  1. Mine doesn't have a screw, it's just pressed into place very tightly and has to be wacked out and wacked back in, but with something that won't damage the slide or the sight.
  2. Or maybe this: http://www.amazon.com/Wheeler-780194-Brass-Punch-Set/dp/B003C7Q3TA/ref=sr_1_8?s=sporting-goods&ie=UTF8&qid=1383402324&sr=1-8&keywords=gunsmith+punch+set
  3. I've sorta got a similar question, if you don't mind if i piggy back on your thread. I bought a new fiber optic front sight for my springfield 1911. I want to punch out the stock front sight and then tap in the new fiber optic one. Is this the tool i need? http://www.amazon.com/Mayhew-25077-8-Inch-Knurled-Brass/dp/B000GTMQ0C/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1383402030&sr=8-4&keywords=non+marring+punch
  4. Everything i've been able to find so far says that even though my LWRC RERP is chambered in 7.62x51 is can handle either round interchangeably and so can almost all new "modern battle rifles". I'm still researching a bit more before i continue to use .308's in it.
  5. I don't have a ton of experience with scopes, but love the Leupold Rifleman 4-12x40 that i have on my .308 AR. I also like the bushmaster tactical elite 6-24x50 that i have on my rem 700 .308. The Leupold was about $299 and the bushmaster about $799. I prefer Leupold to Nikon, but i think they are interchangeable. Leupold is 100% made in the USA.
  6. I am really into photography, somehow there is a similar drive (addiction) between buying camera lenses and new guns I also build furniture, i've built my own entertainment center and my own bar, both from scratch without any plans. I also love to cook, eat, and drink, and yes damnit i love a fine cigar too.
  7. I would recommend the walther ppq m2 in 9mm. If i was going to get one for my wife i would put a laser on the rail and teach her to point and shoot. She would never spend a lot of time at the range so i think a laser would some how make it easier for her to use in self defense. The ppq has 3 sizes of back strap also, so its nice for small hands and feels and shoots great.
  8. I don't believe it's normal for references to have not been contacted by a month, but i only have experience in dealing with my township pd. The send letters out to the references within days of dropping off an application.
  9. I bought it used, and it didn't come with a manual or box or anything. So to the best of my internet dective abilities i believe it's a Remington 700 SPS Varmit with 26" heavy barel. What ever it is i absoluley love all 9 or 10 pounds of this fat bastard.

  11. I appreciate that offer and may take you up on it. I went two weeks ago with another member, i was there on like a Tuesday at 10pm and it was PACKED! Every shooting position occupied. I am almost certain that i will join up, it was like a 10 minute drive for me, and the fact that i could go at night is a huge plus. The only thing i want to do before i join for sure is to see the outdoor areas.
  12. No dispute, i settled a bit, i think the Bushnell was a good match for me at about half of what i thought i would have to spend to get a "quality" scope that went out to the ranges i wanted. I should have initially said quality, not high end Scopes, gun's, accessories, cars, tvs, everything in life is balancing act between what you want, what you need, what you can afford, and even what you know. I arrived at a good place, i could have paid 3 or 4 times more, but am still happy.
  13. Please tell me this was in your town and not the SP. Op when you applied did you ask what the turn around time was? Going by how long it is taking mine you are looking around Christmas time. I got two permits approved in March from east Brunswick after 7 week wait.
