  1. We should make this happen when the weather warms up a bit and all chances of weekly snow storms subside......prob around May the way this winter is going! Hope you are feeling better Checko.
  2. Nice, have been wanting a Dual Tone CZ. Since they stopped making them a few years ago (and have gotten expensive on GunBroker) I'll have to look into this for my all "evil" black CZ 75.
  3. Your CZ SP-01 is my favorite gun as well.......don't tell my CZ 75B I said that!
  4. We'll be talking soon. What are you asking for the Witness Match?
  5. Already havebthe CZ 75B. Considering the 92Fs because it is a beautiful and iconic gun.....and because I see them every so often as police trade in specials for very reasonable prices.
  6. Put in for 2 permits at end of January. Was just curious about what handguns other people may be looking at. For me I'm seriously thinking of getting an EAA Witness match or some derivitative of. Would be looking at the 9mm and also to pick up the 22 conversion kit. For 2nd permit there are many purchases I'm considering: S&W MP Beretta 92FS A dedicated 22 prob a Ruger or Buckmark A 2nd revolver? Maybe an affordable (read Phillipine made) 1911 A Glock......gasp! What is everyone looking at buying?
  7. Any general estimate when the Whippany range would be opening? Summer, fall etc? About how long does it take to build an indoor range? I l know it depends on many factors but am just curious.
  8. I only have 2 (for now). I appreciate my Ruger GP100 for it's simplicity and ease to use and I really enjoy the accuracy of my CZ 75B. I love them both equally.
  9. LOL. Hey, you don't have a sticker fired gun yet either.......
  10. OP (Original Poster) - give this a thought or two to start out. Mossberg 3-in-1: http://www.slickguns.com/product/mossberg-model-500-12-ga-3-1-home-defense-hunting-and-cruiser-low-312-your-local-dealer-tax
  11. Sarco in Easton. A few doors down from Heritage Guild.
  12. Got tired of waiting for the S&W 1911 huh to come in? Nice pick up on the Springfield TRP! I give you less than a month before you are talking about your next purchase.... Have you read the link about the Chiappa 22 Upper conversion for ARs? .....See what I did there. http://njgunforums.com/forum/index.php/topic/65920-chiappa-m4-vs-spike-st-22-dedicated-upper-range-report/
  13. EAA WITNESS MATCH. Can purchase multiple caliber conversion kits (22, 9, 38 super, 45, 10mm) that actually available and you will not need pistol permits to add concersion kit. Or CZ75 or some thing in the CZ family that you like (SP-01, P07, etc). Good luck.
  14. I onlg picked up.2 boxes of 9mm target ammo. Was $17.50 but I'm a member so got 10% off. You can def fin cheaper.....but I was standing there and was running a little low on 9mm.

  16. Stopped by last night. Seemed they had plenty of ammo. Unless my eyes were playing tricks on me there was a sign that said "No restrictions". They have 22 in stock as well. Call before you go as I was pretty tired last night, only noticed the sign in passing and would hate to send someone there if I misread it. Hope its true. Good luck!
  17. LOL....don't worry. I promise it won't be THAT long of a build!
  18. If you want to have any type of relationship with your step mother and half brother or if you want your children to have any type of relationship with their grandmother then bringing a suit / lawyering up will be the worst possible thing you could ever do. I would speak with your step mother one last time and explain to her what it would mean to you if you could have the gun or few guns that you are referring to. Offer to buy them. If the answer is still no then it's no. Maybe the guns mean something to your half brother? Maybe he is just a loser that likes to tell you no? Maybe your stepmother is a manipulative witch and knows it hurts you or likes the power she has over you.. If it's no, it's no. Don't argue, don't get loud, etc. Just walk out, cut ties with them and never look back. Use the money you would have probably wasted suing them, go purchase the exact same guns and start building some memories with your kids. Even if it is just a teaching them to shoot or spending the day at the range with dad and some burgers afterwards. Those will be your memories with your kids that nobody (your step mother your half brother, etc) can never take from you. You can't let negative people drag you down. If for whatever reason your stepbrother and / or stepmother don't want to give you the guns or let you buy them from them, then move on. Life is too short to waste dealing with such people. Good luck.
