No disrespect to the young lady behind the counter... She was excellent. Walked me through each form to be sure all was filled in correctly. Also told me to bring her back the completed form once I was done with the bio app so as not to risk it getting lost. I'd guess the process varies from town to town.

I'm in Edison and over the thirty days already. A friend recently had his FID processed in Piscataway in about thirty days. While admittedly jealous, very happy to hear it CAN be done in a timely manner. Is it me, or does it seem that towns that assign an officer seem to process faster than " the lady behind the counter" ?

Good old Google led me here. Only took a couple return visits before I decided to join. Googled questions kept leading me here, so why not start here?

Thank you all again for the warm welcome. I just wanted to add that yesterday's GFH class was excellent. My turn at the range was rather surprising. A Glock 9mm and a 38 snub were what they laid out for me. Is it alright to say how incredibly awesome it felt?? Ten shots with each. I kept them all on the paper. Lol. Very happy I decided to take that class.

Actually signed up for Basic Pistol at GFH - Randolph in the morning. Hope the weather cooperates. It's about an hour ride.

About as newbie as can be. Picked a lousy time to jump in. Have fired all of a handful of rounds my whole life. Filled my paperwork and completed bio app about a month ago. Still waiting...
