He showed up on time, and called to update me on his itinerary. Remembered to bring his documents. Good guy! I hope to do business with him again.

What should my inventory look like?

That's the spirit! I'll be happy to oblige. -

I won't be able to get most of the things on my list this year. I'm just saying that I have some friends who are going to help me keep my shelves from being absolutely bare. I'm probably smaller than you are. -

I probably won't rely on wholesalers initially given the state of things. I have some sources but they're based on personal relationships. -

I'll have a couple of Sigs. My location is near Lafayette. -
Cool, I've started carrying just because the FFL is basically a lock right now . . . . just kidding, just kidding! I'm pretty sure most FFLs in the state do not have a carry permit. You can carry on your business premises but not in your vehicle, or across the dark parking lot at the UPS customer hub, or anywhere else you might get mugged and have your cash and merchandise stolen. Absolutely. I'm willing to accept inconvenience and to do a little research for customers. For example, I wouldn't dismiss something like magazine rebuild kits out of hand; I would first look for conclusive evidence that I can sell them (read through statute or case law) and contact the firearms unit as a last resort if I couldn't find the answer. I welcome information from customers too. Unlike the guys in PA who refused to sell me a Saiga 12 because it was "based on an AK47 action." I'm afraid the process will be a lot harder after the madness.

I actually have an AR-57 upper. The introduction of a 4.6 upper would need to go hand in hand with an ammo importation arrangement.
-
I have an itch to try out something in 4.6 x 30mm. Does anyone know who might be working on an AR upper assembly or a pistol in this caliber? Apparently HK canned the UCP: http://www.hkpro.com/forum/hk-handgun-talk/126642-hk-ucp.html. I would really like to see what this caliber does in a full-length barrel.

No complaints from anyone about the Thermolds. Accroding to Magpul's Chevy truck test video, they survive the "slow pass" with the truck. The Zytel Thermold mags will be superior to the Thermold mags built under license by the Canadian Army. The Canadian mags tended to melt if you were firing blanks full-auto. I don't imagine you're going to using blank rounds or firing class III weapons, so you're probably OK even with some of the old Canadian mags.

Will consider Sig. The Taurus Raging Judge makes two revolvers. Call me tacky, but I might just throw in some of my personal collection to flesh out my inventory. -

I think it just became an impulse buy for me. -
As I prepare to open my doors (figuratively speaking), I probably won't be able to buy more than a couple dozen firearms (if that). I have a dealer account with DPMS at this point. I also intend to stock Magpul accessories (once I can send a respectable storefront picture to the distributor). What sort of weapons would you like to see for my initial purchases? I may not be able to afford (or find) all of these firearms initially, but this is about what I want my inventory to look like.: Ruger LCP Ruger Mini 14 (tactical, target, ranch?) Ruger Mark III (TALO target with rail and birdcage?) S&W M&P22 S&W M&P15 S&W M&P9 S&W Airweight .38 DPMS LR-308 DPMS Sportical DPMS SASS upper assembly DPMS AP4 upper assembly Mossberg 500 (Some "tactical" flavor) Mossberg 715t Savage Rascal Savage 93R17 Taurus Raging Judge (.454 Casull/45 LC/.410) Springfield 1911 (Plain Vanilla Mil-Spec blued barrel) Springfield XDM 45 Springfield XD Subcompact .40 Glock 21 Glock 19 Remington 700 SPS .308 Remington 870 express (slug gun) Saiga 12 Saiga 7.62x39 Hi-point JHP .45 Hi-point C-9 Hi-point .380 Hi-point carbine 9mm and .45 Masterpiece Arms 5.7 *edit* Alexander Arms upper assemblies in 300 AAC Blackout and .17 HMR Please share your "up or down" vote. Please also suggest additions. Pictures to follow.

Just kicking around ideas about what handgun I'd like to get
NorthJersey replied to Kaiser7's topic in Handguns
Excellent plan. That's an excellent way to start. You can become proficient on the centerfire platform at 1/10 the cost in ammo. -
All out. Nuts!

The Mark III is certainly a real pistol. You don't like the caliber? Eventually everyone gets into rimfire because it employs inexpensive ammo, it's fun to shoot, and it's a pretty good deterrent to criminals. I would probably go for my .45 first in a home defense scenario, but five or ten rounds of .22 in rapid succession will really ruin a bad guy's day. Plus, as you amass more money for your collection you can have upgrades like this performed: https://www.volquartsen.com/category/11-mkiii-conversions/6-mkiii. I like the V-Magic II, myself. -
Just confirmed with Gretchen that they're all out across all locations.

Three Remingtons . . . and you think I'm made of money.
