  1. I have a 1520. I enjoy it. has everything on it I need. Camera and video from it are great. If you don't mind switching carriers, the windows phone pre paid phones are surprisingly good for a very low cost to buy outright. The OS runs extremely well on lower power devices.
  2. as far as the start menu in 8.1 and making it all more familiar to her. Right click on the taskbar(bar no bottom of the screen) Select Properties Select the navigation tab under the "start screen" category Check when I sign in or close all apps on a screen, go to the desktop instead of start. & Show my desktop background on start. Whenever she clicks the start button it will go to her app drawer which is basically the exact same thing as the start menu. Not a fan of most of the third party start menu options and frankly I don't see the need with 8.1 and some of the changes they have implemented.
  3. I ended up getting the 500 field / security combo. Seems smooth, feels durable. I need to go to the shotgun shootout. http://imgur.com/a/4Ew0P
  4. Howard, what are you currently using? How many devices do you have connected to wifi?
  5. I think it comes down to this A police officer should have to jump through hoops to perform his job. It is an occupation that has a very real effect on the average US citizen, they can ruin you, or let you go on your way. They can make a mistake and end your life. The opposite of the negative things a police officer can do are true as well, they can be great assets to a community. Public oversight and accountability should be the norm. They are anything but. If departments want to arm up to fight a losing war on drugs/terrorism/whatever, so be it. If the department or its officers make a huge mistake, they should be held accountable. Suspended with pay does not count.
  6. Rather shocked at how many people posting here think Video taping police in any way shape or form is wrong. It isn't, frankly it should be promoted and police need to be held more accountable for their actions.
  7. Welp, got the letter in the mail. Got my ID. 49 days from time I got fingerprinted. Everyone in Howell at the PD and records department has been super helpful.
  8. Yeah , I am not worried honestly. Everyone there was very nice. If it takes a bit of extra time because of the demand, so be it. I don't think for a moment they are just sitting on it. Very good experience so far.
  9. References just got letters yesterday 3/20/13
  10. The guns in order of interest atm... http://www.winchesterguns.com/products/catalog/detail.asp?family=021C&mid=512257 - Winchester SXP field/camp combo, also like the defender. http://www.benelliusa.com/shotguns/benelli-nova-pump-tactical.php - Benelli Nova http://www.weatherby.com/product/shotguns/pump_tr/pa08_tr - Weatherby PA-08 TR I like the combo, as I want to learn to hunt. Barrels on the other 2 guns shown can be switched out from what I have read. I haven't ruled out any gun yet honestly. I want to go check out as much as possible. Whatever feels best and shoulders nicely I suppose.
  11. Getting prints done on the 8th. Does anyone know if Howell waits to send out the reference letters until fingerprinting is done? Itching to get this all taken care of so I can go looking for my first shotgun.
