  1. Very happy with my Winchester 94s - both post-'64, and my Brazilian 92 copy in .357.  All are stone-stock and shoot very well.  They are just about perfect woods rifles for deer; light, carry easily, and shoot true.

I've been tempted to add some leather bits - a buttstock cover and perhaps leather-wrap the levers.

One thing I have found - my hand is much too big for the "standard" lever loop.  When shooting, I wrap my hand around both the stock and the outside of the lever loop.

The '92 came with an expanded/enlarged loop - Its a bit more awkward to carry, but easier to shoot

It seems pretty simple to me.

Many politicians are lawyers. They push these dumb laws through, full in the knowledge that they will be challenged in court.

That means their lawyer buddies get a lot of money - none of them work for cheap.

The Judges get paid to listen to the BS.

The lawyers in the AG's office get paid to defend the BS.

Our lawyers get paid to challenge the BS.

It is a huge money making scheme that benefits no-one but the lawyers.

...and lawyers wonder why they are one of the most despised professions.

...and they get to tell all their lefty voters how they're "protecting" them from the mean old black gunz, and they're  "fighting the NRA".

Its "all for the children" of course.

so here's my deal. even though i asked the question earlier, i really want to believe this was an accident. my problem is that the more i watch the video, the more it looks like it was gonna miss the pylon right up till it hooked a hard right turn. so......are the currents really that strong that they coulda done that? or is it an optical illusion due to the camera angle?

I don't know anything about Baltimore Harbor; but yes; currents really can be that strong.

A big cargo ship like that isn't very maneuverable.

Most of the shipboard systems and controls are electric. If the lights go out, they have big, big trouble.

  4. I was getting text messages every other day from Nikki Haley's campaign.  Reporting them as junk did nothing.

Texting "STOP" worked.  At least, so far.

    Haven't seen any from Democrats.

So far this campaign season, I have received two from Trump.

I've deleted them; if they keep up I will text 'STOP' to them as well.

  5. NRA board of directors re-elects Wayne LaPierre as executive vice president | Reuters

"May 30 2022 (Reuters) - The National Rifle Association board reappointed Wayne LaPierre as executive vice president on Monday, turning back the latest leadership challenge amid corruption allegations and flat membership for the still-powerful gun lobby."

    ...

"Conservative activist Allen West, a retired military officer and former U.S. congressman from Florida, challenged LaPierre, who is also fighting off a lawsuit from New York Attorney General Letitia James that seeks to remove LaPierre from office.
The NRA said there was one vote against LaPierre, who is also CEO of the NRA, on the 76-member board. Monday's board vote came after dues-paying members on Saturday voted overwhelmingly in support of LaPierre."

Note - That one vote wasn't any of "our" Board members.

  6. I've been there a couple of times over the years.  Forget going on the weekends.  The crowds are huge.

For parking; I would park across the street from the 'Hunting Outfitter Hall' entrance doors - the McClay street side.  There's a small warehouse/light manufacturing operation there that has parking.  Not cheap; but not expensive and right across the street.

    I'm not surprised.

The ban had NOTHING to do with the environment.  It was all about optics and politics.

Murphy wanted to show that he was 'strong on environmental issues' so he did something that was a big news event, but ultimately zero (or NEGATIVE) impact on the actual cause he was purportedly championing.

Same with EVERY piece of gun legislation he supports.

    :)
