  5. Boejoula, Thanks.... I have the spikes lower, I'm looking at a bunch of goodies for it now. I can certainly see it is not going to be cheap. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Thanks Earl.... Can I pm you if I have some more questions? Once I get this build rolling of course Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Earl, I'm no mechanic but I have a basic knowledge of your common hand tools ...Lol. That's why I'm interested in the ground up build. I think it will be rewarding to finally shoot something you build an then to shoot the rounds you made as well! I also do some reloading..lol. Just another aspect to the hobby.... 9. Earl, Thanks..... Yeah I'm kinda bit hard by the ar bug. I appreciate the info I'll check them out. If I decide to go with the option and build the upper from scratch, when I buy the barrel does it come with the barrel nut and how do I determine which gas block? By the diameter of the barrel I buy? Sorry for the ignorance !! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Scorpio, Thanks for the info. I should have mentioned it before. I would be just messing around at range. So I would be in that 16" length range. Thanks again for the info if you have any more input if love to hear it Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Im relatively new to the ar platform. Im going to attempt my first build. I have been doing some research, but im torn on what to do as far as barrel options. Should I get a complete upper or build it from the ground up. Im kinda leaning towards the later. I like the idea of building the "entire" gun myself. Im not in a hurry, and I think I would enjoy the experience. I have the stripped lower already and putting my list of goodies together for that build. The upper is what's killing me. With that said, any input on barrels and gas blocks and other parts along with an upper ofcourse.

Tell me your thoughts? Was thinking of trying some duck/goose hunts. 3" work? Or step up to the 3 1/2" intensity ? Camo or black synthetic ? Thanks for the input Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  15. Sorry.... This was the East Brunswick location Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Maybe it's been a while since I last bought ammo at dicks, but after clearing the ammo counter and being escorted to the cashier, upon checkout I was asked for my birth date and to acknowledge the question on keypad for credit card swiping affirming that I am a US citizen. I'm beginning to wonder if I am a citizen anymore! I asked to speak to a manager. He stated it was Dicks policy to ask for those 2 things. Any others experience this? Like I said it's been a while, but I don't think they'll be getting any of my future business Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Welcome! Great bunch of people here. With a lot of great info too! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. hey all i found it. thanks for the help Let's say I have this cake. It is a very nice cake, with "GUN RIGHTS" written across the top in lovely floral icing. I received it from the 2nd amendment and the Dick act of 1902. Along you come and say, "Give me that cake." I say, "No, it's my cake." You say, "Let's compromise. Give me half." I respond by asking what I get out of this compromise, and you reply that I get to keep half of my cake. Okay, we compromise. Let us call this compromise The National Firearms Act of 1934. There I am with my half of the cake, and you walk back up and say, "Give me that cake." I say, "No, it's my cake." You say, "Let's compromise." What do I get out of this compromise? Why, I get to keep half of what's left of the cake I already own. So, we have your compromise -- let us call this one the Gun Control Act of 1968 -- and I'm left holding what is now just a quarter of my cake. And I'm sitting in the corner with my quarter piece of cake, and here you come again. You want my cake. Again. You say, "Let's compromise once more." What do I get out of this compromise? I get to keep one eighth of what's left of the cake I already own? So, we have your compromise -- let us call this one the Machine gun ban of 1986 -- and I'm left holding what is now just an eighth of my cake. I sit back in the corner with just my eighth of cake that I once owned outright and completely, I glance up and here you come once more. You say nothing and just grab my cake; This time you take several bites -- we'll call this compromise the Clinton Executive Orders -- and I'm left with about a tenth of what has always been MY DAMN CAKE and you've got nine-tenths of it. Then we compromised with the Lautenberg Act (nibble, nibble), the HUD/Smith and Wesson agreement (nibble, nibble), the Brady Law (NOM NOM NOM), the School Safety and Law Enforcement Improvement Act (sweet tap-dancing Freyja, my finger!) I'm left holding crumbs of what was once a large and satisfying cake, and you're standing there with most of MY CAKE, making anime eyes and whining about being "reasonable", and wondering "why we won't compromise". I'm done with being reasonable, and I'm done with compromise. Nothing about gun control in this country has ever been "reasonable" nor a genuine "compromise".
  19. Maintenanceguy, thanks for the correction and input, however not to be ungrateful, do you have the entire comparison? I seem to remember it being a bit longer
  20. Hey everyone, Well today we saw yet another step towards losing more of our rights. Which brought me to this question. I can remember reading a post on this forum about the 2nd Amend. and our rights being compared to a slice of pie. Every time the antis come up with a new law, we lose more of OUR pie. Does anyone know where I can find that comparison? Id like to send that to Christie and the local papers in the op-ed sections. thanks for the help
