  1. I've heard of them. Never used them. I doubt they will "remove the burn" as that's the alcohol. Higher the proof/ percentage of alcohol the higher the burn. Life's to short to drink cheap whisky or bourbon. Not saying you have to buy hundred dollar or more bottles. There are PLENTY of bottles in the $25 - $60 range that are good to very good. Half the fun of drinking whiskey or bourbon is trying different ones and enjoying what makes each different and finding ones you enjoy. If you are just buying the cheapest and largest bottles than those things certainly can't hurt. I recently picked up Wild Turkey Rare Breed. I thoroughly enjoyed it. It's a higher proof (120ish I think) so it will have more of a burn. It may be replacing Jack Daniel's Single Barrel as my favorite. If you are newer to whiskey & bourbon drinking check out Old Forester 86. The 750ml bottle is around $25. It's good. Especially for $25! Russel Reserve 10 Year is also pretty good. My local go to store has had it on sale for $38. It too is very good for not too much money. I need to pick another bottle up soon.
  2. They use it to make the process more difficult. PERIOD. Years ago I actually had to go to a police department and be interrogated when I was a personal reference for a friend's pistol permit. It was completely absurd and WAY overboard. But they wouldn't sign off on his pistol permits unless I did so. Nothing to do with CYA on the issuing authority and EVERYTHING to do with making it more difficult for people to apply.
  3. Never thought I would have a reason to visit the Conceal Carry section. SO happy I now do!!
  4. And no need to have ANY answer for the "Justifiable Need" section. It has been officially dropped and all Police Chiefs should have been notified. https://www.anjrpc.org/page/NJDropsJustifiableNeed?fbclid=IwAR2ckKtGbnTW9u6Hujw51bgfl0R5ehu0MzgmlW6CnuvrY0JbFh-9ysWB78w&fs=e&s=cl
  5. NJ has officially dropped "justifiable need" requirement and all Police Chiefs should have been notified. GREAT way to start the weekend!!! https://www.anjrpc.org/page/NJDropsJustifiableNeed?fbclid=IwAR2ckKtGbnTW9u6Hujw51bgfl0R5ehu0MzgmlW6CnuvrY0JbFh-9ysWB78w&fs=e&s=cl
  6. If I had to guess they will all most likely be offering it as a service to non-LEO ASAP Why wouldn't they?
  7. List of ranges to for qualifying score that you'll need to provide when applying for NJ Conceal Carry License. https://nj.gov/njsp/firearms/shooting-ranges.shtml I guess it's time to start looking at the 'Conceal Carry" section on the forum.
  8. I'm sure they won't make it easy. Probably make it as difficult as possible. Still, VERY good news.
  9. I have a couple of these as well. Really like them. Need to order a few more.
  10. Bringing this thread back! So what have you been drinking? Right now, Old Forster 100 Bourbon on the rocks. Tried the Old Forester 86 and LOVED in. Figured more proof is more better. Want to pick up a bottle of the Old Forester 1920: Prohibition Syle. Have heard good things. Also picked up the two new offerings, Bottled In Bond & Triple Mash, from Jack Daniel's recently. Liked the Triple Mash better. Picked up a bottle of Wild Turkey Rare Breed. Have heard VERY good things about it. Waiting to drink it with one of my fiends. Also picked up a a bottle of Jack Daniel's Single Barrel. Cant' go too long without one of those.
  11. I pity the fool!!....who thought "inflation would be transitory". Around 25k. They just tore off the bandaid. But haven't realized the wound is infected yet.
  12. Market continuing downward slide. Down 800 on Friday and currently down 675. Crypto getting CRUSHED today as well.
  13. Got the beds all done. Transplanted 5 tomatoe plants (beef steak & Rutgers). Unfortunately waited too long and all my cucs and zuchs I had started from seed died. Were too over crowded. Early today I went to purchaed Egg Plant, Zucchini and Sweet Pepper plants from HD and put them in. I am going to replant cucumbers from seeds. Hope to get it done tomorrow but forecarst is looking like all rain, all day. Also going to plant lettuce, carrots, beets and a few other things.
