  1. im sure there is a section within the forum on this if someone can't point me in the right direction, but i'd like to inqurie about shooting insrtuctors and their services in the Bergen County area totally new to shooting and would like to engage the services of a reputable instructor......want to do this the right way, so looking for a real "beginner's" course FYI I currently own a Beretta 92fs any info/help is much appreciated
  2. that is a pattern i've noticed myself......my 2 other firends dealt with a "lady behind the counter" and it took them about 6-7 weeks....my other 2 friends dealt with an officer and got theirs in about 3 weeks i got mine in 16 days dealing with an officer i think the ladies usually have tons of other paperwork they are in charge of
  3. thanks officer in charge told me to expect around a 2 month wait.....he stayed on top of it and it took 16 days from the moment i dropped off the apps to getting the approval officer peters was awesome to deal with....ive heard about other PDs treating applicants in a not so nice way, so i got lucky here
  4. applied with the Oradell PD.....officer in charge (Peters) told me to expect a 2 month wait got approved in 16 DAYS! the officer in charge stayed on top of it, very professional and pleasure to work with
  5. 1. Application type (FID/permit w/ existing FID). Initial FID and 2 PPs 2. Police Department where you applied. Oradell 3. Name of the person you dealt with at the PD. Officer Peters.....polite, personable, diligent 4. Time taken to issue FID and/or permit. 16 DAYS ! ! ! ! 5. Documents required by the PD (aside from the standard application and the mental health release form). just the usual 6. Notes - anything pertaining to the application process (unforeseen difficulties, chief of police calling your home, you hiring an attorney, etc.). Officer Peters called me to clarify a stupid "incident" I was involved in my freshman year of college....after explaining the details/circumstances of "incident" and realizing the non-issue of this incident...i was given the OK
  6. thanks alos like to add that my application process in Oradell was quick and efficient. The officer in charge was diligent and a pleasure to work with. Took 16 days from the day i handed in my paperwork to the day i was told to pick them up.
  7. just got my paperwork approved last week totally new to the firearms community and im looking forward to learning everything i can about gun ownership my main reason for applying was bc i gained an interest in hunting, so i look forward to learning about the sport as well
