  1. i never saw molasses going in them. only brown sugar. i think i recall seeing sour cream, but don't recall seeing cream cheese. come to think of it, i don't think i've ever seen cream cheese in our house......
  2. oh yea.....and they just melted in your mouth.
  3. i remember having seen the recipe, and remember seeing brown sugar, and baking soda in it, but not much else
  4. chocolate cookies. no chips. soft and mushy if cooked properly. baked. oatmeal was the only addition. grandmom always made her own icing. moms other offspring and i used to fight over who got to lick the beaters after she made it. they were never perfectly round or uniform in size like you'd expect with cookies. she'd use a spoon to kinda slap the raw cookies onto a pan, then put them in the oven. they were effing delicious. i'd eat them till my stomach hurt from it, lol. then i got in trouble for eating so many. dammit......i miss her now, 'cause as i'm typing this, i'm hearing her humming as she's making them.
  5. dude, if my grandmom were still alive, i'd get some to ya. she made them the best.
  6. if he was a 'rat or not running for president, this most likely wouldn't have even made the news...
  7. if the mag ban thing gets the kabosh....which it should under bruen.........i think we'll be allowed standard capacity
  8. ok. i know there's bunches of us that're old, almost old, beyond old, reliving 2nd childhood, etc. so i'm taking a shot in the dark here. when i was a kid my grandmom used to make these chocolate oatmeal cookies with vanilla icing. i recall having seen a recipe she was using that i think was from the courier post. or it was published in there from someone else. this is at LEAST from the 1960's old, as i remember these through most of my childhood. moms other son used to have a copy of it, but he won't talk to me, so trying to get a copy from him isn't gonna happen. if he even still has it. so.......does anyone else remember these? had them? know where i can find the recipe? i googled and duckduckgo'd, not much luck. so now i'm here. thanks!
  9. """"""""""""" To prevent gun violence, and to mitigate the risk of mass shootings, the State of New Jersey (“New. Jersey”) has long banned possession of large capacity ammunition magazines (“LCMs”) — firearm magazines capable of holding more than the standard number of rounds provided by the manufacturer. [emphasis added]"""""""""""""""""""" feels like that statement of his will shoot them in the foot
  10. i know it's gonna make me sound stupid......but what does "Grant, vacate, and remand; " mean in their world?
  11. is it childish of me if i keep enjoying seeing him get his azz handed to him on these things?
  12. whelp.......all great men have a strong woman standing behind them. newsom's great at being a turd. and his wife was/is apparently stronger than he is.
  13. convicted for 20, probably will be out in less than 10
  14. they both were really. i feel like fox wanted views. and with the red state vs blue state argument running hotter than the 9mm vs 45acp argument, they needed/wanted something like this. they probably figured get the gov of the biggest commie state against a well-to-do red state. desantis was the only one that took it. desantis may have lost, newsom was exposed as a liar(irrelevant since he's a 'rat) and fox probably cleaned house with ratings for the night.
  15. he wasn't getting away with them. several times, desantis pointed out that there had been graphics shown with sources to counter the lies newsom was spewing. and dude lied after nearly EVERY graphic. the truly sad part is that simply because he kept saying "and that's a fact" too many people will believe him. his lies about the taxes was particularly troublesome. and if he tosses his hat in the ring, that's what'll get him "elected". he's pretty much a white obummer.
  16. i gotta say though....newsom's lying. a LOT. more than i expected/.
  17. yea. i'm kinda wishing they'd both come better prepared. i do feel like newsom's projecting a bit though
  18. fox news. debate between newsom and desantis. anyone else watching? newsoms favorite phrase "that's a fact"
  19. golly i wonder if this can or will be "adjusted" to only scan "right wing extremists"? rhetorical question.
  20. cobra? as in ac cobra? 427? i even run the genny dry. i have just bought a used 6k propane powered genny too.
  21. i tried using that shiit about 10 years ago. it's why i now have 2 snowblowers instead of one. the dam thing wouldn't start. i followed the directions on the bottle when i "mothballed" that blower for the summer. when i couldn't get it running, i ran out and bought another, because i wasn't really able to shovel. was gonna scrap the first one. couldn't make myself do that, so i brought it to the shop, and pulled the carb off. the thing was totally clogged. every single passage was gummed up. i pulled it apart, soaked it, used my torch-tip cleaners to run through the passages, and it runs, although i still didn't get it quite right. i need to leave the choke slightly applied for it to run right. i learned my lesson after that. i just rotate the gas now. things that're gonna get mothballed get run dry. haven't had an issue since. see above.
  22. gas doesn't hold anymore. i keep 20 gallons in the garage. i rotate it every 6 months
  23. i agree. the problem is that there is more money in treating the disease than there is in curing the disease.
  24. i hadn't thought of that with wood stoves. i bought/installed my insert in 2014 when heating oil prices were spiking. or was it 2013? either way.....i get it. we did some troubleshooting on the waste oil heater yesterday. i texted pics of the area to the guy i deal with, and he was thinking transformer orburner blower shorted. both of those worked fine when powered individually. thinking i'm gonna end up replacing the transformer and flame sensor and see if it can last through the winter. then come summertime, i'll shop for some deals on a newer/bigger waste oil heater for the shop, and move this one home to my garage there.....which is separate from my house. the heater i'm running here now just barely heats this place when we get down into the teens. it's a 155k btu and by measurements it's plenty. but then take into account that the building's cinderblock with no insulation, and the bay doors are glass and are all giant heat leaks.....it's not enough. the guy i deal with refurbs these things too, and i can get a 300k btu for ballpark of $5k. that's good to know, 'cause i'm working on my upstairs which in my ancient old house has no plumbing/heat/ac at all up there. i'll be trying one of those up there this summer i think