  14. $4.89 at Costco in North Plainfield. And I can confirm that they do indeed have signs out saying starting beginning July 5th that you'll need to be a Costco Member to buy gas there. I was tempted to drive around to see how their prices compared but not while driving the 2004 6.0L V8 Yukon. After I filled up and reset MGP dispaly it actually LOST MPGs while idling at red lights. LOL. https://news.yahoo.com/costco-barring-non-members-buying-174848141.html
  15. CZ-75 or other version (SP-01, P01, etc), a semi-auto 22 target pistol (Browning Buckmark, Ruger Mark IV, etc) or a nice snub nose revolver if the 357 you already own isn't a snubbie.
  16. Modern Material Brake looks likea good bang for your buck. Many of the others are only $30 - $40 more so not "a lot" of difference money wise but still a slight difference. https://modernmateriel.com/product/modern-materiel-v2-muzzle-brake/ Interesting video showing the Surefire MB556 brake and the Surefire Warden Blast Diffuser Combo. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GekzjiIKeOE
  17. I was looking for a comp about 8 years ago and came across a video about the "Deployment Comp" by Wheaton Arms. I had never heard of it so I started a threat about it and comps in general. https://www.njgunforums.com/forum/index.php?/topic/68833-recommend-compensator-anyone-use-wheaton-arms-comp/&tab=comments#comment-872521 This is the video, while a little old (2015)it explains it well and has some good information about the comp. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tWqt7xjY9NA I still have the AR and everyone who has ever shot it really likes it. It is "blasty" if you are on either side of it but if you are at the rifle range and worried or bothered by loud noises then maybe you shouldn't be at a rifle range. Here is a link to the product. I wouldn't hesitate to buy one again. https://wheatonarms.com/product/wheaton-arms-deployment-comp-5-56-with-black-nitride-qpq-finish/
  18. @Cheflife15 So .....what ya' get??
  19. He'll be driving 50k miles a year. What is the mileage component of that warranty? According to Nissan's website I'm only seeing "Almost every Nissan – including yours - comes with a 3-year/36,000 mile limited warranty, and a 5-year limited powertrain warranty. For enhanced protection, Nissan also offers optional extended warranties." https://www.nissanusa.com/owners/ownership/warranty.html
  20. Nope. Nor will they cover the THOUSANDS of other times each and every year that defensive gun use occurs. And THOUSANDS of times per year is at the low end if the estimates. I've discussed it in the past in various threads but if you aren't familiar with how often firearms are used defensively each and every year then please do a little "googlefu" to look into it. The low end estimates are DGU (Defensive Gun Use) is at least equal to the estimate of criminal usage. At the higher end it's in the hundreds of thousands. Real number is probably something the middle. A very important point to keep in mind is that the vast majority of DGU (95+% or close to it) occurs without a shot ever having to be fired. Restricting private gun ownership would create THOUSANDS of new victims each and every year.
  21. Don't know as much about Mazdas. From what little I know they are trying to position themselves as more "upscale". Stay away from Nissans. Their transmissions (CVT transmissions) are less than reliable. The Nissan Frontiers with manual transmissions are supposed to be pretty reliable if you want a truck. I wouldn't touch a Nisaan with automatic transmission though. What type of vehicle to you need? If just something to get you from A to B as cheaply and reliably as possible then I would seriously look at a Toyota Corolla. If you need an SUV to lug stuff around then look at some of the Toyota and Honda small to midsized SUVs. Toyota RAV4, Honda Passport, Honda Ridgeline if you want/ need something with a bed. I'm going to repeat this because it's worth repeating. Stay away (FAR AWAY) from anything GM.
  22. Two words. Toyota & Honda. I would probably be looking for a used Corrola or maybe a Camry. Definelty a four cylinder. Good luck.
  23. Do you know what exactly you are looking for as far as make, model and year? Do you know price ranges? Always a use in haggling. And for goodness sake, don't tell them you are looking to buy today! Be willing, and I encourage you, to walk away. Looks at a few different lots. Also, don't buy a GM vehicle. They are complete crap.