  19. Ha,ha. So true. What ever it does, it does. I'm not worring about it. I wonder how many people are like, "Damn, another snow storm! Better run out to the grocery store to get milk and bread......OH WAIT! I still have 4 gallons of milk and 3 loaves of bread left from running out to the grocery store before all the other storms! Maybe I should stay put....???? Nah. THIS storm could be "THE ONE!". I better run out and get some more milk and bread.....just in case. Sure hope there is some left!"
  20. Getting a little ahead of myself here, but I was reading one of the stickies (I've linked below) about twist ratios. From my limited reading and the purpose of my build (SHTF, very reliable, etc) it sounds like the 1:9 twist is the way to go. It readily eats the most common weighted (55 grain) and I don't anticipate ever using this rifle as a sniper rifle where I'm shooting out several hundred yards. http://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/2012/08/foghorn/ask-foghorn-barrel-twist-and-which-is-right-for-your-ar-15/ Another article with some good info (and additional articles for newbies including a "Build vs Buy" article) is: http://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/2013/10/robert-farago/ar-15-rifle-choices/ I have to think about it more.....if there isn't much of a price difference between a 1:7 twist and a 1:9 twist barrel it may be more logical to go with the 1:7 as it gives you more options such as shooting heavier bullets if that is all that is available....... P.S. - I'm linking things as much for my own reference to be able to find the information again as to share with other newbies who may have similar questions. Hope it helps some others (and makes it easier for me to remember where I read something!).
  21. Have to wait to see what my tax situation is before buying anything else major. So I have to pass on the Spikes upper for now. Does seem like good buy though.
  22. Like what I have been reading about the ALG ACT trigger but haven't tried one yet. Seriously thinking about getting it, preferably with some sort of kit to try to save a little. Would like to build the upper but from what little I have read it seems you really won't save much at all by doing so.....plus I have no tools to attach the barrel. If I'm wrong about the savings part let me know. How much would it costs to purchase the necessary tools to attach the barrel? It seems the other tools aren't too expensive. Is it worth it to buy tools to attach barrel if I'll I won't be building multiple rifles? I wasn't just looking at the Spikes upper in the "Hot Deals" thread..... http://www.aimsurplus.com/product.aspx?item=XSTU5050MLSDC but if I had been, how does Spikes compare to BCM? I realize the Spikes is ready to go out of the box and with the BCM uppers I've been eyeing I know I would need to add a BCG and charging handle and rails, etc. Would Spikes be comparable or fit my requirements of trying to build the Ruger GP 100s of ARs?
  23. Made it through the weekend without ordering any parts. Had a few close calls. Maybe it helped I was slighly hung over Sunday morning and had to take down the outside Christmas lights and complete a few items on the "honey do" lists........next weekend will be more difficult. Who am I kidding? It's snowing now, suppossed to snow Wednesday and we may get hit (possible hard) on Saturday! Besides shoveling snow, I'll be couped up in the house looking at parts all week on the internets! One day at a time, one day at a time.......stay strong.
  24. I don't understand why people get anxious, nervous, worried, etc about the snow. I could understand it if you just moved from Florida or Arizona and it was your first ever real snow storm. But for people who have lived in the area their entire lives? If it's supposed to snow, I'll wake up a little early so I can dig out the mess the plows left on the apron of my driveway and dig out my car if necessary. If I can pull out without shoveling I'll wait until I get home to do it. I then proceed (carefully) with the rest of my day.....what else is one supposed to do? Worse case scenario you'll be snowed in for a day or two......and that has never happened to me once yet.
  25. Stumbled across the "Youtuber" Hijack86. Have watched a few his "AR 15 Do's and Don't". Very informative for newbies like myself. Also like that he has the times he changes/introduces different subjects in the description. You can jump right to a particular topic without watching a bunch of stuff you don't want to or you're not interested in. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xX-4e9sLSGo&list=PL27aPi0wwL00yM5vuKFfcfBXEu9412IjY&feature=c4-overview-vl
