why, when returning from PA with a pistol in your car, it makes a certain New Jersey sense to drive to a public range parking lot near the border (such as Heritage Firearms off 78, Ready Aim Fire off the PA Turnpike, etc) - whether or not the range is open - before crossing the border back into NJ on your way home. Then you are traveling "directly from a target range" for your return trip in NJ to your house in NJ.

Of course, to do so would be ridiculous, but the law is ridiculous. If the law says do jumping jacks or it is a felony, you do jumping jacks.

This is a great example of why things are out of control in this state. You are federal allowed to remove any of your guns from this state. So how is it any of the states business where you go when you leave this state. Why do you have to stop at a range? Maybe your coming from family in PA and you were shooting on their property. If I go to PA I usually am carrying concealed. I could give a crap about stopping at a range parking lot just to make it "legit". Don't over complicate things and make this state any more retarded.

  2. Chaz and Brian suggested LVSC last weekend so we ended up going. The cold weather seemed to keep most people out, other than the hardcore shooters. It was windy as hell and made it very difficult. I shot an 89 which wasn't too bad considering the weather. I finally shot all 6/6 at the rabbit station…god damn that felt good. Those stupid fu*(#!$@ rabbits always get in the way of me shooting a perfect score, and of course I end up shooting them perfectly on the windiest day ever. Never fails..

The next shootout will either be March 29th or April 5th. Most likely the 5th so my 930 has enough time to arrive for it. Ahhh yes.

Wait you shot all 6 rabbits? Really?

Pics or I call bs. I know how much you love that station.

  3. Knuckle Sandwich all depends on the area, style and how much pressure there is from them. Privacy type fence 5' would work. If they can't see what's on the other side they won't jump it. If it's any kind of fence with openings 6-8' A smaller area and neighbors without a fence it's easier to go next door and you can get away with less.

  4. However you get rid of them if you don't fill their holes in somebody else will move in. Typically a groundhog will look for an existing den before making a new one. Don't just fill with dirt though. Wire and broken glass. Anything that would be nasty to dig in. Rocks won't slow them down much unless it's a boulder.

  5. What about deer? I have a major deer problem, like a herd of 15 deer shitting and pissing in my small backyard. I even contracted Lyme disease last year (I always check for ticks). These PITAs were not here before me, they were elsewhere until the state decided to deforest a few hundred acres and build a hospital.

The biggest carrier of deer ticks are mice and squirrels. If you have a cat that goes in and out they will bring those little bastard ticks inside. If the deer really have you pissed shoot me a pm, I'm a fence guy.

  6. Hey everyone,

Glad you all had a fun time. I m sure it was a change to shoot in a bit warmer weather.
