  1. You better be careful using that common sense thinking brain of yours! you know the Guard doesn't like that!! That is like when Sandy hit, instead of activating us a day earlier they waited until hours before it hit.... made total sense
  2. This happens the first "big" storm after every REAL big storm... Since this is about the first terrible weather since Sandy (other than that snow a few days following) it was as usual blown up as big as they could. Shoprite and walmart have been MAD HOUSES the last 3 days... People OVER react sometimes... I am sitting at work fully expecting for the next shift to have TONS of call outs and ill be stuck for a double shift.... nature of the beast i guess
  3. I have a 5 yr old, a 1.5 yr old and one on the way. My 5 year old knows what I do for a living and has seen my pistol. He knows not to touch it and knows it is not a toy. He has nerf guns and LOVES playing military, cops and robbers, cowboys and indians, all that mess. He knows not to point his toy guns at anyone. He is not allowed to have a toy gun that is black nor touch one that is black and he knows that. He knows that real guns are not toys. He doesn't have the "OOOO what is that thing" mentality, he knows its a gun and knows it will kill. He may not fully grasp every aspect of it but he also will never go and touch it. In a few years he will fire my pistol to get that curiosity out of the way. I will take my son shooting and everntually my daughter. I found this story funny because my son has made guns out of his legos at home. He tells me all the time he wants to be in the military or be a police man... These idiots can bubble wrap their kids and shield them from every little thing all they want but I will raise my son the way I was raised. and if he gets suspended for a finger gun, then it may be time to start thinking about home school or a private school or maybe a school that believes and supports the NRA?!
  4. Didn't know there was a NJGF FB, will be "liking" that when I get home!
  5. Same here, mine is not a "may be" mine is a definite! Thankfully my job allows me to relocate nearly anywhere in the country...just waiting for offical word and once I get that green light I will NEVER look back at this state!
  6. I am already trying to relocate from NJ but it seems it is US as a whole that may be doomed... the one about the girl with a piece of paper that looked too near a gun killed me....
  7. As I read this, I had to re read it again and again! What are we doing to our youth?! Between all the anti bully laws, now this!? They want to plastic bubble wrap our kids so they are not exposed to anything and then when they get older they will be screwed! Its like your immune system... you have to get dirty and get sick and let your body fight off stuff to build your immune system, if you disinfect and sanitize everything forever your immune system will be weak. But seriously this is sad... They are making these kids into criminals... hope you enjoy /are disgusted by the read as much as I was: http://news.yahoo.com/newtowns-wake-schools-crackdown-imaginary-weapons-182805543--abc-news-topstories.html
  8. Something I was wondering... On a different forum I am on (ar15) there is a section where you can customize a shirt.... Any chance of NJGF shirts being sold on here? I would proudly sport a NJGF to one of these and then to have TONS ofthem in DC would be cool too! A way to meet up with people from here and find one another! just a thought...
  9. Mine was last week thank god, but we had a huge inspection so I am really glad it was not scheduled for this weekend!!
  10. Although I was unable to attend this even due to work related issues, I do plan on attending the next SAFE task force meeting. I am impressed and thankful for those thatwere able to attend and stood in the nasty weather to support MY rights! I appreciate every single one of you! I wish I could have been freezing my butt off out there with the rest of you! I must say I LOVED the signs!! The nail gun CCW one and the Defective gun were my 2 favorites! They had me hysterical!! Again I thank you freedom fighters out there from the bottom of my heart for doing what you did today (or now yesterday) and can not awit to stand next to you at this one and hopefully the DC one in May!
  11. Ocean County, When driving on 70 to Fort Dix for work tonight the roads were pretty bad until about Pemberton then it wasn't terrible. People driving 11 mph in the middle of the road is annoying. we have ab out 4-6 inches right now and its still snowing, looking out the window it is kinda pounding us right now. Prolly will be stuck at work if it doesn't let up.... 16 hours on Ft Dix.... no bueno!
  12. Signed! EDIT: And posted on AR15.com forum... When I get home I will also put this on my FB.

    SHOW ME!

I am hoping for my grand slam here soon! I am working on the fun paperwork for my FID and my wife says "why don't you apply for a pistol purchase permit as well" and i told her that they are timed to 90 days and I wasn't really planning on getting another pistol rightn ow. She then tells me "the one you carry all the time(basically like a CCW) is too big (full size taurus pt101 .40) why dont you get a smaller one when you get your rifle!" I knew there was a erason I married this woman!! Her only demands are that I teach her to shoot the rifle (which after lurking I may wind up buying a 5.56 AR (whenever I can find one) and a AR .22lr for her.) So realistically she is giving me the green light on 3 guns in a short period of time.... COME ON PAPERWORK!!
  14. Just so you know, MD had their rally on the 6th rather than the 8th like the rest of the nation! There were more than a thousand there in support of our rights!! I hope tomorrows turn out is triple that due to how restrictive this state already is!! Some heads up I heard for those attending tomorrow was to GET THERE EARLY!! This is the way to peacefully protest and stand up for our rights! I hope to see you guys out there! the NJ2A's have a sign up sheet on their site to get an etimate and some general guidelines such as NO CAMO. Heres a link to some coverage from the MD rally! http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2013/feb/6/gun-rights-advocates-swarm-annapolis-fight-omalley/

    SHOW ME!

While browsing another gun forum I came across a few pics of rifles that some guys did for their wives/daughters. There were also pics of ladies who did their own rifles (mostly AR's) so I wanted to see what you Jersey girls have... Did you girlie it up all pink and hello kitty or is it all tactical and blacked out?! (2 reasons for this post, 1 to see what you ladies have done or guys have done for your ladies, and two... so my wife can see the "cute" options for a rifle when we get her one) What she is currently in love with (S&W M&P 15 .22lr): Also she is fairly interested in one of these (Remington Versa Maz Zombie edition pink):

    EPIC!

Came across this today....took a while to read but VERY cool! From :http://slodive.com/inspiration/chest-tattoos/
  18. AR15.com lead me here (more specifically the Hometown Forum HTF NJ) as well as a Sure shot vs. Brick Armory question I google'd I lurked for about 2 weeks and finally registered when I couldn't see pics in the "for sale" forums on some well priced guns! I registered because not only the previous answer, but for a chance to learn more and ask my noob questions to people who have more knowledge than I in certain areas.
  19. Well hello there! As stated I am from Ocean County and am new to this forum! Most of what is needed to know about me is in my signature lol but ill go through it. I am here because like most of you I am a gun owner/ 2nd Ammendment supporter. I am a federal law enforcement officer (fancy title for Correction officer on the federal level) I am an Active Duty Air Force vet, currently in the NJ Air Guard. I have been done things such as deploy to Afghanistan and deploy to varrious parts of NJ( Hurricane Irene and Sandy). I'm happily married with 2 kids and one on the way (my second girl which is another reason I am here lol). I too am appalled by what happened in CT but don't feel I should be punished or treated like a sex offender because I own a gun and want to purchase more(yet another reason I am here). I have wrote letters to both sides of the political party in NJ and if all goes well, will be attending the Feb 8th rally (hope you guys are going too). I look forward to learning some things from you all (like why the heck a bayonette lug is illegal?) Anything more you would just have to ask or message me. Currently my only gun is a .40 Taurus PT101. I had a couple S&W M&P's and a springfield XD before I moved home to NJ a few years back but due to financials and anal gun laws I sold all but the taurus (others were worth a bit more than the taurus). Currently I am in the market for an AR15 (looking at the M&P-15 or possibly building one) and I know I could not have picked a worse time to be in the market for one. Wife is on board with my purchase and it was actually her idea! "you been looking at those for years and never get anything for yourself, why don't you get one with part of our taxes, you deserve it".... be jealous!! Alright, wel that about sums it up, I am glad to be here and will see you in the threads!
